niiiiiiiiice👌
20:25 - So, we have lion, scarecrow and tin man...
bruh...I didn't think of that. Also, I'd like this, but that wouldn't be fun
Congrats to Pluto, who's very successfully playing someone with low charisma. Every hesitation you make when you talk, like you're awkward, fits your stats, but makes it fun and charming in its own way. Very good roleplaying !
Especially considering his own charisma is so high.
No wonder his nobleman character has to go on "sappy" adventures with his charisma! 😅
I agree! It also makes the moments when he makes a very intelligent suggestion is shocking & helps to draw me further into the game.
The mental image of 2 super swift and stealthy people walking around with this big lumbering oaf in full plate mail between them is hilarious.
they should just wrap pluto in bubble wrap and carry him :P
Monty does a great job representing how scary fighting gnolls should be.
There’s good reason why nobody likes gnolls.
Minsc agrees. Boo and I despite smelly Gnolls.
Gnolls? Like gnolls from World of Warcraft.
Sticks is a great character, that whole scene was super funny.
Sticks was my favorite character this episode. When he grinned at Pluto and told him to take a seat next to him, I was so happy.
It's Gnoll Country for Old Men.
There will be Gnoll
It took me a good 5 minutes of complete confusion to realize that Jill's cat ears were moving.
It took me a good ... until your comment... to realize that Jill's cat ears were moving.
Literally didn't notice it till I looked at the comments at the 59:58 mark
I haven't been watching the video actively and saw them move and went back to see if they've been moving the whole time
@@lootedcorpse Same. I mostly listen to this while I'm hauling my loads and driving across the country, so I can't really focus on her ears lol
@@dragex6582 they look even funnier when watching at 1.5x!
I see the running theme: Pluto ends up covered in viscera and excrement, every. single. time.
all 3 of them are hilarious but Jill really lives the character.
jil looks like she intakes a metric shit ton of red bull and poptarts before every episode
She's purr-fect. I am by NO MEANS someone who enjoys cats, and she makes a tabaxi look good. The Oxventure, the eurogamer equivalent and even DiceBreaker have nothing on this. Thank you Dungeon Dudes for existing. ❤️
I recently got caught up on Shadows of Drakkenheim and seeing Jill play a completely different character completely throws me off lol she will always, in my heart, be Veo Senja.
@@mitchellculp5623 I still have yet to finish Dungeons, I better savor it while it lasts.
Yeah it’s just another one of the nerd girls who is “oh so quirky “ she’s literally always like that I’d imagine, reveling in her mind at how unique and cool she imagines herself to be in the RP that is her daily life
The audio is better in this episode thanks 🤙👍
Just getting into D&D and Dungeon Dudes has been an amazing resource! I’ve also been checking out a few campaigns on some other channels, and I look forward to yours the most! Absolutely the most entertaining and natural. The DM should start awarding Inspiration points; these players bring the characters ALIVE. Bravo.
Agreed. It is inspiring to all of us who cannot do a voice to save our lives see characters come alive
It’s great that as a new player you found this channel! Out of all the D&D/RPG channels I’ve watched this one is the most realistic & natural. So many of the ones I’ve seen have encounters which are obviously scripted to make sure they are more entertaining. While all the decoration, costuming, props & scripted encounters on other channels can be entertaining to watch…they cause many new players to expect all gameplay to be unrealistically like that. But channels like this one shows what good gameplay looks like. However even though it’s extremely realistic…if you don’t have a good DM as well as a good group of players your gameplay either won’t be as good or at least won’t flow as smoothly. A good DM can keep the game flowing well despite having a couple new or bad players & a good group of experienced players can keep help a new a game flowing with an inexperienced DM.
Hope you find a good DM & group to enjoy learning to play the game.
I'm loving these and look forward to watching these every Friday. This campaign is now my background listening at work. Especially for a non-professional production, you guys are doing amazing; keep it up. I also love that Jill's cat ears are getting bigger and bigger with each episode, lol. Love and Aloha from Hawaii! Also, you know what I think would be great? If you guys did a 15-20 minute "debrief" of each episode talking about the game mechanics involved in the episode as a teaching tool so we can learn from watching practical examples from the episode!
just noticed Jill's/Veo's ears adjust as she moves her head. that's awsome haha
and congrats to Joe/Pluto on joining the head adornments.
