    The 80D is still a great camera to use. You don't need to have a full frame system, you don't need the EOS-R5, it's about the content and the story behind the photo or video and the 80D can do just that and ignite that spark

    • @johnmarrs
      @johnmarrs  Před 2 lety +4

      100%! Especially when you pair it up with a decent lens the images/video that you can produce are great.
      It’s the lure of new kit that is hard to resist but I’m a big believer in maxing out the camera to its limits before making a new purchase

      I have and still use the 80D. It's a great camera. I don't use it for the video but I use it for the photos. It takes awesome pictures.
      I believe in using something until it can't be used no more. I don't run out and buy the latest and greatest just because I want it. I buy out of need/use. Believe it or not, I still have and use the Canon 1D Mark IV and it still does everything I need and I'll keep using it until it falls apart.

    The one guy thought your transitions were too loud, honestly it is just that your voice audio is too quiet, so we have it cranked up. Forget all that mess about -16db or -12db. I believe the same as MarkusPix. And we are both audio guys. Get it to about -3db, not over, and you will be golden. Because it is always better to have to turn down a video a bit than to have to crank it al the way up (like I have it now) to just try and hear you properly. Great video though, I love my 80D as well, still holds up!

    I bought a Canon factory refurbished 80D in 2019 and I have never regretted it. I shoot landscape and nature photos and it does a wonderful job. It wasn't long before I added a Canon 70-200 lens and doubler for bald eagle and other wildlife photos. I recently purchased a Canon 24-105 lens for everything else. The 80D performs flawlessly with these two lenses. I couldn't be happier.

    I bought a second hand 80D in 2020 to replace my Rebel T3i (which still use occasionally). It really is a fine camera that I used for wildlife birds etc. In March of 2023 I bought a new 90D making my 80D a second backup camera. The combination of the two on a photo shoot is really good. Both so similar I can go back and forth between them seamlessly. The 90D has my Sigma 100-400 for birds and the 80D has my older Sigma 18-250 for landscapes.

    I still have 3 80d, and use R6 as main camera, 80d are still great. Use the right lenses and they produced sharp images and video. Before they are my workhorse camera and has served me well. But I think 90d is better for 2022, you have 4k24p and 120fps at 1080p so its a bit of upgrade without breaking the bank.

    I had the 80D and it really struggled in low light even with a semi wide aperture lens. I liked the features it offered but I got the older 7Dii much better device and superb for wildlife. Sure the 7Dii does not have a tilting screen but the Dual Card slot is bank. The lock on focus, with the 80D, was very disappointing. I think if was as good as the Rebel T7 and that is not saying much lol. There are a lot of people who love the 80D but I was not impressed. Sony A6500 killed the 80D, its biggest drawback was the lack of weatherization like the 80D and robustness but if you look after your gear its all good.

    I loved this video! I did had a quick question, I bought the Canon 80D back when it was just released. Since I was just 16 year olds I kinda just got lured into buying it, due to the vlogging trend on youtube. Couple years and barely used my camera I was looking into buying a 16-35mm lens for my camera since I could start learning on, how to shoot real estate videos with it. I have a degree in real estate and would like to extend my skills within the profession by shooting my own content. At the moment I am really considering buying the lens for my canon or just selling my 80D and buy a new body that is more up to date ?

      Having said that there is a considerable weight difference between camera body. The 77D is lighter and easier to carry if you have small hands but has the same ergonomics.
