Fitting the Bike Rack to my Caravan!

- In this video, I fit a bike carrier to my Bailey Discovery D4-2!
The Thule carrier is an accessory purchased from Prima leisure and can be fitted if needed by a Bailey retailer. However, in this video, I show you how to fit it and a little review of the carrier.
I shall be using this carrier thoroughly so I will report back on my findings long term soon!

Luckily the Disco had a light noseweight go start so only registered 50kg on the gauge👍🏻

I don't need a bike rack but I do have a question about caravan and car weight.
I tend to carry all the food, clothing and and bedding in the back of my Ford Puma.
Ratio wise, does that make sense to you ?
Heavier car -v- lighter Freedom caravan.
What do you think please ?

Hi. I would like to fit bike rack on my 2005 Bailey Pageant Monarch but the A frame is not as big as the one in your video. Is there any way it can be adapted or can I have one fitted to rear of caravan. Thanks
Hi Judy, unfortunately we would not be able to put a bike carrier on the back of your particular caravan. I would recommend putting them inside the caravan or alternatively on the roof of your car. Thanks for watching, Oliver

Hi Oliver. Does fitting this improve the noseweight much? I've found the nose to be incredibly light, so much so that it hardly registers on my gauge, unless I pile things up near the front on the floor.
Hi Trevor, no not really I had 45kg and towed it for 20miles and it was awful so loaded up the front and it was much better at 55kg. Which is my limit on the car.

It’s a Thule Bike Carrier but you will need to discuss the weight with Prima Leisure or Thule.
Not sure if this will work on my Compass Corona it has a fibreglass
cover on the front.

Does this not really affect the nose weight when you have bikes on?
Hi, I measured the noseweight and the Discovery’s have a really light noseweight so that the carrier doesn’t effect it too much it was still 50kg when I measured it yesterday. Thanks for watching, Oliver.
what about turning left-right - does the car do not hit the bike wheels ?
I never had an issue as it’s set back from the car enough to clear it.
The nose weight of my Bailey is quite high, don't know if I would get away with one of these.
Luckily the Discovery had an already light nose so it doesn’t make much difference which is good😊
Great video, always wondered what the bike rack was like.
How does the weight side of it work? Presumably your nose is too heavy now (if you don't mind me saying! 🙃) so do you put some heavy stuff at the back of the van to even it out? If you do then won't that make it more bouncy when you go over bumps?
I measured the nose and it was 50kg on the gauge so all good. Most of my weight goes in the car and by the oven. Once I worked out the loading it was really stable.