Monty's laugh at 44:47 is so delightfully unhinged. I'm mad at myself for missing out on this campaign for so long
I am really enjoying this campagin. A good dm with good players😀
I love the constant gag of Pluto's armor just getting covered in horrible muck, grime and everything inbetween when all he wants is to be a shiny, noble knight lol
Excellent story-telling guys. I wish my group was as on the ball as you are.
word
I haven't played D&D in like 20 years or so....got AD&D stuff and wizards+priest spell compendium (~10 books, shittons of spells) in my bookshelf. When I found out about the Dudes, I kept digging into my old D&D rules and online SRD and am sloooooowly getting addicted again. Great job guys....this series is great on audio-only too while traveling. Keep on rolling (the dice)!
Veo's ears move!! level up to level 4!! Never change a winning team.
really? when? xD
After reading these comments I had my eyes glued on the ears.... I haven't seen any movement. I am convinced now I've been successfully trolled lol.
@@rbkskillz they definitely rotate
Sebastian needs a cloak! I am loving these videos guys... makes my week. I can't wait to see all the fan art that will come as this is sure to become a hit series!!!!!
Cloaks are cumbersome and would hook, drag and get in the way (especially if he tries manipulating the playing pieces). He might get away with a smaller cape, but it probably would still interfere in things.
>chance to introduce themselves
>WE ARE VEO AND THE JACKSON 3 CROWS
Wow. Sebastian explaining not wanting to see his dad because he doesn't feel quite accomplished enough is so real.
Agreed, Kelly is an excellent roleplayer.
Loved how the Milestone is tied to them accomplishing character development too. Annnd the fact that it created a great cliffhanger was prooobably a factor too 😉
"I saw my Dad and leveled up" had me LOL'ing. Really liking this series so far, can't wait to watch the next 3 seasons 😁
No dogs here! Hyenas are not members of the dog or cat families. Instead, they are so unique that they have a family all their own, Hyaenidae. There are four members of the Hyaenidae family: the striped hyena, the “giggly” spotted hyena, the brown hyena, and the aardwolf (it's a hyena, not a wolf).
Feliform is a suborder which includes cats. While not exactly the same species that are closer in relation to cats. They split between hyenas and cats is similar to the split between humans and apes.... Even though we are more closer related to chimps and bonobos.
This is such awesome entertainment! You have such a charismatic group and the battlemaps are incredible, I wish I could have a dwarven forge collection, looks amazing.
Great campaign and story
also Jill is so adorable 😁
"What if I am a hero?" *dramatic music picks up* LOL Perfect timing.
I'm glad Joe got a helmet. That way he won't hurt himself. ;D
That and now they all have their own brand of head gear XD
Joe had a helmet. He made a new one as his prior one was too cumbersome to wear.
Yeah I've been finding myself looking foward to this episode a lot, excited to see what happens in Drakkenheim. Really like this setting, makes me want to use it in a campaign. Also love these players, one of the first D&D streams that the players seem to know to play D&D well... haven't facepalmed once watching combat like I usually do with other campaigns. Also should turn on subs on twitch ( like take my money already damnit)
The camera placement for this one is excellent, loved the way the map was displayed. It could be better if there were zooms and what not, but the production value is very good. Love it!
Watching this stream has got me playing Mordheim on PC again.
How D&D should be. I'm a new player and spend every day watching your videos. Thanks so much for the countless hours of entertainment and inspiration!
Awesome group, marvelous DM (I love the way Marty describes enemies and the surrounding)... I'm so impressed... You are great, I am totally up for the "Jackson's Pussycat crows"...
I love the idea of running a game that takes place in this massive urban-scape. Gets my gears turning for my own homebrew stuff.
I don’t know what was funnier.. the dog jokes or the cracks about the four human size turtles. And the zombie boat man..
He was basically Charon.
This is extremely well done - love the addition of the layout and miniatures in play
I know im late to the party, but was the turtules in the sewers a Ninja Turtules easter egg??
