    I did something similar last week and for those static shots I think you need more movement, people… to make it interesting. That slider looks dope but it felt a little too static, clean on this project.

    4:50 I live 2 blocks from the B&O Railroad there's even an old station that's been converted into a train museum in my town. It's just far enough away that I think it's cool to live near without it being loud and annoying. When I hear the train horn, sometimes I run outside with a coffee on weekends and just watch the small town pause for it to roll through. It's the simple things in life you know!

    I use my I phone … good edits and a portable gimble . I have a big camera if someone is watching hahah they come out dope ! I can do it all in 40 min in house and 2 hours editing while watching dragon ball. I had to learn to use what I could afford . Most dedicated camera stuff is an expensive sport !

    I think the solution is MORE ONEWHEEL! Also if there's games to be played like in a vaca home, rack the pool table and film the break, I rack focus on my ronin M by using slowest focus tracking speed and smart phone to toggle on AF with spot focsing enabled after having the first subject manually focused in.

    There are legs that attach to the ends of the slider and the legs of your tripod. Cheap and avoid the wobble and in some cases the slow dip the rails take if the camera setup is too heavy. I can send pictures of the supports. I looked for my order to provide a link but can't find it. Not sure if it was a Amazon or B&H purchase and the supports don't have any branding on them.

      @@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo how long does it take you to shoot a real estate video? Do you do both photo and video at the same? I've got my foot in the door because I do video and surprisingly not a lot of photographers doing good real estate videos out there. Now I do photo and video for my clients but it can be brutal since I have to go through twice once for photo and once for video. I'm usually sweating at the end of a shoot. Do you feel pressure to do all your work within a certain timeframe? Especially if the owners live there? Just curios because you seem so relaxed and have time to shoot your CZcams videos at the same time. lol and I'm over here sweating like crazy 🤣

    Great looking final edit! I'm an old school shooter so it def gave me that vibe. Love it! I've seen you use the Canon EOS R6 and Sony Alpha a7S III. If you could only choose one for both photo and video would you recommend one over the other? Or is there a third option that's better than both?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  Před rokem +1

      Thanks! For this video the footage was mostly c200. But for a hybrid the r6 is probably the best option unless maybe you wanted to go with the new lumix camera. A7siii is just not great for photos but the video is some of the best for this stuff. I actually don’t own either just rent them for certain projects if needed btw :)

    Not necessarily a "new way". Back around 2010-2012 most people doing real estate videos had to use a Steadicam or Glidecam or they just put their camera on a tripod and spun it around like a top. The learning curve with a (manual) Steadicam was HUGE, and as a result, most gave up trying to learn that skill. So what did they turn to? Sliders! Every real estate video and every clip was using a slider! When the first gimbal appeared on the scene around 2013, things changed (albeit slowly, as the early gimbals were $15,000 ... I know because I bought one!) But over time as the cheap knockoffs from DJI, China, etc. brought the prices down to something more reasonable, the slider went the way of the albatross. Too cumbersome, too much hassle, too much time. Especially since most agents weren't willing to PAY for that time. I've tried off and on to use a slider over the past 18 years or so, and gave up every time as it was just a PIA.. I've come to realize as a BUSINESS, it's all about getting in and getting out if you want to produce a product that is reasonably and fairly priced AND still make a good living.

  • @edi18912

    what do you do if you book a real-estate video and its very cloudy do you still shoot if so doesn't it effect the quality of the video if theirs no sun?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  Před rokem

      Yeah usually it makes more sense to go ahead and shoot and maybe reschedule to reshoot exteriors so it affects the homeowners the least. But if it’s rainy definitely worth rescheduling the whole thing

    • @edi18912
      @edi18912 Před rokem

      @@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo even for the interiors wont it impact the video quality? less light less colors ect? also I only have an Fuji XT3 so I assume lighting is more important as its not a high end camera? thank you

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  Před rokem

      Yeah, definitely! But sometimes that’s less important for your client if they’ve got everything scheduled already sometimes it makes more sense to go ahead with it even if it’s not perfect to keep things moving and not take up any more days from the homeowners, stagers, assistants etc. if anyone else is involved. But it’s definitely a case by case scenario and I’d always talk to them about it to decide together what’s best.

    Event photographer of over 15 years here, just about to branch out into RE here in NJ! I've been doing practice shots at friends houses before I approach an agent and your channel has been incredibly helpful to me, so just about to purchase your presets! Question: do you apply them to individual shots before merge or mainly after? Also, after doing the 3 bracket I've been doing an individual flash/flambient exposure. Do you keep your camera in AV for that or M and do you turn bracket off (I have been)? On Canon 5D. Thanks!

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  Před rokem +1

      Nice!! Excited for you. I always use manual mode and if I’m doing bracketing I’ll usually do 3 brackets at -2,0,+2 or sometimes I’ll do them manually if it’s a super dynamic shot to be safe.

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  Před rokem +1

      For presets they work best after merging. They’re pretty simple though so depending on where you’re at with your editing, might not need them! But thanks :) You might like the courses if you haven’t done them already though.
