  • What is The IKEA Effect? In this video, we will be looking into why people value things more when they create them. We will also be analyzing some studies done by Dan Ariely and his colleagues in their famous paper “The ‘IKEA Effect’: When Labor Leads to Love”. There are many conclusions that can apply to our personal lives, consumer lives, and workplace lives. Enjoy the video!

I wonder if home treatment of an illness has people valuing their home treatment with mostly easily available chemicals and items more than if they go to the local Urgent Care or hospital and get similar treatment with doctor prescribed drugs and treatments? Do people have the IKEA effect from home care?

Is this why Markiplier and Toby always say Big Brain or I am a genius when completing a happy wheels level.

I don't know about the Ikea effect.
I do know that I love building things on my own simply because ready made ones are usually out of my budget.
I buy Ikea furniture because there're cheaper.
I built my own amps and speakers because they were cheaper to build.
For me, it's not the Ikea effect, it's the affordability effect.😊
