- In this step-by-step tutorial, learn how you can create polls before or during your Microsoft Teams meeting. You can set it so attendees can respond before, during, or after the meeting on mobile, web, and desktop. When you launch your poll, it will pop up as a notification on the meeting screen and also appear in the meeting chat window. Attendees can also create ad-hoc polls during a meeting to get quick feedback on the spot.

Thanks, Kev... This saved my presentation this morning ... couldn't even remember how to open Polls ... lol ... but I was able to follow along with you and get my poll set up in time to use it during my meeting. You are the BEST!!!!
Thank you! I will definitely be adding this to my repertoire. Your videos are so easy to follow. Kudos to you.
Kevin's great! Quick, helpful ways to max out Microsoft Teams. As a trainer, polls/quizzes are a perfect tool to create engagement and assess learning as you go. I can't thank you enough, Kevin.

Super helpful! Thank you for sharing, Kevin!
Thanks, Kevin! This was helpful. I'd also like to see creating polls with non-Microsoft apps (e.g. Polly, Survey Monkey, etc.)
A very useful and well-done video, as usual! Thank you!
Thanks for the note Gerhard!
Thanks for this. I can use this functionality in class.
Great step-by-step tutorial.
Thanks. Love from india 🇮🇳🇮🇳
Thanks for your sharing Kevin! Seems that meetings scheduled under specific team work differently when conducting synchronous or asynchronous polls using MS Forms.
How can i see that option + icon to add forms this is not showing up
ok I figured it out. The way I was able to see the + sign was by adding attendees first, otherwise it wont show up. I hope this helps
i did not know this excellent feature! many thanks. This is what I have been searching for a while and have no idea. many thanks
Very nice explanation! Thanks!
I am not able to have forms on my teams during a meeting also without the meeting
1:44: "Once gain, people can vote before, during or after a meeting, so it really should be clear when people can vote." Love it - made me laugh out loud in the room.
I'm creating a poll for tonight's lesson.. Perfect timing Thank you very much indeed Kevin...
Great timing!
Thanks Kevin. Your explanations is very clear and helped me a lot.
excellent video; very informative, easy to follow and succinct! Thanks for sharing :)
You're channel is always my favorite channel and the video was superb
Hi Kevin - love your instructional videos on teams. Could you perhaps let me know whether I can set up a webinar with registration forms, polls', etc. for another person in my team who will be presenting and running the webinar from his computer? I have watched many of your videos and could not pick this up. Have a good day
Thanks for the video! I just wonder whether you can set somewhere that everyone can vote only once and no more. Thanks
ðŸ‘ðŸ¼ðŸ‘🼠I can still put a link to a form in the chat, I assume... But I like the immediacy of doing it this way .... Thanks, Kevin!
Love this!
Thanks a lot. The idea is just awesome
Please make videos on power apps. The way you explain is so clear and awesome. keep up the great job.
Thanks very much Kevin! This is a great overview of a very useful utility, now made much more functional. Incidentally, the way you promote your cookies, they had better be bloody good ;-)
Many thanks ! Been searching for a Kahoot! replacement for days for a team virtual event and this is just so helpful !
Thank you for teaching me something new.
Kevin, Great video as are all your videos! Q: Is there a way to add the "+" button in a meeting created via a channel? I can create the poll as you illustrated in your video directly from MS Calendar. When I go to MS Teams Calendar to add the MS Forms Poll tab in my class meetings created thru the MS Teams Channel, the "+" button is not available to add MS Forms Polls. Any suggestions? Again, thanks for all the great videos you have posted - amazing and easy to follow!
I also don't have the "+" button on Teams. I still have no idea how to prepare polls prior to a Teams meeting - wish it wasn't this hard. So much time wasted. (I added Forms when I went to my calendar in Outlook, but I still can't even see it there...no idea where it went...*sigh)
Thanks for the video. It helped me a lot!
Amazing. Thank you very much.
Very well done!
Thank you ðŸ˜ðŸ‘Œ
I don’t have the Forms button in my meeting. How do I get it?
Great video Kevin! Neck and neck with Zoom :)
Very interesting! Thank you
many thanks!
Hi Kevin, great video :-) 1 question....can you reuse the same pool every week in a recurring meeting or should you create a new poll every time?
Same question

This is a great, easy to follow video learning how to set up polls in Teams. Is there a way in Forms to do a poll with an open ended question that allows participants to type in their responses?
Thanks Kevin 😀
Good video Kevin thanks for share, I have a question: Do you know how create attendance list for meetings in Teams?
Thanks .. good info ðŸ‘
Kevin,
Great video. Do you know of there is a way to limit who can export the results?
Thanks ... ðŸ‘ðŸ‘ðŸ‘

