So STOKED to have the incredible composer/keyboard player Button Masher featured in this insane Jazz Fusion Big Band arrangement of Meta Knight's Revenge from Kirby Superstar! My personal favorite entry in the series. The original arrangement was done by Button Masher and he was generous enough to allow me to expand it for our full orchestra! There are some truly blazing horn lines in here on top of Button Mashers incredible re-harmonizations!!
Also just to say it, this video was recorded well over a year and a half ago well before the age of COVID! So no worries about safety

I used to think that way until I found The Consouls and 8BBB - the more people realise how much goes into the music within the limitations of the technology they had, the more people will appreciate. Bands doing covers showcases the brilliance of the original compositions so hopefully VGM composers will gain the recognition they deserve (not just in Japan).

I don't know which is more adorable, the way that you get to see Kirby interact with the environment of the video, or the stars that appear every time you can see the harp being played (like 0:39)
Also, 3:02 and onwards (ESPECIALLY the Kirby's Triumphant Return motif) sounds so damn good

I hope Nintendo sees the Grammy win as something else as well: the fans LOVE the music . And they should make it easier for us to access. I’m so sad to see all my fave Nintendo music channels taken down due to copyright - when someone might hear a Nintendo classic for the first time via those playlists and create something as cool as this. Nintendo is the only game company I can think of that makes it so difficult to access their soundtracks for no apparent reason
I've been enjoying the jazz VGM covers by The Consouls for about 7 years now. They are always so good it doesn't matter what the original sounded like but I should connfess that I am just listening for the jazz as I never actually played most of the games!

Well drumming is pretty straining, and that also really fast.
Though I would say it's combination of strain that appears naturally and stank face, 'cause when you get really going with any kind of instrument, that face shows up sooner or later
"drummer face" is really common, because what a lot of them will do is practice a section over and over, and assign a goofy facial expression to each section to build muscle memory; then, during performances, they can make that goofy facial expression and it helps them not trip up
it's kind of like if i asked someone to sing the third line of the second verse of a song, they would likely have more issues than if i asked them to sing the second verse

Anyone think it should be called "Revenge of Kirby?" Meta Knight was just minding his own business when Kirby came on board and destroyed his whole ship.
Well, technically yes and no. Meta Knight in the game explains that his intended goal was to take over Dreamland to end its lazy lifestyle. It's implied that he wanted to overthrow Dedede, so he had no personal beef with Kirby until he came to stop Meta Knight (probably because Kirby wanted to preserve his lazy lifestyle).
I'm watching the grammy stream few hours ago, my mind was blown when there is Kirby vgm being nominated in one of the grandest entertainment awards of all time. Congratulations!

As soon as I heard the news that a Kirby fan remix got nominated for a Grammy, I knew I had to listen to this... and WOW! This is incredible! Kirby music is fantastic, and yet I never thought that I would see the day where a fan remix would get itself a Grammy nomination. Heck, to my knowledge no video game tracks or remixes were ever nominated, so this isn't just a huge deal for us Kirby fans, but it's also a huge deal for VGM enthusiasts all around the world.
All in all, this fan remix is amazing. Congratulations on the nomination, and here's hoping you guys win the award for the category this was nominated for!

Literally my favorite part of Super Star. Kirby manages to gradually destroy an entire airship, all while the crewmates are freaking out. Ending with a duel with Meta Knight and a high-speed chase off the ship just seconds before gloriously collapsing into the ocean as Kirby rides off into the sunset.
