I Read the Bible and Feel Nothing-What Should I Do?

- I read the Bible and feel nothing...what should I do? I think we all go through seasons where we may not feel like reading the Bible, and we all face the discouragement at times where we read it and feel nothing at all. Sometimes this very discouragement can keep us from reading it at all, because we feel like we're doing something wrong. But that's simply not true! Not "feeling anything" doesn't mean we're doing something wrong. If you read the Bible and feel nothing, I've got some encouragement in this video for you. đ€

âYour words were found, and I ate them, and Your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by Your name, O Lord, God of hosts." | Jeremiah 15:16
A verse I've had a "birthday dinner moment" with: John 10 (and specifically how it fulfills Ezekiel 34). I wrote about how the truths in these passages impacted me in this blog post: kacinicole.com/2016/02/01/the-sweet-side-of-bitter/
My most recent "birthday dinner moment" was with Romans 1:16! I saw it on the back of a friend's shirt and felt a renewed energy for evangelising to non-Christian friends đ€
The Gospel of John is a Beautiful picture of a loving God. I Love that you feel so lovely about it. So for me it's 1 John 4:8 which reads "He who does not Love does not know God for God is Love."
I've read this book cover to cover over a dozen times. One thing that really struck me was that you only read the bible for so long, but soon enough you will find that the bible reads you.
Keep reading kids.
Thank you for this because I've been beating myself up for not being so eager to read His Word. Like I am not so thirsty now for His Word compared before. I've been so sad about this and your video comforted me. Thank you!! And praise God because He is still faithful even in our down moments.
Same here. Let's follow her suggestions and return to read His words.
God bless!
Audiobook it. Why torture yourself when you can have David Sutchet read it to you?
I would say my âbirthday dinnerâ experience verse is John 16:33 âI have told you all these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!â In my pain, my anxiety, my heartache, reading this verse makes me realize that Jesus was already in this world, He experienced it. He knows my pain, He knows what Iâm going through and in the end, He WINS. So, through His promise, I am assured, that everything will be okay. đ€ So I pray that even in the days where I donât want to touch my Bible, I do. I ask God to put that desire in my heart. Through His Word, I am reminded of His character and His love for me.
I've read the bible it has taken me two whole years to finish it due to life events and roller coaster stages in life, I feel lost now without reading it so just doing the youversion bible app plans and devotional helps me and bible project video helps me too.
I had started reading the book of Job as my heart was wanting to read that but I have stopped as I find it all so negative with jobs complaints, thanks for this video I will try and finish reading Job when I can as in the middle of moving to a new place to live and waiting for things to settle down before I can get into quiet time... I hope so soon I'm overwhelmed by everything atm
Try psalms or proverbs, ephesians is a short and great one too
For example may has 31 days just like proverbs has 31 chapters. The book of John is also great to remind us of Jesus' miracles and life.May GOD ALLMIGHTY bless you sister and give you HIS peace
"Not all meals are memorable yet we're surely gonna notice the impact if we don't eat any meal at all" SO GOOD â€
Your faith must rely not on feeling, but on the promises of God.

We appreciate this video. God bless you and your family.
Makes me so happy to hear đ God bless you as well Sophia!
Hebrews 12:1-3 was like a "birthday dinner " for me. Especially verse 2. đ They really spoke to my spirit at a time when I was focused too much on myself and instead needed to fix my eyes on Jesus. â€
This is how Iâve been feeling the past few years. I used to have a good relationship reading the Bible but I got mad at God because of something that happened. He completely fixed that thing in time without me praying about and Iâm so thankful but I havenât been able to go back to that relationship I once had. I feel guilty for how I got mad but donât know how to fix it. I feel like a hypocrite because I tell others in my community I have a good relationship when I donât.
But this video gives me encouragement to just continue to show up, especially since I am just 2 months away from having my first child and would love for him to have a relationship with God.
Wow there is so much to unpack. I praise God that His love and sovereignty over you is so evident in what youâve said.
The fact that you can openly and sincerely share this is such a blessing. I personally appreciate it.
Reading the Bible would be a great way to work out how you are feeling! Read, read, read! Talk to Him about it as you read! Better to have an open (and even angry) heart and work things out in your quiet time than to be so hardened that God needs to speak loudly through life circumstances! (Not saying life circumstances are always because of something we did but he does use them for our good and for our discipline).
Praying for you for healing and growth, as well as my own.
Hebrews 10:10-18. Jesus paid the fine for our sins in full. your sin against God is no more Jesus Christ the Lord has taken it away, and nailed it to the cross, taking Gods wrath for it in full. ( 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24, 3:18, Romans 8:3-4). And Jesus, the Son of God is Risen from the grave, defeating death and sin forever, forgiving you. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4, 20-22, 55-57, Colossians 2:13-15). We then come boldly to the throne of Grace through Jesus Christ. (Hebrews 4:14-16, 10:19-23). Also read 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10.
