- Im really not able to do much riding yet, so I've been spending a lot of time in the garage doing my Spring Maintenance on the Can Am Maverick Trail. This year I took it a step further and removed the bed for a thorough inspection and cleaning.
Jason my friend, thanks for sharing! What a great help! 😊
I have a 2022 Trail and have loved it so far!!
Great to hear from you!
I changed the plugs on my sport at 4k miles, I couldn’t believe how worn out they were! My advice don’t touch the valve covers. As soon as you take them off they will leak until you replace the gaskets lol. I learned that the hard way
I decided not to worry about the valve covers. There's some slight evidence of seepage, but really very little, so I'll just keep the stock ones in place for now.
It would be nice to have you as a neighbor. I can do certain things when I watch some one do something in person.
Curious - would love to see that detail on your rear diff modification. Just got involved in doing my first self service on my machine changing items.
Also decided having to remove that bag for maintenance, becasue I have door bags i am probably not putting it back on.
Not sure what your referring to as the "rear diff modification " ?
@@MyATVlifeYou made a comment around 3:45 mark about modificaitions to ensure the right amount of fluid goes in other than checking the dipstick
I use a measuring funnel. It's got a tube with a shut-off valve. It's hard to use when the bed is in place because it's so long, it's much easier to use with the bed off. I always measure out the amount required when I fill it just so that I don't overfill it.

I have mine off right now as well. I decided to do a valve adjustment. Haven't done one and closing in on 3k, So figured I'd better do it. Check the harnesses and they are like yours, no. Scuffing at all thankfully.
Valve adjustment ?
Dang, you have way more energy than I do 😳👍
Really missing your great ride videos. Do you plan to do any this summer?
I have one "in the can" and working on another. As soon as vacations and work allow I will start editing. Stay tuned 👍
My maverick sport always smelled like a coolant leak. never found one.
Liked the videos. Question, have you done any sound dampening to your machine?
I haven't done any. We wear helmets, so they muffle almost all of the noise
Jason, how many miles did you run before you felt the need to replace the drive belt? I've got 3000 miles on my XRC and it still looks good and measures a with of only 1/32 wear from the new one I have.
I think I changed mine at around 3500 miles, but it still looked perfect. Probably could have gone another 3,000 miles easy.
How do you have the jack secured in the rear window
RMATV sold their scissor Jack with a mount with a clamp that attaches to that upper cross tube. Not sure if they still sell them with the mount or not.
Did you have to remove your mudflaps?
Nope. 👍
