    I wish it was brighter. I can barely see it in the sunlight. I have a Pioneer DMH7600NEX and i can see it so good. Headunit manufactures need to up their screen brightness game.

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  Před měsícem

      Believe the anti glare coating on the screen makes this model (and the XAV-AX4000) slightly dimmer than most radios. Have you tried adjusting screen brightness or, disconnecting the illumination input to the radio

    Looking at getting this to replace sync1 in my 2011 raptor - do you know if it will have a connection for my stock backup camera? Also, what would you use the HDMI input for?

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  Před rokem +2

      Stock back up camera will require a harness OR an interface such as the iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2. HDMI input is used for phone mirroring, or for connection of a video source (such as a Chromecast or Apple TV)

    I bought this radio and the iDatalink Maestro for my ‘17 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, when I put the car into reverse the backup camera pops up briefly and then shuts off. However I can go and open it manually and it will stay on. Any ideas?
    Additionally, when I do bring up the rear view camera, it shows the parking sensors only, until I hit the icon for camera. Is there any way to get a split screen view or an overlay or just simply default to rear view cam instead of sensors? Thanks!

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  Před rokem

      Check your reverse trigger input on the radio, check to make sure it is reading 12 volts when the vehicle is in reverse, and that it's not dropping out once he vehicle is shifted into reverse. If you sourced this wire through the Maestro RR, change the source to the vehicle itself, rather than through the RR

    Heya, are you able to change that home screen analog clock to a digital -- either that or remove the analog clock altogether? Something about the clock hands don't suit the look in my vehicle. I would like to know if I can change it. Thanks!

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  Před rokem

      I looked through the manual but did not see anything mentioned about it being changeable or being able to be turned off. It did mention multiple HOME screens though, so maybe changing that setting may help.

    Great video! Do you know if you need to use the GPS antenna in order to use Wireless CarPlay and Android Auto? If so, is that something you need to mount on your dash, or can it just be placed behind the radio?

    • @LockdownSecurity
      @LockdownSecurity  Před rokem +2

      The GPS antenna is used for accuracy with GPS navigation, when using CarPlay or Android Auto. It is not required for Wireless use of either (CarPlay or Android Auto), *BUT* I assume that GPS navigation will be inaccurate when using either, if said antenna is not plugged in.
      As taken from the XAV-AX6000 manual:
      Note: Make sure the GPS antenna (aerial) is connected. For details,
      see “Installing the GPS antenna (aerial)” (page 12).
      Further in the manual, it does say this: When using Apple CarPlay with a wireless
      connection, make sure the GPS antenna (aerial) 
      is connected.

      We have a video coming soon on the Kenwood Excelon yDMX908S, just waiting on delivery of the first units. But honestly, I think the Sony is a better radio in terms of simplicity, the Kenwood will have more features but most will not use those features.

    So this is sad, if you are an audiophile of any type, you will notice the mediocre sound quality of this Sony. I had got this to replace a JVC head unit that had a 24bit DAC, and the sound quality of the old JVC is 1000x better than this Sony crap sounds. This Sony sounds like the first gen iPod with Walmart headphones it's so bad. Even with speaker amplifiers there is no saving the garbage sound quality this Sony produces
