my dad was the local policemen in our town . he hated bikes with a passion. i however loved them . he dragged a 1973 series of this machine home . he said " you have a week to get it running and working .you manage it you keep it . you dont i scrap it and we never mention bikes again" i got it running much to his disgust . rest is history . thank you for reminding me of a childhood memory . good luck with your museum .
I had one just like this one. I had fun restoring and riding it. Then I traded it for a modern Trials bike. Yes, that's the original seat in the video.
I had the 250 version of this model.. That plastic tank was an option at the time-- as the standard tank was painted, fibre-glass coated aluminium. Great bike, except that when you were in thick mud the reduced clearance between the rear wheel and mudguard/air filter box (due to the shorter swingarm) meant that the bike could literally be brought to a standstill when thick mud built up between the wheel, guard and swingarm. And yes, that's the original seat. UK bikes came with Pirelli MT13 tyres. Standard Betor shocks were different from those you have fitted (at least for UK). :0)
