What I love about AW is that most of the top guys seem so nice and genuine

Love seeing these guys together. Opponents on the table, but much respect off the table.

To me Brian and Halfthor are the same when it comes to strength. But Devon can take out Halfthor easy picy. But somehow Brian Shaw is something special.

Larratt beat Thor a few years ago like he was a child. Shaw is no different. This is just a money making arrangement.

I agree, I even think Devon was still natural at that point.
Armwrestling is a VERY different kind of strength, it take years and years to become good. The hype is just to make Brian more interested in the sport and make the sport bigger by bringing strong-man people into it.

@@BigO161107 Kind of mocks the whole sport to suggest strongmen could walk into it and challenge for no.1 in just a few years.

@@BigO161107 Leonidas succeeded with good coaching, I don't see why Brian couldn't. Unlike Thor he actually seems really interested in this sport and is willing to learn and train until he excels at it.
Since when are we gatekeeping armwrestling? The sport should grow, and yeah it will take years for the new folk to become great at it, but it doesn't mean they shouldn't at least try.

@@iulic9833 No one is gatekeeping anything, im just sick of the hype on brian when hes showed NOTHING that suggests hes even good. All that has happened is that devon went over there and hyped him up. Devon is smart, he knows hoe to put on a good show and make money on armwrestling content, hes the best at it, but we should keep out expectations low. No one cared about leonidas until he beat schoolboy recently which NO ONE thought he would be able to, and we should approach Brian with the same expectations until hes proven us wrong.

@@lukea136 It's overhyped for sure, but it's not mocking the sport. My main sport is UFC and I didn't consider the sport being mocked when Brock Lesnar came over from the WWE and became UFC heavyweight champion after just a few fights and he had only trained MMA a couple years. He was a freak athlete and his athleticism/wrestling background got him to the top of a brand new sport. It's stupid to say Brian will do the same but it's not stupid to be really really intrigued. How can any serious arm-wrestling fan not be intrigued to see how far someone can get in the sport with all their points placed into strength?
