It's set 40 years after the New Batman series. Not sure how old he was then, but that would put him in the 70-80 range for Beyond, I guess. Michael Keaton is 63.

I just have so much respect and admiration for Michael Keaton. An extremely talented and versatile actor, and no ego whatsoever.
Keaton has been one of my all time favourite actors. There is something about him, a strange quality that no other actor has. Besides, he has the best sense of humor I can imagine, quick responding and witty and always spot on.
Nicholson sounds cool. I'm going to calling Keaton "Keats" from now on because of him.

You know what, it would be cool if Michael Keaton comes back as Batman, playing in a movie adaption of "The Dark Knight Returns", where Bruce Wayne is 55 years old and retired, however, crime gets so bad again, it forces him to comeback as Batman.
Sadly the studio won't have the balls to go through with that movie. It would be fantastic though and I would love to see it happen!

I've seen a lot of videos with Keaton and whenever he tells a story, he's a pro at it.
He probably honed that skill during his days as a stand-up comedian.
You know, I recently re-watched Birdman and Keaton definitely should have won over Redmayne. His was such an honest, strong and powerhouse performance.
Redmayne was great as well, but he basically grimaced sitting slumped down in a chair. It's hard to make such a character come to life, no doubt, but Keaton's performance was just effin' epic. He should've won just for the scene with the movie critic alone.

Eddie just copied hawking and brought it to life but Keaton created Riggan Thomson and added depth,layer and gave a multidimensional performance . If you are making a biopic make it like The favourite which draws inspiration from the real people but creates an original creative and imaginative story
Jack Nicholson is without a doubt a character and everyone has a story to tell about him but I wonder why he's so camera shy and he never appears on any chat shows or give an interview whatsoever!
+TruthBeTold I never even realized that he is rarely (ever?) on talk shows. He seems like the kind of guy that'd be on them often and be a memorable guest. Given that he always shows up at all the major award shows, it's a little odd that that willingness to be out doesn't translate to talk show appearances, too.
I think I remember reading that Jack's last talk show appearance was in the early 70s'. 40 years ago. 😲

Keaton and Nicholson have to be make another movie together. I loved both of them in Batman (1989). Both of them are talented and successful.
In a 2020 interview, Michael Keaton revealed he was really nervous and self conscious about working with Jack Nicholson, because he's so strong on film and had so much power, and it ended up just being great because Nicholson made everybody feel really, really, relaxed. They ended up becoming close friends.

The scene close to the beginning of Birdman where Keaton and Edward Norton are on the stage together and throw lines out is amazing. They are acting while acting! If that's not talent, I haven't a clue what is.

I had the opportunity to see Michael Keaton in person. I use to work in a movie theatre where we had quite a few celebrities come in and some non celebs too. One night Michael walks in and goes to watch the movie we were showing. At that time we would wear buttons advertising the movie or a movie that was coming out. So as he passed me at the door I said Good evening sir and he went in. Next to me was this young kid and he asked me who is that.. Michael overheard him came back to where the kid was and told him I am him.. pointing to the Batman button... LOved it... and then he walked away.

Michael Douglas is my all time favorite actor and I loved him as Batman. I have yet to see this Birdman, but I have only heard good things about it. He was also great in Multiplicity actually making all his clones unique. Michael Douglas is my favorite batman.
I also loved him in that Spartacus tv series. What a great actor.

People embrace “The Dark Knight”, but “Batman” transported me into another world. Once Elfman’s score ramps up, combined with Burton’s direction and THIS GUY in the role... it’s easily the best Batman in my mind.
"Batman" is the best batman but "The Dark Knight" is the best superhero movie ever made.
Batman Returns is peak Batman for me. Danny Elfman, Tim Burton, Keats, Devito, Pfiefer, Walken. Just fantastic.

In terms of the best Batman overall in visual media, I'd have to say that the best Batman is Kevin Conroy in the animated series.
Jack's energy is naturally elevated and he's exceptionally gifted, a lot of people judge and misunderstand him. Keaton is a humble guy and is my fave Batman.
