    I have had 2 Tundra's so far. A 2007 Limited, and my present 2018 Platinum. I have used both trucks to tow my Airstream travel trailer all over the continental United States, and both of them have been 100% reliable, with ONLY routine maintenance needed. I only bought the 2018 because I wanted the radar cruise control and larger fuel tank for towing. As I have traveled the US, I have received superb service from EVERY Toyota dealership that I have encountered along the way. From San Diego to Maine, the dealer's have been spectacular. The Capstone trim level is VERY tempting, as is the hybrid power plant. I would be very interested in comments from owners of this new engine who use their Tundra to tow a lot. I would also like to read comments about the larger wheels and low profile tires as used for towing. Thanks Toyota for a fantastic super reliable truck!

    Toyota stopped doing the solid single piece rear bumper because despite sensor technology, their customers were still backing into things and damaging them. Their customers kept complaining about having to replace the entire piece. So it became multi-piece because people still don't know how to drive.

    Looked at one last week and loved it till the dealership told me no discount and a " Dealer Price Adjustment" of + $3000.00 . Window sticker said approx $83,000 but they wanted $86,000 . Add taxes and reg came up to over $95,000 . Some day the truck markets going to finally fall and I hope everyone remembers the dealerships that have been adding there own " Dealer Price Adjustment" or as some call it " Dealer Price Marketing " . Also looked at the new 2024 Tacoma and they had a $5000.00 " Dealer Price Adjustment" .

    I currently have a Tundra and now I want a new one! Great presentation! Regarding tow hooks, I would like removable panels with screw in tow hooks. I like my solid steel front and rear bumpers. Love the button to drop the tailgate and the air bags with the self leveling head lights!

    I'm a function over form type of person. How it looks is secondary to how it functions. Having said that, I do like how it looks and I have taken them for test drives and they function well too! The biggest drawback to buying one is that you can't order one just the way you want it. I don't know if Toyota is just that arrogant or if there is something else going on, but being forced to buy one the way Toyota wants to build it instead of they way you want it built is a big negative.

    Nice, but too rich for me, all of the new trucks are ridiculous on price. It would be cheaper to find an old truck and replace the engine, trans, axles, etc. If the prices don't improve, that will probably be the my hobby when I retire.

    Does the target customer need tow hooks? I'm not judging anyone for not taking trucks off road, but if I owned it the only reason to use 4x4 would be snow. The luxury vibe doesn't need row hooks in my opinion

    • @BrickyardPowerMan
      @BrickyardPowerMan Před 8 měsíci +2

      Snow. Parking in a field while at an Apple orchard or corn maze. Lots of situations where tow hooks are used that is not off-roading.

  • @markreams3192
    @markreams3192 Před 8 měsíci

    If you don’t take your truck off road then tow hooks aren’t really necessary. A lot of disappointment has been expressed by those who take their trucks off road. Other than a few trucks that experienced turbo waste gate issues (supplier issue) and couple of small complaints about rattling side windows and a plastic piece on the side of the seat breaking this has been a very reliable truck that should last. I would prefer a lower trim with a bit more payload and tow capacity but that is a very nice truck. I am a Toyota fanboy. Toyota trucks are the only vehicles I’ve owned that have gone past 100,000 miles without need of repair! I value this above all of the high tech wizardry! I have a gen 3 Tacoma with 80,000 miles without any repair needed. My only wish is that Toyota would offer the diesel engine from the Hilux in the Tacoma.

    • @kristoferbrown8007
      @kristoferbrown8007 Před 7 měsíci

      Yes, but with a bed mat it's the perfect material. Very durable compared to just painted steel or aluminum.

    If they can make a v6 that powefull why can't we have a v8 that is high horse power and fuel efficient. I hate this new push to v6s it did not work in the 80s it dosent work today.

  • @shugunga
    @shugunga Před 8 měsíci +1

    My 2014 Tundra SR5 had leveling headlights. They weren't auto but worked great. Personally, they're hideous. The previous generation was the end of Toyota full size trucks for me. That v6 will not tow crap. The 5.7 had torque and would pull, but the 8 speed shifted constantly and don't even think about cruise control. That 10 speed will be comical. Good luck.

  • @kathithompson5951
    @kathithompson5951 Před 8 měsíci +1

    Aren't Tundra just half ton towable?

  • @wmcnett
    @wmcnett Před 8 měsíci

    I don't like taking smaller engines and turbocharging them to get comparable output to v8s. There's no replacement for displacement. Nice looking ride, though. Too pretty to be useful?

  • @jamesbass9797
    @jamesbass9797 Před 8 měsíci +6

    Truck is ok but it is a no go with me. No engine choices and the engine they do use is no good for towing. This engine will not last if it's used for towing. The heat produced by two turbos will absolutely melt the internals in the engine after prolonged use and even sooner if used for towing. Big mistake by Toyota by not having V8 engine options. Especially, for towing.

    It doesn't actually make thay much power... Its bullshit marketing! They combine the peak output of the engine and motor. When the engine is at peak output the motor pretty much offer no assistance. I wish SAE would have output based off of a hub dyno to make the engine output even. I think the automatic front spoiler is why no tow hooks.
