At this point, just leave the Griffins alone to continue their journey together. Just keep on trotting out guys like Petry etc. The time for accountability and motivation from leadership sailed long ago
Offseeason moves: Trade Holl for future considerations. Trade Copp for a 3rd round draft pick (50% retained). Trade Fabbri for a 2nd round draft pick. Petry waived at the start of the season.
Petry can go work for Priority
Nobody taking those trash players
Holl isn't worth anything. Copp is unmovable. Fabbri is worth a 4th at best and Petry gets bought out.
The concentrated copium we’re faced with huffing is dreaming of divesting any of those pylons from the roster.

Great show as always. Why not just put holl, petry, Chiarot matta on waivers. Let them get claimed and then you are free of their contracts and have so much more money and room to make improvements.
I stand with you on this. Also waive the forwards who don't know or are unwilling to play system team defense. This team lacks toughness from the forwards as well. We need a couple of Tom Wilsons. And expect to finish back in seventh place next year due to all of the mistakes in this rebuild so far. Yzerman should have been bringing up a couple of new players a year, but instead, some are going to languish in the minors, get disenchanted and want to be elsewhere. Or they will have to bring up several all at once, hence, the seventh place. Bring up Edvinsson permanently, Johansson, Mazur, Kasper, Berggren, and possibly Cossa as a third. Bring Danielson, Noah DN, and ASP into GR and give them a look with the Wings next season.
And get rid of the garbage bin on the sweater. So insulting.
Hiring Lalond was nepotism. Mr. Y's biggest mistake. I'm beating a dead horse for still wanting Torts.
Coaching isn't the problem. This team is just trash. Weak core. No true talent. Just a bunch of mids who were punching well above their weight class most of the season. Anyone who actually pays attention all season knew this was coming.

If Kane leaves because of this unacceptable collapse, I will never forgive Lalonde and our garbage roster. He’s the only player that excites me. I truly hate this team right now.
I doubt Kane comes back after witnessing the complete clownshow of Lalonde first hand

Do we even know if Holl is that bad? He can’t be worse than Petry, can he, but Petry keeps getting lots of ice time.
Trading that 1st round pick would be beyond moronic. Only way it would be an acceptable move would be for a 20-22 year old with big upside that stays longterm . No way should we be dealing it for a veteran player who’ll stick around a few years
Someone like greentree,iginla,Connelly , nygaard will be there. Wings have a lot of depth but no pure offensive talent guys. If eiserman falls to around 10 we should trade up
Getting Saros would be absolutely moronic . He has 1 year left and we have two top end goalie prospects coming soon... makes no sense to give up huge assets for a goalie when we won’t win squat in that time
If Reinhart wouldn’t have cost a fortune I’d have dealt debrincat and signed him . This teams too soft
I'd have fired Lalonde immediately after that loss to Buffalo where the Wings came out with zero passion and heart in a must win game.
The Illitch family and this management group are a mismatch, fundamentally.
Bringing Yzerman in was a play to fans’ nostalgia as much as a commitment to rebuilding. However, the pressure to sign players like Kane and push for a playoff spot doesn’t match with Yzerman and Lalonde’s own expectations and projections this season. Both have been explicit this team is not a competitor.
Nonetheless, the fan base is frustrated because signings seemed to signal “the end of the rebuild” when the reality is a paper tiger.
Compounding this is how terrible every veteran signing has played, torpedoing their trade value and further postponing prospect development and meaningful draft picks.
This team is another five years from beginning to end the rebuild.
They are soft and boring to watch. There’s no emotion because they don’t have any of the types of players that bring that on the ice.
5 years and nothing from Stevie Y. How long does the Yzerplan take? Everybody give Yzerman a pass for his playing days. Being a good GM in TB doesn't mean squat here. How bout a little what have ya done for me lately Mr. GM. I won't start on the Coach but he needs a long look too, and who hired him? Just sayin🤷🏻♂🤷🏻♂🤷🏻♂
Don't want to hear any more about Kenny Holland contracts & 10-year rebuild allowances ..... Stevie Y's responsible for LaLonde and the contracts of Copp & Holl, and many (not me) would insist on Chiarot in that group, too. This team legitimately raised the bar, should be in the wild card driver seat, and then collapsed. Yzerman is supposed to be a top GM, a GM cheat code of sorts....so, wtf?!
They didn't raise anything. They aren't good and if you think otherwise you clearly don't watch them play. This rebuild isn't even close to over. Got at least 5 years to go. Probably more

This is the Detroit Red Wings, not Buffalo, and Yzerman is supposed to be a GM cheat code. So, with your stance, we'll contend when our current prospects are in their mid to late 20s with veteran salaries due, Larkin and DeBrincat are in their 30s, and Kane along with most of the D, are in a rest home. Too many top prospects aren't playing...why? When Holl & Petry are playing ahead of prospects, and you're saying 5+ years before we contend, that doesn't say much for our prospects. Bad Holland contracts are being replaced with bad Yzerman contracts. No one bats 1.000 but these hurt the rebuild. Unlike you, I *respectfully* disagree; with 5 years under his belt, there's no no way we should be in this position. I am just separating the legend from the reality in front of me...

This team is beyond horrendous and has become a truly unlikeable mess (mis)led by Lalonde, put together by Yzerman in a very discouraging manner and owned by a guy who is just so greedy, he sold out the team’s jersey to get another sponsor

Waive Petry by sending him down to GR. He has no value, and nobody will pick him up. The 10 points he cost us are major reasons we missed this year.
