Every time I see these clips of Eddie Cantor I often wonder how his wife felt, seeing her husband surrounded by the beautiful Goldwyn Girls in just about every movie he made! She must have been one very confident lady.

This is from a movie entitled, "Palmy Days" with Eddie Cantor and Charlotte Greenwood. Lucille Ball was somewhere in this chorus line.

The music to this is absolutely HOT!!! I love the Bix-like trumpet solos! Oh how I would love to be one of the chorus girls!!

This song was featured in Steve Martin's "Pennies From Heaven"... But I don't know who the performer was in the movie....

Apparently, chefs dressed far more casually in the early thirties...

Kid Boots is the movie one of the best of the first talkies made; Busby Berkeley was great!

Part of the crazy soundtrack of our lives! Here is pretty amazing print of Eddie in drag from Palmy Days that we created from an original promo still, digitally restored first in my studio here in Philly. Enjoy!

Cantor was very good in musical reviews; not taking anything away from Jolson, but Eddie was a better rounded entertainer.

He really could put over those "tunes." Very melodious, too.

Eddie Cantor was Jolson's only real rival. Cantor was tremendously talented, and he was just about the most adorable man who ever lived.

@closedcircle1 Not a vocal fan so much as rhythm and music! Though I respect Annette Hanshaw and her sound and contribution to the era, I prefer THE BANDS!!

It’s funny how effeminate Eddie Cantor’s performances often were - not unlike Jack Benny as well.