And their names were Botticelli, Titian, Caravaggio and Lucas Cranach the Elder.
I'm fairly certain
There are so many little Easter eggs like that sprinkled about! I thought the fox, hen, and grain puzzle by the river was hilarious.
This series brings a lot of joy into my day. Kelly's "hot dog" joke around the 50 minute mark actually caused a laugh that made my own dog stare at me like "you're losing it man."
"He's quoting scripture". I love that line. Especially with me being Christian and hearing that all the time
Right? I feel like the Falling Fire vs Sacred Flame is like Christianity vs Judaism in the early days, which makes it that much funnier that we're calling the falling fire a cult
The language coming from the Falling Fire preachers gives me such shivers. This is the language used to convince people to sacrifice themselves for some divine goal. I guess this makes me a suspicious fellow, but I'm definitely intrigued to see where they go.
She knows someone that she has nicknamed "Styx" and they'll help them cross the river, huh?
If it were me, I'd say, "No thanks. Let's take the long way around. I'm still alive, and I've no reason to cross the River Styx just yet."
Just found you guys. Love your gameplay.
Very witty bunch! Y'all get plenty lol's from me throughout each episode.
Monty, you're a top-tier DM.
Thanks for the fine work & entertainment!
I am loving this series. The situations and challenges are so varied... and every session has some tense combat that could turn badly with just a few bad dice rolls.
Love "at this moment im gonna have you all do a stealth check", both of them eye pluto's dice on the roll!
Love the Dwarven Forge sets, love the Map of Drakkenheim, love playing Mordheim as I listen to this broadcast! Thanks for the entertainment guys and gals!
Matthew Dunigan you are right. Great visual.
1:05:05 reminds me of the bridge riddle where you have to figure out how to get a fox, a chicken, and grain/chicken feed across a gap without anything dying or losing any food.
I think it was also in poptropica. Did any else realize the relation too the riddle?
Oh yeah it's utterly hilarious
You know I'm only three episodes in and I think I adore this series already
1:10 If you keep hounding it you'll probably find some more dog jokes.
I'll show myself out.
Illoney Do you mean to flee so quickly?
I think you made a real dog's dinner out of that one.
That battle was ruff, but they licked it. Take a bow. Wow!
You curs!
Good.
Giuseppe kind of put a tear in my eye dude
Love your shirt this episode Kelly!
I love how Pluto (the prince) was like "I know someone famous!" When he saw Crow's name on the blacksmith sign 😂😂😂 what a goofy but somehow expected thing for him to say 😂😅
You guys are so much fun. Props to the DM for creating such cool stories. Gj.
First time I noticed that you guys have this campaign going. That's awesome :D I'll totally start watching your campaign :D
Thanks! We had some technical issues in the first two episodes, but the third time was the charm :)
@@DungeonDudes I can understand. I'm happy to see to see that the campaign is up though. Especially since the campaign seem to have an interesting story :)
I normally listen to audio books or podcast but this is just as good! And I'm actually learning alot :)
“Not all dogs go to heaven.” Kills a gnoll
This is awesome! I just read modules and create characters by myself. Kinda sucks man, but these sessions are fantastic!
Edward Brown I can relate to this.
Edward Brown you guys should try an adventurers league or online server if you struggle to find people to play with.
@@jensl5956 AL isn't always an option. Myself, I live in a rural enough area that I doubt there's a group in over a hundred miles that isn't a few friends hanging out. Online can work, but not everybody wants to play online, or knows how to get started even if they do.
We can all join in at home!
I know that now (in 2020) we are all pretty much in the same boat; having to play online or... ah-hem... play with ourselves. Have you tried Frostgrave, for some solo dungeoneering fun?
Awesome job guys! Like everything you do, this is first rate all around.
Can't believe Pluto missed the chance to make a dog butt sniffing gag when he cut the gnolls snout off!!
Great episode keep it up.
Bro that Knoll laugh is perfect! 😆You must have practice that lol
I am officially hooked. Great job!
I am really enjoying this campaign Monty, Kelly, Jill and Joe. I have only ever played D&D campaigns with one DM. That DM watches Critical Role on a weekly basis, as do I.
I look forward to your sessions every week now. I have watched everything you have made and learned a great deal.
