Can still remember the day I heard the report over the radio of his passing. I was smoking with my hmboy and hmgirl in the car tripping out clowning and laughing then it blasted on the radio and the mood went from happiness to sadness in an instant. Aint gonna lie I cried because I felt I lost a great friend even though we never knew each other. Then they blasted life goes on and that just broke my heart. Love Tupac to this day may he rest in peace in knowing he made an impact on this world for generations to come.
I was 30 years old when Pac passed away...I followed him all the way from digital underground thru his whole career. As a grown man I was devastated when this happened. Not afraid to admit I cried too, Pac is the G.O.A.T his passing left a huge hole on the hip hop/rap culture.
Obviously his career wasn't on PACs level but that's basically the same way it happened with me when I heard about mac. Still gutted and it's been years

Listening to Death Row East and hearing the audio at the end, I knew exactly what moment it was. It gave such a nice touch and tribute to Tupac. Nas is such a great storyteller. The song was pure classic and one of my favorite from KD II

y'all tryna make me look like I hate Nas or something man, he's one of my favourite rappers of all time and illmatic is more than exceptional, but one thing about Nas is he's not consistent, although biggie only dropped 3 albums they were all immaculate, Nas on the other hand you could see inconsistency in the quality of his work
omi won It was written was a very good album also I am had some really good production Godson was really good and even Life is good was alright just because they weren't as good as illmatic doesn't mean Nas wasn't consistent illmatic is universally recognized as the greatest Hip Hop album of all time it's impossible to make another like it Nas is more lyrical than Biggie and flat out a better rapper I don't think Bigge or Nas are the King of NY I think Big L is but Nas blows Biggie away as a lyricist he's on another level than Biggie people overrate Biggie there were were a handful of rappers from NY that were better than him Rakim, Immortal Technique, Nas, GZA, Big L, Canibus, were all better than Biggie imo.
I respect your opinion you seem like you know what you're talking about but everyone knows Biggie's title is the king of NY and there's no doubt Biggies flow was untouchable: "she was forced to kick me no doubt, then I figured out nicks went for twenty down south" that line kills it, not only does it sound good but it actually related to his life as he sold nickel bags of heroin to live. Everyone rates him on his more known tracks such as Big Poppa and Juicy, they're great tracks too but he has better tracks lyrically. I must agree with you on illmatic as being one of the best albums of all time the story telling was exceptional but comparing that album to his rest, illmatic shows them up. Biggie had 3 extremely consistent albums compared to Nas. Nas suggests himself he was dead in the game for a while in stillmatic "y'all just piss on me spit on my grave". Stillmatic was his revival and that had a bunch of great tracks such as Ether and My country. That's my opinion anyway.

I remember crying like he was my relative when I heard the news. It was the same for Biggie. Both gone way too soon!
I remember the day he died. Pac was fighting for his life for a few days after he got shot. Then the news reported he died. I was in disbelief that I ran to my sisters sleeping fiancé in the bedroom, woke him up and told him “Pac died”. He jumped out ran to the tv and we both couldn’t believe it. I was 21 at the time. My generation.

I remember the days Pac & and BIG died. When Pac died I didn't go outside to play with my friends or watch cartoons. It was hard. One of the rare times I saw my mother cry because she loved him. And when BIG died I did the same, I didn't go outside, watch cartoons or play my N64. I looked up to both of them growing up and love Hip-Hop because of them. Didn't have my father around alot as a kid but these men have taught me alot from television that my own father in-person failed to. I'll never forget Pac & BIG and will always remember what I learned from them.
