The difference between both artists is fluidity. Daryl Ong is excellent in interpreting the song without cut on its melody. Ed Sheeran is just like reading a poem, stopping on each stanza.

Daryl Ong IMO has the better voice in all notes and techniques.. Ed i hear a lot of straining and noticed shortness or cut off words in the upper range. Sheeran's is a much better production 2: The feel doesn't suit Daryl, his version feels much too cheesy-soul , so, even though his voice is good it's inappropriate / doesn't work . it's too sentimental. With other songs Daryl's cool., but not here. You need to listen harder and think in a more nuanced way before you make these reactions.