Thanks.
I'm hypnotized by Jill's rotating ears..
Alright. I look forward to this video on Fridays now. Keep up the amazing work!
Loving this campaign, totally hooked! Keep it going 🙂
2:32:45 "Yeah! I'm a house cat!"
Im so pleased Pluto got another dog pun in there. "Did you here my line?"... I heard it Pluto... I heard it.
I love how Kelly starts off with the noblest intentions of saving the kids...only to end up scarring them for life
Man that battle was ruff
This makes me so happy. You guys are really an interesting bunch. I've got to get my party to watch these
I'm a bit behind, but this is great stuff! The setting just breeds crazy stories that could go nowhere or be huge. Do it to it!
oh my god sticks' reaction to veo patting him on the back and being very loud and positive is so fucking hilarrious
I'm really late to the party, but I really love your adventure.
Campaign is getting spicy! Excited for more. Hope ya'll are having fun.
Another great episode, thanks for doing these!
Great show. I'm very impressed and find the role play and tactical decision making of non actors a refreshing change from the over the top antics of critical role.
Well played and well DMd.
Been watch this while on my paid vacation from work. Your my new tv series and I'm gonna be so mad when i finish drakkenheim videos
This is fantastic. You guys are awesome :)
Loved the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas reference!
moving Tabaxi ears sooo cute
Great episode Guys and Gals.
I'm completely snowed into my apartment, and I'm HOWLING (get it? doggos?) at the gigglefest (cause Heroforge refers to the Gnolls as "GiggleDogs" - I'm gonna get blocked, doggonit!) and the Sticks/Styx/Grandpa Giuseppe moments.
I really wanted Pluto and Sebastian to TRIPLE DOG DARE each other for something!
I love seeing where a lot of the deep story inside jokes are beginning. PORKCHOPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bloody hell!!
Monty GMs gnolls so well.
Truly scary stuff.
Loving this series!
wasn't able to catch this one (College stuff) but glad I can still watch the recording! I'll try to make it to the next live show.
Been a follower of your tips and review videos for a while, but since backing the KS and beginning to read the pdf I thought I'd better start watching and am do very glad I did.
Monty's gnoll laugh was perfect.
Watching this way late, obviously, but I've been struck in this and the first episodes with how good a DM Monty is. The players are really good, too, but I like the atmosphere he sets - challenging, but you always get a sense that he loves it when his characters get cool moments and wants them to do well, without making it seem easy. Really good social intelligence and something to learn from and emulate.
Pluto starts laughing after he guts the tief. Thats how you become a gnoll
I like how the whole goal of the session was simply to get safely to town and then all those little events happened.
This makes me miss dnd so much😢
Pluto: "Is he the same?"
Sebastian (in my Head): *Backhands*
So awesome!
You guys are great. So funny. I wish I had friends like you.
Damn guys. I enjoy your stuff. it's great to listen to while playing minecraft.
I love this story.
That miniature setup is outstanding.
"what's the name of the queen's majordomo?"
Missed opportunity to say "Yes, of course, their name is... Burning Hands."
And then casting burning hands right onto the guy
So its 2021 and just discovered the setting on the Kickstarter, which I funded for my Leonore's Trinkets but, hey, here I am now: the 3rd episode in two days. I confess Dungeon Dudes were not my favorite channel of D&D content. I'd rarely watch it. But I'm loving Monty DM'ing and the guests are so funny. Joe is so funny playing either in character and out of character!
Thank you! Glad to have you here, enjoy the ride!
True heroism in this episode.
My wife happened to walk by when you mentioned the speed Veo achieved in that one round. She thought that was crazy, so I guess I hadn't told her about how the heavy homebrew group I DM for has a character in it that can, at any point, achieve 4,200 feet of movement for a turn. If that sounds crazy to you, just imagine creating enemies that can fight a party of 4 characters equally insane.
In case anyone wonders, I did the math and that's 477 miles per hour, or 767 kilometers per hour.
Your setting REALLY reminds me of Anke-Morpork.
that aside, ( and I love diskworld), even without the similarities, this is a very enjoyable series. when I finish with it, I will have to see what else you have released.