Hi Kevin, thanks you for the video. I have a question, is it possible to create a poll template, to re use in another meeting? The idea is for example to ask a set of questions to customers and be able to analyze responses collected in a unique excel. Thank you
Love it! It was very useful to me
Hi Kevin, thanks for this tutorial, if I may ask is there any possibility that you link multiple MS form under one excel sheet....thanks
Many thanks
Excellent video!
I was going to skip this video, because I thought I knew everything there was to know about using Forms for polls in meetings, but I was wrong. Leaned a few new things. Thanks.
Hi Kevin, Thanks for your video. It is useful. IS it possible to add two or three questions in one poll?
Thanks. Do u get the same option also to limit 1 attempt only to submit a form?
Hi Kevin how do you get all the options in the meeting (whiteboard, polls, etc) from a meeting set up in the Teams Calendar. Currently I have use the Outlook calendar to set up a meeting and then go to the Teams calendar with all the options.
Hey @kevin - do you know how to allow the poll to be answer by guest? They can actually see the poll but cannot answer. While a form can be answer by people outside of your organization. Thanks a ton if you have a tip or workaround.
Thanks for the vid! Learned a lot. Can you please add if you have some time, topic on how to limit multiple response and that when the participant voted, it automatically locks in his vote so that it can no longer be changed???? PLease....
Can you use the polls you create over and over if you have multiple classes that cover the same material?
We have tried Polly and Polleverywhere web services in Live Events. They have instant result graphics that are great. The free accounts only allow 25 responses in a month or meeting...so recurring cost exploded fast. They want subscriptions which we can't use in gov because of cloud based app security restriction. I hope MS continues to develop graphics in results for forms. Thanks for this.
Hello, Kevin!
I have a question. Why can't I add a new tab to my planned meeting (as you do it in the video)? I don't even have this feature (the plus symbol "+" is absent). What's wrong with my Teams application? Do the features available differ depending on the region the Teams application is used?
Hi there, great video! I've created a Teams meeting in a shared mailbox. As this meeting isn't 'my' meeting, is it still possible to obtain editing rights so that I can prepare polls beforehand?
Well Done.. I am non native speaker and i would like to have much more practise in english - but i do understand it really good. And the presentation was also verry good and easy to catch. the only thing that you can improve if you want is: play a bit arround with the speed and the sound, as it sounds sometimes a bit monotone. this could increase the attraction to follow it. but this is for sure complaining on a verry high level. the information is the focus and that is great!
Thanks for all your videos. In this particular topic, When I follow your instructions (go to the metting, select chat with participants, add a tab and forms) I do not get the options you show but instead I just get the option to create or use an existing form. So I cannot launch the polls later, or close them, etc. Maybe it is related with the "new experience" in ms teams?
Do you think this would be a good option for a live scavanger hunt (objects would be scattered through the presentation) or do you have a better option to carry my activity in a teams meeting?
Hi Kevin. I tried running a poll online however only two of four people had a Poll Tab. Is it something to do with whether they access Teams via the Web, or using an on board app? Any suggestions?
Nice, thanks
Indeed, the Kevin Cookie Company is the best cookie company. And your videos are really good. Thank you
We'll have to offer you an executive position at the Kevin Cookie Company. You seem like a great fit ðŸ˜

Thank you this is really useful :-)
Would you consider doing a video around passwords, passwords managers and MFA ?
Sure - I've got this on my list. Is there a password manager that you're most interested in? I personally use Yubikeys for my 2MA and I love them.
@@KevinStratvert Awesome thank you :-) I use dashlane and Yubikey. At work we use bitwarden for our password manager to allow sharing of passwords. I really struggling advising family and friends on how to best manage their passwords and usually end up using in-browser password management, or keepass.
@@KevinStratvert I use LastPass and it has been wonderful !
Thanks for the video. Once launched, everyone can start answering even ahead of the meeting right? Is there way to un-launch?
Prediction. Camet hrough 400k subs!!! Congrats
Do you have to create the meeting invite from Teams to be able to create a poll before the meeting? I normally create Teams meeting invite from MS Outlook and I can't see/access the meeting details from Teams until during the meeting.

