- Had a centrifugal chiller surging while working on quarterly pm inspections. Also had to change the purge filter while on site.

Love that Star Delta startup sounds, big boys toys.
Used to work on centrifugals to 2000 ton. Its all fun and games until tear down comes along lol
We had to rob parts from this chiller to get 1 & 3 running when I started this building back up after 10+ years off being more or less mothballed.
Sweet music. Love the low pressure machines.
One of things I always check is to make sure the pump-out pump is actually working and pulling into a good vacuum.
I remember working on a couple of those in the mid eighties in Gatwick Airport UK . Solid machine..
12:38 That sounded awesom
Sounds like a high quality shop vac when they surge lmao
Like your vedios very detailed hopefully someday I can learn and work on chillers and so forth I'm learning alot from your vedios keep up the good work.
Beautiful chiller
Love the Trane Centravacs chillers whether it’s the older R11 units or the mordern 1233ZD units.
Sounds smooth

Good job and amazing
Nice video. I'm new in the world of chillers and yours videos are very helpful and interresting, I try to listen all of Them. Keep it Up 🤘
Btw listening you from Montreal , Canada.
Thank you!
I’ve found a lot of the buzzing on those style contractors comes from the upper armature clips that have came loose
Or missing after someone has inspected/replaced the contacts lol
Yea might be some good money for a changeout
The building engineer should be next to you as your working.
Thanks again for the videos!

Stay safe.
Retired (werk'n)keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses!
I don’t know the engineers at the building now, been over 3 years since I worked there, but there’s a large number of building engineers that don’t ask questions or watch over a tech’s shoulder to learn the why or how. It’s one of my biggest pet peeves in the trade.
@@turntwooutdoors2332 I was a building engineer and I stuck to the contractors like glue !!😅😆🤣👍🏻
@@realestateservicessaleshea99, I’m an Assistant Chief now but I still shadow techs, if you’re not learning you’re dying.
What’s your favorite grease to use on all your gearboxes etc etc ?
The cause of the pressure difference is many factors, you have to check it one by one
I dont get to work on centrifugal's...only a few times. I really want to learn more about them. I mostly work on process chillers or air cooled. I understand how these low pressure units operate, just not a ton of hands on experience.
Hey I know next to nothing about these Trane units , could you make a vid explaining what this purger is about and what it does , that would be awesome.
I've never seen such a device , I'd love to know more about it .
Thanks a lot man , really glad I found your channel 👍
czcams.com/video/UmNVXCZeOwo/video.html see if this helps. The purge is included.
@@HVACTIME fantastic thank you very much!
I never understood why the dehydrator makes a trap for the liquid drain back. Wouldn’t you want it to
Coke out of the drier and go straight to the condenser?
Kalau valve ekspansi masih bagus dan tekanan air normal coba vacum ulang sampai standar micron pastikan tidak bocor dan ganti freon dan oli
The oil case on that older unit looks like a standard oil burner filter set up , is it close to that design ?
Can you explain the set points and approach temps like I don't know?

Lol I’m wrong I was like oh yea
Throw a Trane TR200 VFD on that chiller and it will outlast that York. Lol Jk York YK’s a good machine.
can surge be prevented by using hot gas bypass?
If your dealing with light loads. Yes.
@@HVACTIME Thanks for the reply. ...and yes my question was in context of Chiller load being less than 35 percent
Yea change that drier
Bandage and bandage eventually they say ok
