I have been teaching Russian as a foreign language for over 22 years. Although I live in Kyrgyzstan. I took several trainings on how to conduct an OPI test. And I have been doing them for almost 18 years. This is a good demo, but very often people don't speak that fast, much and correctly.Often the examiner has to ask a lot of questions, people are stressed before the test. Sometimes a person speaks a lot, but his speech is very difficult to understand for people who are not used to communicating with foreigners.Much depends on the examiner. If people who study a foreign language for less than three years ask specific questions about different professional areas, he will not be able to show his knowledge and his level properly.
If I was taking this this test as a person for English as a second language, I would definitely fell from understanding the interviewer 5:45. She isn’t speaking standardly. She’s using too many vocal fillers and idioms. In fact, the person answering the questions has better English than her. Bad sample
Ok. So this tells me whuch questions to ask..yes. but totally unrealistic and not applicable to a non native soeaker, because a nivice cannot speak like a native within the same time period. 🤔 please tell me or clarify how this is beneficial to a foreign language teacher testing novices. Thank you.
A better example would have been interviewing a non-native speaker of English, but at least this showed the organization of the interview. Thank you.

I'm kinda confused....the girl being tested is a native speaker born in the US, right? So this is just to demonstrate how the test might look like.