I SAY THANKS TO LORD JESUS CHRIST AND FOR.HIS BLESSINGS IN OUR LIVES PLUS BLESSINGS IN GROUPS
My "birthday dinner" experience verse was Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." This was the verse that helped me in my salvation and coming to know Jesus and getting saved. The invitation of coming to him, and learning the nature of God has impacted my life. It helped me unlearn the warped perception I had of God due to past circumstances and see God for who he really is.
Hi Nicole I love this video. †I've been struggling with this a little bit lately. And it's important to remember that this world is constantly chasing after dopamine. That rush you get when you pick up your phone, Or do a hobby. But the bible is not just to satisfy that want for excitement or dopamine. It's to build your relationship with God. We can often feel these things like excitement, when we read the bible, but it's important to remember that it's not what we should be are chasing after.
"Feelings come and feelings go,
And feelings are deceiving;
My warrant is the Word of God--
Naught else is worth believing.
Though all my heart should feel condemned
For want of some sweet token,
There is One greater than my heart
Whose Word cannot be broken.
I'll trust in God's unchanging Word
Till soul and body sever,
For, though all things shall pass away,
HIS WORD SHALL STAND FOREVER!"

Thank you so much Iâve been feeling down because I havenât felt anything when I read my bible but now you made me understand thank you and may God bless you đ
What a lovely and helpful reminder! You mentioned the very first video I ever watched on your channel - soooo many years ago ! On an IG comment I shared that I shared that info with my young daughter. She is now almost 16 and loves your videos !
thank you so much. This video is awesome!! Just what I needed.đđ
Thanks for posting this video, God knows exactly what I need and this video has definitely helped.
I'll rewatch this video with my dusty Bible and highlight pens to mark down the verses you mentioned.
I especially like you said quality time and quantity time are both important. I never thought that.
God bless!
Thank you for this lesson. Your analogies really hit home and the content, as always, is very impactful and positive.
Thank you so much this video was really helpful
Great analogy!!
This video comes exactly at a time when I needed to hear something like this! Thank you so much!
Thank you for this video đđŸâ€ïž
Thank you for this! I thought there was something wrong with me because I wasnt having that awesome eye opening spiritual experience after reading the Bible. Now I know that it's ok to feel nothing
This video was right on time â€
Ty so much for this â€
Thanks for sharing this. Itâs so freeing and such a great analogy. Congratulations on 100Kđ Thanks for continuing to share the truth.
Kaci, I thank God for you. You are so encouraging, truth-filled, and anointed to speak the Word to others. Thank you so much. You are so appreciated â€ïž
Agreed and thankyou for sharing! There are so many people here hungry (thirsty, too!) for Truth - let the Lord give us strength so that we never stop seeking it out!
There r so many verses that Gid has used to impact me but themost memorable one is Psalm 138:8" The Lord will fulfill His purposes for me" powerful powerful verse. And u know the pressure has been removed to always feel a certain way about reading the bible and prayer and so grateful for thisâ€â€â€â€
Thank you beloved sister
Huhu I really needed to hear this! I've been feeling the pressure to reach an insight after reading the Bible, but I can attest that over time, God really continues to sanctifies us even if we don't "feel" much, so long as we keep showing up! Thanks Kaci!
Thanks for thisđ
This really resonated to me. Thank you for this video and thank God for using you in this unique way. I have been wanting to do the same but not gotten around to it. I hope I can also contribute to his works in a good way .
Good word.
Isaiah 43,1-3 †God have reminded, spoked, helped me work through a lot of bad stuff with this verse and I am so thankful đ
Enter međ I love all these resources and all you offer! Thank you so much đ„ł

Dearest Kaci,
It is truly a great joy and honor walking this road to heaven alongside you. You are tender-hearted and extremely kind-spirited. Your unconditional pure love and joy for the Lord is so contagious and very inspiring. I love ending my quiet times with the Lord with one of your beautiful Bible Studies. You are a precious, sweet blessing and gift to this world. It is so obvious that the Lord has such a purpose for you. đđż
Your so pretty and soft spoken ty †and your family is beautiful â€
Your channel has had such an impact on me. Recently itâs been hard for me spiritually. But by watching your videos, I feel uplifted. Thank you so much!â€ïž
Wow, praise God! I'm honored and humbled to know He has used my videos to draw you closer to Him! Thank you for this comment, Faith đ€
Hi Kaci, feel silly leaving a comment since you do not respond. But understood. Iâve been battling doing my daily readings. Also have been asking the Lord in prayer to please give me the desire to want to study every day and look forward to doing so, I know the Holy Spirit gives me the desire, itâs what I do with it. So I am really trying to build my morning prayer time up. Staying in prayer a lot longer. Thank you for sharing
Beautiful
Hello, could you make a video on how to give our burdens to God? Thanks
Thank you Jesus, God help me to study your words in Jesus Name Amen Thank you father for your mercy upon me ,God bless you woman of God đđ€đ
Excellent message â€
Aw thank you Linda đ€
I needed this â€
I needed this so much! I've been in a bit of a rut spiritually and getting down on myself for it. This came at just the perfect time. Thank you for sharing! My "birthday dinner" verse is Psalm 116:7
Kaci, your videos are so helpful. The past few of them have been speaking to me. Thank you for uploading â€ïž
You really help me with bible reading I've done almost all your Bible study videos on Esther now thank you can't wait for more
This is so encouraging. Thank you for sharing this truth.
