    Excellent, nothing like a new set of sails. Bet you cannot wait to get out there and try them. Not sure if Sanders said anything but don’t be tempted to pull or cleat the leech lines off until you have used the sails for a while. They are Dacron so will stretch and fall into shape as you sail. If you keep the leech lines taught from new you will end up with a hooked leech as that part will not be able to stretch out as it should. Your boat is looking amazing. A friend of mine has just bought one in Poole so he may be in touch for some help. All the best. Andy UK

    Hi Alex, I was wandering how much the new sails were. They look really good. We have bought a new boat . It’s a snapdragon 21. I may need to get at least one new sail.

    • @AlexGoesSailing
      @AlexGoesSailing  Před 3 lety +1

      About £500 a sail roughly for this size of boat! Great little boats those snapdragons!

    Any reason you didn't have reefing points added to the main? Would be a useful upgrade and give you the best of both worlds

    • @AlexGoesSailing
      @AlexGoesSailing  Před 3 lety

      The main reason is because I trailer sail the boat so the sail boom and mast has to come off to go down the road. The thing with slab reefing is all the extra lines and things that I would have to de-rig so simple boom furling is plenty good enough. If I didn’t trailer the boat I would get slab and i’m also a fair weather sailor ahaha

    Have you got a boom cover for the main? Sails look good.

    • @AlexGoesSailing
      @AlexGoesSailing  Před 3 lety

      no need as the boom is off most of the time!

    • @rogerdinnis3816
      @rogerdinnis3816 Před 3 lety +2

      I understand your reply but how will you protect the boom with the rolled sail when not on the mast? Will you be removing the main from the boom each time and bagging it? I think not! A cover will prevent dirt and abrasion from occurring when stored below or elsewhere. I have had the same issue. Just a thought. Btw thanks for replying so promptly.

      @@rogerdinnis3816 yeah the mast comes off after every sail as i trailer the boat so the boom has to come off. i was planning on getting a sock to put over the sail and boom when putting inside.

    How much did them new sails cost ? I am doing up a similar sized boat, albeit as a floating project and getting some use from her along the way, and new sails are on my list
