- AE86's and Foxbody Mustang's are the best budget cars of the 80's. Mediocre handling, decent power to weight, straight axle simplicity, and literally the best ratio of danger/fun for the dollar. (until recently)
I picked this 86 up in Chicago right after Sema and drove it 1400 miles back home immediately. It made it without any issues outside of using 2 qts of oil and a passenger lower arm jam nut coming loose.
It rips! It sounds great and looks amazing. Ill be doing some updates to it, but its all the right parts and the build is good quality!

I'm not embarrassed to say commuted to work on this car for the better part of a year 🤭 and drove it to the track and back

I daily drove my 86 for 4 years 😂 drove all across Europe in it also! Best car I’ve ever owned for sure! Yours is a stunning example of a well built and styled levin

So cool, You drift normaly a 900hp pro driftcar, but this AE86 gave you more smiles per drift I guess. And this is where the real drifter comes in, no handbrake drifting, pure technique, loved every second of you shredding dude👍
900hp minimum… that needs a nut and bolt check per run.
This is what drifting is about. But the high horsepower cars are a different challenge
@@chelseadenofa true, In Holland we have no place what so ever to drift on dry surface, so we rip E36 320i around and that's totaly fine. The most horsepower I drifted was like 350hp in a LS1 Pontiac GTO. Lots of fun on a wet track. Drifting high horsepower driftcars on dry surface is another ballgame.
The 900hp is the demo car the fd is 1200hp and 1400hp on nitrous

Man super jealous that 86 is so nice. I had a perfect clean chassis from the sw desert that I had to give up on. Just not enough time to get anywhere with it, and I had a BEAMS mounted up too. But rad to still see a 86 that’s clean and sliding!

Great pickup Chelsea this is the first time that I have came to your channel but I remember seeing this car on facebook for a while and the price wasn't bad either for how clean it is. I'm in Chicago myself and I immediately recognized it from the thumbnail. I would of picked this up in a heartbeat as well, can't wait to see more videos of this thing now I'm definitely subscribing!

I just definitely subscribed. I miss my 20v silver top. That sound is very pure. I was running mine with a haltech. And was pushing 148 to the wheels completely stock.
The sights, sounds and stoke are 10/10!

Man I'm glad you ended up with this car instead of someone who would hide it away and never drive it. I miss driving a low power Corolla with my foot on the floor and hucking it in. Having power has made me a lazier driver 😅. I need to finish my beams car soon.

Lastly, it is not easy to drift a ae86 you have to have mad skill without handbrake but it is like it should be.

It's like my KE70 minus the roll cage hahaha. Super sick car Chelsea, should come to NZ and drive mine for shits n' gigs heh. I'm on my third 4age BT 20v after having the cam belt jump on deceleration, they are super common for this but Barry from MRP here in NZ makes an N2 tensioner and a manual cambelt tensioner to solve that. Went all out with the most recent engine, it does not miss a beat! Always starts first pop and goddamn that intake noise you will never ever get sick of.

My Ae71 is basically the same. It's so good. But needs alot more money thrown at it. Haltech ecu and silver top 20 valve. Suspension is all ae86 and crown 8inch diff. 130 hp stock slides 3rd with jdm ratio gearbox...with alot of clutch kicks haha. Rev at 4k on highway. Longer 5th sounds nice. I also need a new handbrake. So similar.
dude you gotta put up some pedal cam action vids of you ripping this unit, especially with no handbrake! I would love to see how it looks compared to your other more mid-range power cars - the momentum heavy driving style is so aesthetically pleasing to watch
