ThoughtfulThug It is just that the leader thinks he should get more, and then he ends up getting all the wealth. All the wealth is spread evenly throughout the people, but the leader and his pals get a bunch more, which is why all the regular citizens have nothing (even though it is evenly spread).
Funkake Communism is the idea that all means of production should be centralized and state run with very little to no private ownership of goods. It's not really about wealth redistribution as the state claims ownership of everything, even the people.
Socialism is more about wealth redistribution than Communism and there is less central planning and micro managing the economy in socialism, but essentially they have very similar goals, Socialism is just not as radical as Communism.
Conan is currently the best late night personality/host on Television. And easily in the top 10 of the greatest. And I know that NOBODY will argue that.

I'm Cuban And i have to admit i cried a little watching Conan being so enthusiastic about cuba and its people
Watching these videos is making me want to visit Cuba.
I highly recommend it before they allow all the commerce that is being planned. Cuba is like going into a time warp, back to the 50s, especially if you're into vintage cars. I could go on and on, but that would be impartial since I was born there and have been back several times.

shurednichso It all depends on what the Cuban government has in mind and what it will allow the U.S. to do i.e. open up McDonalds, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, etc. I don't think they want to do that because that's how it was when Batista was in power, and everyone was getting a piece of the pie, except the ones that were low in the totem pole who got nothing.
you must visit Cuba. The tours are pricey but so worth it!!

In this house was shoot "Strawberry and Chocolate" -1993- (Fresa y Chocolate). Film nominated for Best Foreign Language Film in 1994. Diego, one of the main characters, used to call his house "La Guarida"...
