@@lilobungus1572 Macro camera is much more useful, trust me. Even at that low resolution, it is above 1080p, and I’ve actually gotten some interesting shots with 2MP macros on a spare Moto G Fast I have.

I think they deliberately messed up software processing of photos to make their higher priced models look better. This is the problem with OnePlus. Instead of taking a positive route, they use such shady tactics...

That ultra nightmode blew me away
The sensor is at 1/1.52 larger than the hyped and advertised phone for it's larger sensor iPhone 12pro Max at only 1/1.7 inch.
Meaning it's of course good enough by hardware to do so.
Should see the ultra night mode on Oppo X2 Pro ;)

Yeah... MediaTek chipset, 65 Watt Charging, Upgraded camera, as good as it gets! They only need to make minor changes for the Nord 3 to make it perfect i.e. water rating and 120Hz display

Definitely a flagship killer with some amazing features. The smart Mediatek Dimensity 1200 chipset is really good in the smartphone.

I dumped iPhones for OnePlus 3 and 6T. Each was great for two years. The OnePlus 9 is a hot mess I was forced to unload in just 3 months. The phone is unusable in summer or warmer climates, has to be turned off outside. If this Nord runs cooler and within more appropriate parameters there should be a recall of the 9s and this phone should be offered instead. Unfortunately I had to give up on these clowns altogether when they secretly throttled the 9 instead of admitting it was a piece of shit. My Mi 11 Lite is all I need and it was only $319.

Nice review, but I think you shouldn't only take still video footage. And maybe you could also talk a bit about how the camera performs compared to phones at a similar price.
Oxygen OS was the main selling point of oneplus... The new UI seems heavy.. hope they don't add bloatware like other Chinese counterparts

kinda hard decision to make as I plan to upgrade from my Oneplus 5T, I know that I don't need the top-performing phone as I don't play mobile games very often but the features I need are mostly on found on the flagship ones (Oneplus 8T or 9) but I'm hesitant to spend that about of cash again like what I did buying the 5T at launch.

It seems like a nice package. The Mi 11 is doing great, the better camera and chipset of the Nord 2 aren't what I'm after. It's Oxygen OS. I'm not an AOSP elitist and I actually like many aspects of MIUI but man does it feel half-baked :c

I now have a samsug A52 5g that I will sell to my brother because it has too heavy an interface and multimedia audio level (even if the headphone jack is present) did not convince me in terms of performance .. according to your experience the north 2 is it a valid and an upgrade that is worth? i use bose soundsport headphones with aac and sbc codecs are supported by the device? thanks for your time Luca

I'm not sure if I'm just confused and don't know how to set it up, but for me main issue with Nord 2 is lack of notification light when phone is locked. I had 5t earlier and now I really miss that discrete notification green or white dot on the corner of the screen when I have new msg or mail. I didn't see anyone talk about it on this reviews so if you have a solution please advise.

Oxy OS inside Nord2 has a Color OS touch, far from Stocks. Meanwhile, the Ultra Night Mode is great.

I'm looking for a new phone. The most important thing would be a top of the line camera (front and back). I don't care about videogames or fancy high refresh-rate displays (OLED would be nice tho), just that the phone performance is snappy. Would anyone have any suggestions?

Nord 2 5G vs Samsung A52s 5G? Or maybe Redmi Note 10 Pro? Realme 8 Pro? What to choose? I don't play video games, I just use several apps (bank, sports channel app, delivery apps, Viber & WhatsApp and social networks apps), so I'm an average user and that's it. I've been using Huawei for years, but it's time for change due to this problem with Google. :/

But the price is a killer cause i don't believe the price fits what you get out.
Almost everything is identical to last year's Nord except for the chip and stereo speakers but much higher price.
Upgrade in chipset, charging nd camera... that will surely cost extra

i can't choose between these two which one to buy, the xiaomi has macro camera that the one plus doesn't and also im worried abotu battery life degrading cause of that insane 66wat charger , also worried about oneplus updates if they are not consistent but the oneplus has a better camera .

Nord 2 has memory ufs 3.1 better than 2.1 on galaxy a52s
Premium quality design front and back gorilla glass 5 ( a52s is plastic feels like a toy in comparison to nord2, the looks are amazing its like u holding an expensive phone) stereo speakers are much louder and clearer on nord 2
main camera is a flagship sony imx 766 sensor that is much better in lowlight photograpy than a52s
video on nord 2 is noticeably more stable dont know if its a bug on a52s or it is how it is.
smooth os no bloatwear better bluetooth and wifi connectivity 65 wat warp charger battery full in 30mins while lasting whole day and i still have 15-20% left
Antutu score on my nord 2 is 680 000 while on a52s is barely 500 000 which proves that a52s is a good phone but more on the mid range category but nord 2 more in the upper midrange category but in the end i guess is up to personal preference what phone you like better if u are looking for premium design ,better performance, extremely fast charging while also having great camera Nord 2 is for you. And if great camera with macro mode , water resistance , and lower budget are your priorities go for the a52 but nord 2
