- In this video, I tear down and review the Rupes LHR 15 Mark III Polisher. Built to handle any detailing situation, the new LHR 15 MarkIII is the new frontier of detailing. The ergonomic design allows for precise paint correction with complete comfort, in curved surfaces and difficult to reach areas. The LHR 15 MarkIII operates at a higher rpm compared to the LHR21 MarkIII. This increased speed provides equivalent correction and does so with a pad diameter and orbit that are more conducive to curved or varied surfaces. Is this tool worth the high price.....lets find out.

PROGRESSIVE TRIGGER
Adding an additional layer of control is the new progressive trigger. Acting as a throttle to control speeds within the dial range, the progressive trigger allows the operator to make subtle adjustments for precise control without interruption of the process or need to reposition the grip to access the speed dial.

What brand polisher do you prefer?
dont have any....send me one hihihi
Of all the polishers I have, I use this polisher, the 3in Rupes, and the Ibird nano the most. I plan on adding the 6” 21mm throw.I use two other 6in, but they vibrate and with just minor bumps or drops have bent something and are worthless now. My 3 in Rupes ( I have 2 now) both can take a mountain of abuse and have never failed me. I’m very happy with the 5” Mark III so far. I still like 3D1, and Sonax polishes as “goto” but have gravitated more and more to Rupes pads, and still use Urofiber 50/50 when i can. Lake country cutting pads.
Rupes
Rupes for large corder polishers(own 15mk3, 21mk3 and the rotary), flex for small polishers(own xfe 7-12 and pxe80) and Millwaukee for cordless polishers(own 15 and 21).
As for the washer mod, i instead sand the shroud so that it wont touch the bp. Its the perfect solution and gives you much better rotation.
Myself flex! Never any issues!!
Great highlight on this polisher. Appreciate you taking it apart too!!
Awesome Seller Brian!! Gotta love the craftsmanship of a well made machine 🤓👍🏻
I love these technical videos Brian! Always interested to see what’s inside with the help of someone who knows what they’re doing
Me too
The best polish machine. The price, quality and smoothness justify the price.
Polisher videos are always great! 🍻🍻🍻
I was able to pick up a cordless Milwaukee DA like new at a discount from offer up and I’m in love with it I had a maxshine m8s before hand man what an upgrade!
A few years back I got my first Rupes 21mm 3rd gen polisher.
It was pricey but it paid for itself the first car, I now have a backup 2nd gen (used $160) also 21mm, they are worth their weight in gold.
These videos are priceless Brian. Would it be possible to make a video on the Flex equivalent polisher? If you have already forgive me I cannot remember one.
Hey Brian, great video as always. Would you please add a link in the description for the Wolf's Head grease you prefer for your polishers. Thank in advance!
Griots for now! I can't afford those fancy polishers that i won't be using that much!
Great review! And after your thorough teardown/autopsy, this looks like one of maybe a handful of polishers that's Apex-ready to use right out of the box. Again, great review and glad to see that Rupes quality continues to improve and hasn't slid backwards or outsourced to China like some have to cut cost. Thank you. Edit: So disappointed FLEX Polishers and their other cordless tools went over to be made in China (over a year ago) along with their great long-life batteries too. They just won't have the same quality as when made in Germany. Now we're still paying quality German prices for Chinees made tools.
Definitely a nice unit! Brian would you mind trying some lake country pads on there and reporting back on how it works with that polisher? Tks
Awesome video and product review good friend
Thanks Brian, have been looking at this exact polisher as a replacement for mines. Price is the only drawback. 👍🏼
Shinemate is what you want then.
Thanks Brian 👍😁
You can either buy quality or wonder what you're missing. Rupes is the standard.
Bought a cordless Milwaukee I've only used it a couple times but works really good. Cordless is so much nicer!
I have one of those polishers.
Worth every cent.
Great video can you recommend a less expensive one for occasional use?? Thanka!!
Great video thnx.
Not sure why people consider the price of this polisher as a con, it's just $460 for a tool the makes most of the work of any paint correction job and it works for years.
Youve used tons of polishers Brian. Is the Rupes worth it? Video is very very helpful, but id need to hold it and use it to appreciate it. Thank you.
I use a rotary nothing beats it for cutting
Yeah a 21 inch DA owns your rotary.
Good polisher 👊🏼
I have a porter cable now but was looking at the max shine. Rupes a little to expensive for a diy guy
Just been quoted £95 for a new cable on mine, it's 6 months old, and has been back twice 🙈
Does the 15mm cut good?
waht gresse can put not in usa what litium can put bicouse of heat
Question. Bought a Shinemate Ex620 polisher. Love it so far but notcing only after a couple uses, it heats up and melted a couple pads and the stock backing plate is looking pretty rough for the only handful times of usage. What could be the cause? Is it the factory grease thats in the machine?
I have the same polisher yes change out the grease asap the polisher will run quieter and smoother. I run my polisher at speed 4 never zero heat problems.
@@kennovakowski1246 thank you 🙏🏽 what grease do you recommend?
@@LilRick96 quality high heat lithium is what I used
Is the Rupes D/A cordless worth the $? Would you instead get a Milwaukee or a FLEX?
Unless you have fuck it money to blow or run a business then itd prob be worth it but for hobbyist using it a few times a year if that, way too expensive for a tool you wont use that much.
ShineMate.👍🏻
Man Brian I can’t believe this thing is $450 they probably have what $200 into parts and I guess there’s some labor overhead costs.. where is this thing made in America or Italy?
Italy! 🇮🇹
@@404notfound..... what’s up my friend!
That isn’t the case at all. Try one first yourself
They make huge profiy
Nothing wrong with the Rupes units, highly copied by the competition. Yes, they are a SYSTEM to ensure consistent performance to the end user. A bit pricey for a DIY’er but when you are charging for the service it becomes a money maker.
First!!!!
