I thought about switching to a CGI version of Sir Topham Hatt but I decided against it before Season 13 started. The old Sir Topham Hatt has a very "neutral" face that is very useful for a range of emotions. The new Sir Topham Hatt is always smiling and I didn't like that as much. Well, Diesel 10 has only been my series' antagonist in certain movies and specials - he's actually never appeared in an episode of my series. For the past few seasons, I've had two human antagonists: the Railway Inspector in Season 12 and Sailor John in Seasons 13 & 14.
ThomasWoodenRailway I think Sailor John is a lot worse! Diesel 10 never blew up the tracks, he just had a gang of diesels taking over the railway! But Sailor John blew up the railway!

Y'know, I wish Sailor John would return in the actual TV series to get his revenge on Thomas. If I was part of the T&F production crew, I wouldn't let John Hurt's death prevent Sailor John from returning. I'd just simply hire another actor who can do a convincing John Hurt imitation that's as impressive as WoodenRailway's.
