    This is the HondaJet Echelon, the first transcontinental jet designed for single-pilot operation, making it the longest-range single-pilot business aircraft in the world. Here is everything you need to know about the HondaJet Echelon.
    1:00 - Cabin
    Stepping inside, Honda Aircraft is collaborating with Honda North America Automotive Design on the interior furnishings. The interior is available in 3 configurations, executive, dual club, and divan. This adaptability allows for up to 11 passengers with generous legroom, headroom, and baggage space; however, it is necessary to restrict the load to 5 people to keep the plane running efficiently.
    The all-new chairs have a more ergonomic design than the previous version, with 180-degree swivel capabilities and reclining footrests, and the seat position can be customized with 3 levers. With 7 feet or 2.1 meters from seat back to seat back in the club configuration, passengers can relax without their feet overlapping.
    A bed may be installed at the rear utilizing footrests between seats and a lightweight mattress. Because the engines are located on the wings, the new aircraft features a full-height galley in front, as well as a big cargo hold on the bottom of the fuselage with a baggage space of 120 cubic feet or 3,400 liters. The original HondaJet had two skylights in the lavatory, a feature that has been so popular that the new design adds 2 more skylights in the center of the cabin.
    The cabin spans 62 inches or 1.58 meters high from the lowered aisle to the ceiling and 61 inches or 1.55 meters wide. The Echelon also removes the vibrations that sadly often define light planes. Furthermore, with a cabin altitude of 6,362 feet at its maximum cruising altitude, the cabin has the best pressurization among light aircraft.

    Now, let’s step into the cockpit. Pilots have more space, too, with an additional 3 inches or 8 centimeters of headroom and 6 inches or 15 centimeters of legroom.
    The flight deck features a Garmin G3000 system, including autoland, autobrakes, autothrottles, runway overrun awareness and alerting system, and Honda Aircraft’s advanced steering augmentation system, which optimizes yaw factor during landing. The brake setting is preset in the FMS and a brake-by-wire system provides reliable braking.
    4:08 - Engine, Performance Specs, and Flying Experience
    Now, let’s talk about the engine, performance specifications, and how it flies. According to Honda, the Echelon is also the “first transcontinental jet designed for single-pilot operation, making it the longest-range single-pilot business aircraft in the world”. With a transcontinental range of 2,625 nautical miles or 4,860 kilometers considering NBAA IFR, 1 pilot, and 4 passengers, the plane carries on the unique over-the-wing-engine-mount design of the HondaJet.
    The HindaJet Echelon is powered by two Williams International FJ44-4C turbofan engines, with a maximum cruise speed of 450 KTAS, and a maximum altitude is 47,000 feet or 14,325 meters. The jet has a takeoff distance of 3,300 feet or 1,000 meters, and a landing distance of 2,550 feet or 777 meters.

    Honda Aircraft has already received signed letters of intent for more than 350 planes. The engineering team completed the preliminary design review, the critical design review is planned for the summer of 2024, and the rollout of the first Echelon is scheduled for early 2026. Flight testing should begin in 2026 and certification and entry into service are targeted for 2028.

    Honda Aircraft also has taken its place in the race to more efficiency with its participation in the 2023 NBAA-BACE Sustainability Pledge, demonstrating a commitment to make NBAA-BACE a more eco-friendly event, according to the company. In addition, Honda Aircraft Company is utilizing the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Book and Claim Program for its ferry flights to and from NBAA-BACE to promote the deployment of SAF and support the industry’s commitment to carbon neutrality.

    The base purchase price for a new HondaJet Echelon is in the $10 million to $12 million range before options, and the charter price is estimated at $4,000 to $6,000 per hour. Naturally, prices will vary depending on availability, fuel prices, ground fees, and more.

    While the annual fixed cost is estimated at $400,000 to $600,000, the average hourly operating cost is estimated at $2,000 to $3,000.

    I like the cirrus vision jet +2 i feel that its a small expensive toy i loved how easily the plane is operated. With one button the plane lands it self .and the perchute its safe if some thing happens

    Let's hear it for Mr. Williams, the genius guy who worked on the Chrysler Turbine Car, then went on to create some fantastic small turbine engines, which happen to power the cruise missile, which can go 4000 miles on one tank of gas. That's pretty amazing.

      It will probably be cheaper than that, my estimate is about half a million a year in fixed costs and $2,000-$3,000 per hour in variable costs

    Best cabin pressurization among light aircraft 🛩 is the Syber jet, 0ft at 41,000ft and only 1,800 ft at 49,000ft ._____.

    The Hondajet HA-420 is a unique let jet with regard to speed, cabin layout and wing mounted fanjet engines.
    Compared to its principle competition the Cessna M2 and the Embraer Phenom 100 the Hondajet has a high Vref speed, 112 knots, where as the M2 and Phenom 100 have Vref speeds of 105 and 100 knots respectively.
    There have been several Runway over run incidents in the Honda Jet, as there is no reverse thrust arresting with any of these airplanes.
    I would like to see the HA2600 incorporate leader edge slats into its wing architecture. Leading edge slats reduce Vref speeds by roughly 15% allowing the airplane to have much better approach and takeoff performance.
    So it may add 10% to the acquisition cost, $12.5 million to $13.75 million. Few individuals will buy these aircraft and the corporate aircraft community would likely find the HA2600 more appealing if you can fly into more airports with its class leading range.
    Private aviation is about going into places that are not commonly supported by airlines.
    Just something to ponder when looking at the long-term success of a new aircraft program.
    The Honda HF120 engine has only costumer, the Hondajet HA-420. It's thrust class is very limited with regard to airframe option. At 100 pounds heavier than the Williams FJ 33-5 and about 5% more powerful, it is not suitable for the Cirrus Jet.
    I hope that Honda Jets leadership isn't making another misstep by under baking the HA2600.

    I was in 3 different versions of this last fall.
    They were just more bumpy when landing. Taking off it didn’t shake at all.
    Noise levels were completely unacceptable👎
    The lavatory was too small for the price.
    The cockpit layout was not pleasing or symmetrical.
    Carpet was ok upholstery was hideous.

    The Celera 500L will make aircraft like this obsolete. The current, rumored price of the Celera's first release is said to be around $5mil. Making it much less expensive than this Honda Jet. The cruise speeds on both aircraft are about the same, with the Celera just edging out the Honda Jet with 460kts. However, on the range, Celera just flat out dominates the Honda Jet, coming in at around 4,500 nautical miles compared to Honda's 2,625 nautical miles. Also, the Celera's operating costs will be way lower than the Honda's, being that the Celera is a single prop aircraft compared to a dual jet engine aircraft. Lastly, being that the Celera is just a single prop aircraft, the bar of entry will be a lot easier to achieve for a Celera pilot than acquiring a jet engine pilot license.

    🤦 If this was designed as a ACURA JET 🤷 or even engineered by HPD Honda performance development 💁 and they had a Type-R variant I will be all in 🤝 I'm sorry but the lanes can't even fit someone with a wheelchair through it 💁 with no irritation! And also this would be way more impressive than this if it had 💁 one plus one / 1+1 seating with appropriate headroom, elbow, and knee room 🤦 would have made all the difference for 11-19 million dollars
