    This must be the first time I've ever heard Hadley speak as himself and not as a character because that is NOT the speaking voice I expected to come out of him. I really don't mean it in a bad way, but as deep and powerful as his singing voice is, I didn't expect him to sound so normal and unassuming when he spoke. I actually like it a lot.

      I agree on him being the best singer in the movie, what an amazing voice, i've been rewatching that scene over and over just to listen to it! However I don't mind that it was so short, he sang in the musical, this is the movie, they don't have to be exactly alike. And even if the actors here weren't as good singers, some were still great.. I actually really liked the singing of Hugh Jackman, Eddie Redmayne, Aaron Tveit and many of the students who had like one or two lines

    • @harshmnr
      @harshmnr Před 7 lety +11

      Sarah Woolley I agree but also I mean like the movie was still pretty good in my opinion; I think what it did was prove to the "normal" part of society that isn't obsessed with musicals that musicals can actually be cool 'cause they're like, "Oh there's somebody famous that I already like and they're doing a musical so now I think musicals are cool!" And it also gave those actors a chance to prove that they were able to do different stuff than they usually do. But I agree that it's not the best version. :/

      well,maybe because the requirements for movie and musicals/anniversary concerts are different. While in musical, the voice is the most important, in the movies, it is the face, since their voice are mostly added on later during editing. Of course,the actor still requires to have a good voice,but it is considered less important. The face though is quite important,and they have to find actors with the suitable face for their role. For example,Ramin and Hadley may be perfect for their voices as the role of Enjolras and Grantaire,but they do not look like teenage boys who just are in university.

    I'm not sure if this a different take than what was in the movie, but the kind of growl at "barricades" "have no chance" and "throw" make this sound so much more intimidating. The movie version sounded so much more sincere and cautionary. Both are AMAZING though.

    It must be so painful to see that the army officer is better than the main cast, who are actors but not singers at all. It just pisses me off to see the producer having Hadley Fraser in their hand, and just relegate the poor man to a secondary roles.

    Oh Wouldn't it have been amazing if Hadley actually DID play a major role in the movie, like Javert or Marius? I don't know the whole of the story as to why the movie didn't quite deliver a successful performance. Still, after watching it more than once, I feel like the cinematography itself was really powerful, to the extent where had they casted actors who could really sing, it would have been critically acclaimed and revered so much more than what it turned out to be.

    You can tell the final movie version was much less powerful than this version, probably due to the director knowing that his singing sounds so much more powerful and professional than the other Hollywood actors. Story as old as time, when the real talent is asked to hold back in order for the less talented but have better connections or status to shine instead
