I'll tell ya what Kevin I'm glad you have a soft spot for these saws I've always liked them for the simple fact they are a mid priced saw that's reliable, easy to get parts for and from mine and my dad's own experience run forever it's one of those saws if you have a husky guy or a stihl guys ask what you use they don't seem to have much issue when you say echo good on joey buying the 590 I love mine
Thanks Kevin !! Yeah man I’m really happy I pulled the trigger on this saw, I’m very pleased with it. I’ve been getting more comfortable around it and I’ve been learning a lot from your videos and my own experience and I’ll tell ya what I’m having a blast running a chainsaw. Thank you so much for all the help on and off CZcams I really appreciate it. Oh yeah I forgot to tell you I really think I’m getting the hang of sharpening I’ve been doing what you told me and it’s like I had an epiphany and it just clicked one day. Now I know what it’s like to use a sharp chain and it’s night and day difference to what I thought sharp was before. 👍

im not much of a chainsaw guy but i love all the info. what i did love was the buck 110! i was given one in 1990 and i still use it regularly. i love a knife that can double as a hammer.
Heck yeah man buck 110 is an awesome knife / hammer 😂 .. this one dates to 1983 I believe. It holds an edge for a long time. It’s all good man I appreciate toy still watching though man, I hope I don’t start turning people away with the chainsaw stuff. I promise my channel is still predominantly be about axes 👍
@@940joey2 i dont mind a chainsaw video or any other tree cutting tool video. but the axes are what got me here. i think when i subscribed was when you were first kinda learning and practicing axemanship. now its chainsaws. onward and upward.

Holy crap man ive been looking for new dogs for a minute the stock one works ok but its worn and likes to not do its job ive been looking for a double set one because mines bad and 2 a dual set just looks badass 😂 i just ordered a set from that link good video brother glad to see you liking your 590 as much as i like mine

Yeah dude I’m loving this saw I’m so happy I chose this one when I was looking for a saw to buy, I’m very pleased with how the saw performs.

These are decent spikes but with much use they will break. The outside spike i had to drill the holes bigger to fit n the studs are almost to short with the outside spike.
Ahh dang man that’s a bummer sorry to hear that. Yeah I can definitely see that the thickness of the spikes do take up a bit of length on the bar studs. Hopefully they last a decent while if not maybe I’ll try making my own. Thank so much for watching 🤙

Why do you lift up on the bar when you tighten the chain?
Lifting up on the bar puts the bar in its most natural position since most cuts will be made pushing down on a piece of wood. It also helps prevent the chain from gaining slack since the bar is in its most natural position.
