Such great memories as a young boy watching this 1977 series with my mum. Thank you for posting.

Brearley one of the Greatest Captains of all time. Not a fantastic batsman but an awesome tactician and brilliant mind.

Great job getting all these highlights together, thanks for that! It’s wonderful to see these players again, Boycs, Knotty, Greig, Thommo and all, and I really appreciate it 👍

Knotty changed this game with his outstanding ton, coming in when England were around 80 for 5 with Boycott under pressure and not finding his form until Knotty came to the wicket and immediately put the Aussie bowlers to the sword.

Thanks for uploading. Took me back to being a ten year old in Melbourne and getting interested in test cricket for the first time. Great historic piece too- watching O'Keeffe continually drop short is a reminder of how astonishing it was when Warne demonstrated what a weapon leg spin bowling could be. Thanks again!

Great test match. Boycott returned and really shored up the batting - how we could have done with him in the '76 series! Cynics say he 'ducked' that one because of the fast bowlers but it's nonsense, after he came back he still had to face the Thomson's and Holding's and he came out the other side with plenty of runs. A good knock from Brearley, sadly he rarely replicated that as a batsman but his ability as captain is not in doubt.

As I just said regarding the previous day:
Amongst, if not, the most coherent England sides to watch: seven bowlers, plus Boycott, Brearley, Knott and, wow! Randall!
And, of course, the story-book Randall-Boycott vignette. Brave Brearley, Hendrick, Willis, one could go on.
    Thank-you!

Boys Own stuff, Boycott and Randall. Fine opening by Brearly, too.

Brearley actually batting well! Instead of the normal dab outside off and a nervous glance at the slips.

Brearley's 81 in an opening partnership of 154 was, by far, his best test innings

Actually his half century against Australia in the 6th test at the Oval in 81 was match saver(along with Knott's unbeaten 70 odd) and a far more fluent batting performance in which he didn't play and miss as much as he did in this innings or make as many mistakes. I thought that was a far better knock from Mike.

The state of O’Keeffe’s bowling😆. Little did people know he would morph into the World Class Character Skull, purveyor of genuinely priceless 💀duggery.

Jeff Thomson not looking particularly rapid! He’d probably say he was still bowling at 90mph.
