    The fast pace of technology is a darn cruel mistress sometimes. Things move so fast, that genuinely cool pieces of tech oftentimes get drowned out by the constant flood of released E-waste that we keep getting bombarded with.
    Well, I'm rebelling against that, and so should you. This is the 8BitDo SN30 Pro Xbox Edition, a controller that deserves way more attention than it got, and which I hope you'll like at least half as much as I do. ❤️

    I mean it was released three years ago and got decent coverage imo. The problem was limited compatibility unlike the normal version. Analogue triggers are nice but from what I remember from reviews years ago compatibility with other standard? ! was the problem.

    As the controller meanwhile also officially works with Apple devices with newer OS versions, is there any hardware difference between the regular SN30 Pro version and this Xbox version here other than the adaptive L2/R2 triggers?
    Can this version here be connected via Bluetooth without a dongle like the regular version? Can it be connected by wired USB-C connection like the regular version?

    i got my first 8bitdo pro 2 controller used 2 years ago and its condition was still pretty much brand new the analog sticks rubber have gotten worn down a bit and the start button has started mess up after all the times i used it, it still feels brand new, and i loved the controller so much i got another one full price next year, and even if its in D input mode it can still be used on pc and mac for emulators, i only had small problems with the two controllers but after turning them off and back on they started to work how they are supposed to, i really love these controllers

    Second point about the Legion y700 is easily understand. It's not exactly a portable handheld and you need to buy a telescopic controller like your one if you want to use it as a proper gaming tablet. Plus for the longest time it was literally a Chinese firmware product with a hacky global rom that was missing features like stylus support and delayed or even no notification support. Though due to the recent sales of less than $300 for the 2023 edition, several retro handheld reviewers have bought one and will probably release gaming focused reviews about it. Honestly there is way more info on bilibili or in other languages. Even Geekerwan released an in depth technical review, though only on bilibili, not CZcams.

    Speaking of stick drift the only controllers that ever drifted for me were joycons. But both xbox and switch pro controller I had them for years and they still work flavlessly without drift and trust me they went through a lot of abuse. I already droped both of them few times and switch pro stick was being beat up a lot from hours and years of playing smash bros. I also have 8bito sn30 pro but I use it mainly for phone and traveling because its so small and thus travel friendly since it doesnt take much space.

    The world is not talking about the Lenovo Legion Y700 2023 because it is not widely available to buy. By the way, where did you buy yours from? AliExpress?

    • @VladNerd

    Funny seeing this right after using this controller. Absolutely love this controller but its lack of compatability is the biggest issue.
    I bought it with the understanding it was for android but a bit more usb compatability would be nice.
    And yeah, i trust no single reviewer at this point without further research.
    Seriously though, if this worked on xbox consoles it would be amazing.

    • @VladNerd
      @VladNerd  Před 3 měsíci +1

      No weakness there! The MM and MM+ are genuinely the only handhelds that I always swear by.
      Just make sure to have a name-brand SD card (128gb) prepared for when it arrives and flash Onion OS on it + tiny best set (I can't provide links, but there's a guide on reddit for that, first search result I think). These two things make it 1000 times better. It's a set-it-and-forget-it type of setup, absolutely optimal in every way. Beats any other handheld firmware out there by miles.
      The original Miyoo Mini (v1) basically showed that there's demand for such handhelds, and immediately after it, others started appearing like mushrooms. It's the Godfather of them all. ❤️

      @@VladNerd I would argue it was actually the Funkey S that really kicked the mini/micro revolution. Mind you though, by that thinking, you could argue that the MicroSprite was really the first but that unit suffered from not actually being able to be played without permanent injury. 😉👍

    • @joshmcgootermier2301
      @joshmcgootermier2301 Před 3 měsíci

      More than their otger controllers this controller has crazy limited compatability so I would guess it is on the lower end for sales despite its quality.

    • @VladNerd
      @VladNerd  Před 3 měsíci

      This is really a niche model of the SN30. Not clickbaity at all. People who buy this either know what they want (and how they're gonna use it), or they don't know that it doesn't work on PC yet. This made it way less popular than other variants, even though it full-on deserved more spotlight (if only for the analog triggers)
