my only criticism of career coaches like joan is they focus on everything else but the most important attribute of all i.e. be good at what you do. it couldn't be more clear than her response to 3 questions. 1. freedom or money? joan: money. 2. what scares you? joan: poverty. 3. what is your hidden talent? joan: ops (business operations i.e. activities that businesses engage in on a daily basis to increase the value of the enterprise and earn a profit). see, joan will help you be a master of how you present to others but won't help you determine your actual individualistic value and increase it. joan is the "humanification" of instagram - don't bother having any value, just look like you do. or better said, fake it till you make it. i know that this is great advice for especially people who have value, but i wish we spent more time talking about having value, rather than looking like we do. her approach to career coaching is extremely shallow.
