Snow plows were out in force on Thursday afternoon in Rapid City as a Winter Storm Warning was issued for the area. Snow accumulated on area roadways and shoulders, making for icy driving conditions. Combined with low visibility on I-90, drivers were advised to use caution when traveling through the area. The storm is expected to taper off overnight as it moves eastward.
    Package includes:
    Driver POV on I-90
Multiple clips of three snow plow convoy clearing roads
    I-90 signage
    Trucks at snowy truck stop

Why doesn't that pickup truck following the plow trucks have his lights on.

It wouldn't harm would it! I think it's because it's daytime and he knows he or she has huge flashing amber lights on the roof so "who cares!" Kind of thing. So many people don't even realise you have to take action on your light switch to make you rear running lights come on, why? Because the front running lights small lights come on automatically in Canada when the engine starts as a safety for pedestrians feature. Even the dashboard lights are on on some cars! No lights at the back! I pulled up next to a guy at the traffic lights, so I rolled down my window And informed them (as they looked reasonable, if you're not a good judge of personality - don't do this)! You could tell the guy had driving that vehicle for the longest time yet had no idea his lights were off at the rear Do you know how serious this can be? Imagine this scenario, indulge me, you slow down to a crawl on the highway as you're in a jam, it's nighttime. Your brake lights a working fine. You have to stop. Then you realise it's going to be a while. You put on the parking brake and remove you're foot from the foot brake. The brake lights go out at the rear now your in a queue on the highway at night with no lights at the rear and you're "tail-end-Charlie"! I very nearly smashed onto the rear of someone just like that and not because their rear lights weren't on, but excuse being stopped they had taken their foot of the foot brake and there were no brake lights showing so I thought they were still moving away from me at 110kph or so, it's only towards the last few meters you realise they're getting bigger more quickly than you realised!! It's one of the most dangerous things you can do on a highway - to stop on a highway and remove your foot from the brake pedal! Unless you're on the hard-shoulder, the emergency lane and then you should have your flashing Hazard Warning Lights on!

"Why no red lights on at the back of that pick-up truck?"
Yeah, it couldn't harm, could it! I think it's because it's daytime and he/she knows he or she has huge flashing amber lights on the roof so "who cares!" Kind of thing. Thats wrong, it all helps us be seen, so many people don't even realise that you have to take action on your light switch to make your rear running lights come on, why? Because the front running lights - small lights come on automatically in Canada when the engine starts as a safety feature for pedestrians to see you coming. Even the dashboard lights are on - on some cars, with no lights at the back! I pulled up next to a guy at the traffic lights, so I rolled down my window and told them (as they looked reasonable, if you're not a good judge of personality - don't do this)! You could tell the guy had been driving that vehicle for the longest time yet had no idea his lights were off at the rear. Do you know how serious this can be?...
...Imagine this scenario, indulge me please, you slow down to a crawl on the highway as you're in a jam, it's nighttime. Your brake lights a working fine and now you have to stop. Then you realise it's going to be a while. You put on the parking brake and remove you're foot from the foot brake to relax, consequently, the brake lights go out at the rear! Now you're in a queue, on the highway, at night, with no lights at the rear and you're "tail-end-Charlie"!
I very nearly smashed into the rear of someone at speed in just that way, and not because their rear lights weren't on, but because with their being stopped they had taken their foot of the foot brake and there were no brake lights showing, so I thought they were still moving away from me at 110kph or so, it's only towards the last few meters you realise they're getting bigger more quickly than you realised!! It's one of the most dangerous things you can do on a highway - to stop on a highway and remove your foot from the brake pedal! 2:58 Unless you're on the hard-shoulder, the emergency lane and then you should have your flashing Hazard Warning Lights on!
