A father and son team traveling the country touring locations Elvis Presley visited during his lifetime.
During Elvis Week we had a wonderful opportunity to take Elvis's Co-Pilot, Ron Strauss, back on the Lisa Marie Airplane that he flew for Elvis. Unfortunately, due to Graceland's no video, this will be an audio interview only.
Be sure to get Sally Hoedel's book "Destined to Fly, the story of Ron Strauss"

I can image Ron going back on the lisa marie the memories he must of had love the storys Ron told
He’s a awesome man. I’ve seen him talk before. Did he tell you he was the one who was the last car in his corvette at Elvis funeral? They needed a outstanding car to be the last one they let in the place. They asked Ron who’s car was the corvette? Ron said it’s mine. So they got Ron. He said he was honored. He’s a nice man! I know Elvis appreciated him! From what other people said he knew he could depend on Ron to be there.
Just to see Ron step on that plane gave me chills. Love this so much. ❤
Can’t tell you how much I appreciate this. My husband and I lived In Pittsburgh and met Elvis on the tarmac at that airport before the show, which we enjoyed from the 3rd row floor seats center. The story of Rons’s wife had me in tears, Elvis was an exceptionally generous caring man.
Thank you so much for this wonderful interview.
Great interview. Ron is a class act. As was Elvis.
Such a great job, guys!! Thank you!! Ron has consistently told me since we met that his only goal is to make sure people know what a good guy Elvis was...and what a great boss. Thanks for making sure even more people know that both Ron and Elvis are two of the best!!
❤❤ Run as a rock star.
I can totally visualize the story! Thank you for telling us this story! RIP: The King! ⚡
Great story as usual, guys. I've heard of Ron many times in various books, so to hear him talk about his time with Elvis was a treat 👏👏👏
Fantastic! Thank you!
Thanks Guys. Love this. Although I’m not surprised EPE didn’t get back to you. They don’t get back to anybody these days. Shame. But hey besides that thanks for doing this, Ron is such a lovely guy and the pics in the video are perfect. Keep up the great job you do. Best wishes Colin.
Elvis é o maior mega star que já existiu e era humilde apesar de ter jatinhos e aviões nunca desrespeitou ninguém dificilmente vai aparecer um cara assim de novo Elvis o legendário
So glad to see that Ron is in such great shape and enjoying himself so much after all these years. Class act as are you and your son. I heartfeltly appreciate all that you both do! God bless and with love ~ Christopher Tyler
I enjoyed listening to this.

This is amazing guys. Another piece of the Elvis jigsaw being filled in and thank you for sharing your stories Ron.
Another great interview/video!! It was so cool to see him walk up the flight of stairs into the Lisa Marie! It must've brought back a flood of memories for him!! Great job in mixing old footage of Elvis and the plane, along with new photos of Mr. Strauss! Thanks for sharing this awesome experience with all of us!!!

Hi guy great to see yee back brilliant interview love to see the video paddy
That must have brought back great memories for Mr Strauss, what amazing stories.
Thank you for sharing them.
Been an Elvis fan since childhood. In recent years with the advent of YT, interviews, associates every one who like him think of him and treat him like a king. Yet, Elvis was just an entertainer, a singer, an actor, yet his films were no major contributuion to cinema. A couple of good ones. Didn't write songs, covered numerous other peoples songs, wasn't a great guitar player, most of his later shows were repetative, yet he is considered The King. He was philanthropic with his wealth but in context he is considered high on many peoples list. More than say, their own surgeon, or blood donor. Why? Looks? Voice? If Elvis looked liked Tiny Tim would fans still like him?
Love this!! I love what you do to bring Elvis to us!! I also love that Elvis on Tour t-shirt Michael!! Where can I get one?
Great interview. Waiting on the video!
Great interview. Ron is a class act. the story! Thank you for telling us this story! of elvis
i sat on Elvis bed back shortly after the plane was returned to Graceland and i didn't think the foam mattress was all that comfortable.....of course they may have replaced it and it wasn't Elvis's original mattress idk for sure....but it was the first month that it was open for tours and I just couldn't resist....I also sat in one of the seats and at the conference table too..... LoL
Thanks, Guys!!!! You are the best. He seemed like a very nice guy. What is the name of his book???

Awesome video...well done guys! Fascinating 😊
Amazing
Very cool 👍🏼😎
I have a buddy who used to hang with Ron back in the day
Great job as usual guys! By the way EPE never returns calls or emails.
Absolutely unbelievable work by you both, I’ve goosebumps after watching that, quick personal question to anyone that could answer, I’m possibly going back to Graceland next year, from the uk I can fly direct into either Nashville or Atlanta, any recommendations on which is better in order to get to Memphis, I know Nashville is closer but on the internet it says there’s only 1 train a day to Memphis. Thanking you in advance. Regards Karl
What a video (audio)! Can't wait to see the full video version. (Some of this audio was hard to hear.)
VERY cool chat guys , i hope you get permession to show the video sometime...
Does he know about the Jet that was in the Desert that was recently purchased by Jimmys World? Maybe that would make another video. Jimmys World would like to hear more about the jet he bought and this co pilot.
How many airplane personnel did Elvis have??
Pilot / co- pilot (Ron) / flight engineer and a stewardess
Why didn't you interview him outside?
Well, because most of his stories happened on the plane and our intention was to get permission from EPE so we could show you Mr Strauss on the plane. We had already left Memphis before we realized we couldn’t use our footage.
