It’s not about “worse or better” when it comes to trauma, Beth. You both went through your own variety of Hell.
Fear makes you say stupid and hurtful things. Including ones you don’t mean, cause you’re trying to make sense of it all and are ready to try any answer to find one that sticks. (I’m learning that lesson repeatedly in life)
Don’t care what anyone says - sometimes you need to be able to explain yourself, even if it’s not an excuse.
God, how many people did Knight think hated them for that night? D: Have they just put everything on themself this entire time?
….Fuck. Their parents left too? (What about their kids? Knight, Claire - cause she lived with them, even if they didn’t do a good job of it - for fuck’s sake, how shitty of parents were they? Did they just straight up abandon them, with both Claire and Knight so severely traumatized and right in the middle of it all? Did they even try to reach out after leaving? We never hear about them, so I’m guessing not)
Never addressing a wound, just slapping a bandage on it and never trying to clean it - cause you know it will hurt and worry it will make it worse - is just a good way to let it fester, or not notice the damage before it’s too late and heals poorly. You gotta do the painful part to heal properly - the same with trauma.
Fuck, Beth is a whole ass mood right now. You don’t have to tell your partner everything when it comes to your trauma (even if some say otherwise) - but you gotta talk to somebody. If only so it’s not stuck just on you, and you can get the help and healing you need.

Yeah, they’re their parents. But sometimes parents can do more damage than is worth. I do get where Beth’s coming from, though.
It’s complicated, and hard, and hurts like hell - but ultimately only you can decide what is better for you.
Yay for therapy! Also a mood, doing better and being happy for not having to have an appointment in a while (though sometimes it’s good to have one set up just in case, and just going “Things are actually good” rather than not have one when you need it - I had to start doing that cause mine is in high demand locally lol)

This. It is completely okay to talk about trauma from the past, even if it’s years after the fact. It may take you that time to get to a place where you can talk about it, and that’s okay! (And I fucking love Beth for being willing to help them get the help they want and need)
