What you did with Sound Check (gravity) is seriously impressive because of how creatively you chose sound effects from the game. You must have had so much fun making this album and it really shows

@@Losing-it. glad you loved it! I scavenged a lot through the game’s SFX to find just the right bits lol. Near the end, I ended up using the sliding SFX a lot, primarily with wind (there is a lot of wind in the album, at least three songs). There was a whole lot of behind-the-scenes trickery like certain reverb FX, double tracking, EQ, etc. I’m so happy to see all of you guys loving the stuff I love too, thanks!

I'm probably dumb but how did you even do that btw? idk if it was just really precise meticulous word splicing, but i feel like doing that same thing for a lot of songs with guest verses that have rappers kinda in-between notes would make them sound even better

I suggest for rap parts (you can see my cover of Points Of Authority for example) just take an acapella of the section and put an 8Bit Filter on it. Sure it may not be Mario but I can’t seem to get the AI to do what I want with specific tonality things lol

@@gustavoo3886 I can't speak for serioussowhy1011, but a couple I noticed were how the last "harmonica" bits of Clint Eastwood echo away instead of just repeating the notes at the same volume, and the intro sounds in "Punk" steadily rise in volume out of the silence instead of just making the song start from that one drum hit.
It might not seem like much on the surface, but a LOT of folks who do these "popular music but with this video game's soundfont" vids often neglect such small details, resulting in the song being _passable_ rather than great.
@@submariNervousI notice a lot of soundfont creators don’t use FX in the recreation and use just the raw unedited sound of the soundfont. Some songs and artists i can understand but for Gorillaz, with how much FX they use, wouldn’t sound like it without it.
Maybe I missed it, but it seems there was a missed opportunity during 19/2000 to have mario shout HERE WE GOOOOO!

This was such a trip to listen to. Everything was perfect! The transition between Clapper and Punk was the highlight for me. You got serious talent making this album and getting every detail correct. Also loved the little Mario AI voice lines added in, it gave it this feel that I haven’t heard other SM64 soundfont videos have. You earned a subscriber for this, hope to see more awesome soundfonts like this! It honestly needs more attention!

Sir or madam or person… I’ve been trying to think of a coment that sums up all my feelings about this for like 20 minutes… and I have yet to do so. I freaking love Gorillaz. I love fan projects. This is one of the most beautiful, well crafted gorillaz Fan projects I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen people re-create like some stuff from demon days stuff with the same sound font, but stuff from the self titled is pretty rare, and very enjoyable to see considering that it’s not their most popular album album, but the fact that you have pain stinkingly re-created THE ENTIRE. ALBUM. Is mind-boggling to me and freaking amazing. You are loved and appreciated and this is an absolute art piece from the fandom. Damon and Jamie really need to see this if they haven’t already.

Clint Eastwood is incredibly well done, it sounds like a fancy ghost theme that would come out of the game. Actually screw it, this entire project is well-put and incorporates great sound. Sound Check has always been my personal favorite from the album, I'm happy you gave it its own spin with this renditon. All the hard work pays off, thank you!!