Amen!
I definitely be expecting steak and lobster when I read my Bible đ thank you for this reminder â€
I feel so disconnected, as a person looking to find God again, it's so hard because it feels like my connection is gone. Sometimes I feel like His mercy for me has run out.
You aren't alone, that's why I came searching for a video like this. That helped me see that I'm not the only one feeling this way. We just need to push through and work on our relationship with God.
Continue to seek God! Ask him for a fresh revelation from his word â€
I 100% agree! Thanks for the video Kaci âșïž something that helps me sometimes and currently in this season where Iâve been struggling to get enough of the word in but switching up the Bible routine or studying a new topic within the word can be exciting too
I love this!đ thank you! This is such a great reminder and encouragement!
I needed this! Right on time! Thank you and God bless
You are spot on. Iâm so hungry for his word and desperately want to but I canât/donât. It feels like a chore. I know it will help me but it just seems so overwhelming.
my fav video reminding me of the most important. My first video of yours Kaci was the one where you mentioned a few years back that it is like pebbles being washed over by the waters and that really stayed with me. So helpful and such glistening words of hope for my current season in my early 20s and in season of singleness. I often come back for your videos x
John 1-19: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God....... It is like a concert. And psalm 91.
My forever favorite verse is Isaiah 43:10 - 13
ââBut you are my witnesses, O Israel!â says the Lord. âYou are my servant. You have been chosen to know me, believe in me, and understand that I alone am God. There is no other God- there never has been, and there never will be. I, yes I, am the Lord, and there is no other Savior. First I predicted your rescue, then I saved you and proclaimed it to the world. No foreign god has ever done this. You are witnesses that I am the only God,â says the Lord. âFrom eternity to eternity I am God. No one can snatch anyone out of my hand. No one can undo what I have done.ââ
God is so so good , even in my hurt and pain I know he was a purpose and he is always with me
Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a matter:but it is the honor of kings to search it out.
Isaiah 49:24-26 đđŒ
This is very timelyâ€ïžđ
whats the chance that im watching this on my birthday? also i had teriyaki chicken for dinner
I've been struggling a lot this week w my depression, that I haven't been praying or reading my word as much and I feel like I'm slowly leaving God, but it's so hard. I wanna pray but I feel like I can't open my mouth and I just sit and pray in my head, sexual temptation is so hard also. I feel like God isn't happy w me :(
Praying for you. Do you have a mature Christian woman you can go to? Maybe ask your church office? You donât need to shoulder this burden and bondage alone. That is what the church body is for.
I will tell you that I backslid due to some life circumstances that I did not understand and it was a 15 year life lesson in humility and my dependence on God. God allowed me to enjoy my sin and âindependenceâ for a time but without God in my life I hit rock bottom. I ended up getting to a point where if something didnât change I was going to commit suicide. I came back to the Lord because I had no other option. He took me back and He healed me! I no longer have debilitating PTSD symptoms. I have peace. He is so good.
I hope that you can find help from your Christian family so that you donât have to find your way back in such a painful way like I did.
God bless you Sis.
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
Isaiah 54:17â€
What if you are not hearing from God even with spending time with God for a year plus? I feel like giving up sometimes.
Always Matthew 6:33
PAUL HIMSELF SAYS, ROMANS 3:31 New King James Version Do we then make void the law through faith? Certainly not! On the contrary, we establish the law.
My problem is where to even start. I didnât grow up learning the Bible. So, not only do I not know how to read it (besides the basics), but I donât know where to start.
Can you make a video about that?
Do you attend a church? If so, ask your Pastor. They're called by Christ to watch over your souls.
All of 1 John
Kaci Nicole i have not seen bible BECAUSE i am non Catholic PERSON
In that day you shall no longer call me master , but Husband . Hosea
Yeah, it has been happening with large number of people. Can't help. Just read like a book and forget about the result. Just go and sleep.