Thanks
I needed this
U r so helpful
I cannot find + icon in the detailed meeting view. In fact I only got chat/details/schedule assistant. You have meeting notes and whiteboard tabs, how do I add those extra tabs. Using Teams Ed plan, Poland, Teams ver. 1.3.00.30866
Seems like you cannot add Polls in Channels meetings. You have to create a meeting outside of the channel to add "Polls". Will there be an update where you can add Polls in your channel meetings?
Thanks so much for the headsup! I had this problem just now. But this is indeed the solution. Shame though that it can't be done through a channel meeting.
Hey Kevin, is it possible to prepare 10 questions before the meeting and can we launch the question one by one during while meeting is running???
Is there a way to create other than multiple choice questions - e.g. open text, rating, quizzes etc.?
The poll currently only allows multiple choice questions. For other types, you have to create separately in Forms and then paste the Forms URL into the meeting. You can request additional polling functionality integrated into Teams here: microsoftteams.uservoice.com/
You are fantastic
When the meeting is created in a specific channel you won't have the "+" tab. (use standard forms bot instead - less parameters but effective)
Do not fill the "add channel" element and you will have the option to add "Forms" tab.
I hope this helps
I don't have the plus sign even when I create a new meeting from calendar, even before filling in anything including the channel. I just updated so what else can I try to fix this?
@@j.hadley459 @Kevin me too
@kevin Le fevre - can we create a poll after the meeting?
Great, thank you. But I want to know how you can limit meeting participants to only one response. Thank you.
Could I create a poll in a meeting I did not create? I sometimes help to host meetings, if I could create the questions ahead of time and launch the poll just before the end, that would be great!
Think of running a class over MS Teams. I'm going to have the same surveys every time I run the class. Can I have an arsenal of surveys / survey templates and just add them to a meeting? Or do I have to manually create the surveys every time?
Really useful function, but doesn't appear to be an option for me. When I click into a meeting I only have 'chat', 'details' and 'scheduling assistant' as options at the top of the page. There is no '+'!
Is this feature available when using the Teams Webinar feature?
Hi Kevin! I don't have the add button on my calendar, what should I do to get it.
I believe your admin needs to enable it.
@@KevinStratvert I guess that the above explanation will work only in the chat meetings. I do have the add button in my chatbox. I am able to create the poll during or before the meeting via chat box but I am unable to see the add button while creating a TEAMS invitation via a channel. Any idea on what could be the issue?
@@KevinStratvert I have the same issue. I am an admin but there are no such choice in the admin center for Teams, I´m afraid. The thing is that it works fine in a meeting that are scheduled with individual invitations but when you schedule a meeting in a Teams channel, there are no plus sign to press, to add the poll.
@@Lars365 Yep, if the meetings are scheduled via a teams channel, then I don't think a poll can be created !
Hi, I think this will be in the version. I am using the free version with a 365 subscription and I don't have the calendar menu point and Microsoft Forms is not available when I click the "+" button.
Is it possible to set a timer for people to take the poll ? For example, if I want to give them 10 seconds, is there a way to set that before I launch the poll? Thanks for the video! It was very helpful!
Kevin, I own a Lenovo laptop and an iPad. I’m trying to follow your instructions. However under calendar after I create the meeting, I don’t have the top menú as you do. I have tried other ways, I can add a pool and I see it under the top menu under my Teams general meeting but I cannot make go live. I want an interactive poll as you did. Can you please help?
Hi Kevin. If i want to add any image in question or answer of poll in teams is it possible?
hi dear, wonderful easy applicable video but unfortunately I do not have( + )in my meetings bar to add forms or poll. do you any suggestions to fix that (in the meeting bar I only have (chat details and scheduling assistant)
I dont have the optoin to add tabs + buton at all, only the Chat, Details and Scheduling Assistent. What can i Do?
Same problem here...
Hi , Please make videos about office 365 apps like yammer, delve , etc .. Amazing Videos btw thanks !!
Hi thank for the video how do I design a form that has diff option ans each option has a duration
Kevin Can you suggest how can I effectively conduct the lecture on Numericals ensuring all students are learning. Can you suggest any feature of MS team?
Can a co-presenter also set the meeting options? Or is the organizer the only person who can change any setting in meeting options?
Awesome
How come this changes completely when creating a meeting in an established Team channel? I can create a poll exactly like this for a random meeting in my calendar, but when trying to add the Forms tab to a meeting that I've scheduled inside a Teams channel, it's completely different. Instead of creating a poll, it wants to create an entire form for the channel. This seems like an immense oversight. Please let me know if there's a way to create a pop up poll just like this for meetings scheduled in an actual Team. Thanks!
Video suggestion: taking a register of people attending teams / zoom meetings if you can’t see them all on screen easily or if people join late / leave early?
Thanks for the suggestion! I've added to my list.
Hi Kevin - I don't see the + sign to add the Forms tab. I tried with the TEAMS app and desktop version. ... thanks
Me two , It appears in a few number of meeting but not all
Could you show how to setup polls in live events?