Psalm 63:1 O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water...... I agree we should definitely pray for God to make us hunger and thirst for Him, and many never ask for that. I also think it could be a trial when God is silently testing, or it could be a heart problem. Remember the parable of the 4 soils? The soil represents our hearts and the seed is His word being PLANTED in hopefully good soil. There were many reasons the seed wasn't able to grow, one was Sin choking it. So besides prayer, I would say repent, even for Him to reveal unknown sins...... "I have hidden Your WORD in my heart that I might not sin against You."..... Planting a garden of scripture (Jesus/God's WORD) in our heart will always take time to bloom.
I donât have an expectation that I will feel an instant intense emotion every time, but I do expect SOMETHING: conviction, gratefulness, appreciation of Godâs attributes, curiosity, reverence.
If Iâm not seeing the Bible affect me, then I probably need to repent and surrender some things to the Lord!
There may also be a need to meditate on the Word in some way so that scripture comes to mind in every day situations. So maybe I donât get an instant emotional high during Bible reading, but later on, as Iâm encountering a life situation, I can see how a scripture I have read applies and Iâm naturally prompted to ask God to help me live out that scripture.
If someone is not seeing ANY impact on their lives from Bible reading, then feeling uncomfortable IS appropriate. No need to fall into the shame trap, but still it could be a red flag and I would urge some action! Donât be complacent about it!
If this is happening then I would take this seriously. Pray and fast to seek the Lord. Seek wise counsel. Spend time with mature Christian women who are serious about the Word.
I do read the Bible as a discipline and am reading through the entire Old Testament for the first time. There are some passages that seem tedious or I just donât understand how they apply. I donât sweat it and I move on. I still pick up on attributes of God, and notice patterns of the Israelites, and how God responds to these behaviors. I reflect on what do I have in common with the Israelites and marvel over Godâs patience and mercy, but also even His jealousy and wrath. A lot of what Iâve been reading is very repetitive and it does not feel like âohh Iâm really enjoying all of thisâ but I do recognize its importance and appreciate that due to the repetition the message is really being reinforced in my brain.
I believe that God rewards our faithfulness to His Word and His Word changes us and sustains us.
Psalm 6 đą
Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets.
Amos 3:7
L'ecclesiastiqie 19 1to 17
I have a question.
Do you not think , at the end
the good guy-Jesus was only killed
The Bad guys (narcissists from devil) continued to live on
So, is it not correct to say that good guys are just losers and bad guys are winners?
Steak & Lobstaa đ„čđ©â€đ
When i try, try being the word.....i find the magic happens much later. Tests... the highs and lows from life( God)... my biggest gripe is it's different from what i was bought up to believe. I left the church cause basically i was lied to my whole life... and its time i separate myself from the wolves so this sheep can find it's voice barrrrhhhh
No one has to struggle with sin instead pray specific sanctification prayers over yourself in the name of Jesus Christ. Here is a starter list that I come into agreement with you on in the name of Jesus Christ. 1) Psalms 19:12 Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Psalms 19:13 Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. 2) Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 3) Psalms 119:133 Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me. 4) John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. 5) John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 6) Ephesians 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; 7) Prayer and tithing go together like water and cement powder this is based on Malachi 3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven (REVELATION), and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. and Act 10:4 And when he (Cornelius) looked on him (the angel), he was afraid, and said, What is it, Lord? And he said unto him, Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a MEMORIAL before God.
The following prayer is not in the Bible, as far as I know, but is based on John 16:13. This prayer works well for condemning thoughts in your head that are actually demonic revelations. Pray to God in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for a Holy Spirit block in your head to stop the devil or any of his evil spirits from talking to you that you only want to talk with and obey the Holy Spirit. This prayer cleaned out my head really well about 35 years ago.
Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh (5 senses) do mind the things of the flesh (5 senses); but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded (5 senses) is death (separation from God like Adam did); but to be spiritually minded is life (G2222, Zoe, like together with God) and peace.

The best study bible is in the public domain, Ethyl Bert Bullinger's Companion Bible. Here is a sample of his work levendwater.org/companion/append164.html while the best places to start reading and praying the Bible over yourself are John chapters 14-17 and the church epistles which are Romans through Thessalonians.
A very simple yet lovely book is Bullinger's Witness of the Stars, which explains that the first Bible was the Zodiac before men's memories deteriorated to the point that God had to give Moses a written Bible. The paper version is the best because of the map at the very back which you should pull out before you start reading the book. www.google.com/search?q=bullinger+witness+of+the+stars&oq=Bullinger%27s+Wit&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j0i22i30.9354j0j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
Legalism it's not about willpower or do do do because Jesus paid for all on the cross
