Clawed1234: the name sounds familiar but the main thing is how so many top flight scientists are Christians and others believe there is a God or something behind the creation of the universe. I have been asking atheists to explain how two different results can come from a thorough examination of the facts. People like Dr. James M. Tour and Dr. Hugh Ross. Devout Christians. The silly answers I get only show the lengths the non believer will go to avoid facing the facts.

@@michaelbrickley2443 Isn't Collins simply asserting God and then using God's assumed supernatural ability (defined as such, not observed) to explain whatever he feels science can't explain, plus everything science can explain? Well, that's just too easy since that's everything. Supernatural can explain anything and everything without effort. Science isn't allowed to do that. Science has to make the effort to explain the mechanisms, processes, or elements involved in any observed thing, form those into falsifiable hypotheses and then devise experiments to try to disprove those hypotheses. If something doesn't yet have an answer, that's the way it should remain until new information comes along to revisit the question of explaining a thing.
Regarding Tour, I was disappointed in his mischaracterizing evolution by putting the cart before the horse. He takes an existing life protein and calculates the odds of that one protein being constructed by chance, and claims the odds are so astronomical that it can never have evolved by chance. Evolution doesn't work like that. It doesn't care what proteins are produced. Any protein at all can be produced by any random mutation. Unlike Tour, evolution has no goal in mind. If evolution randomly produces a protein that contributes to reproductive fitness, it gets preserved and it's one of the proteins we see today simply because it happened to do something. Had a different set of proteins appeared from different mutations, the ones we see today would be different and life would be based on those instead.

@@laceystinson the God of the gaps? Haha…I don’t use scientists to prove God. He proved Himself to me. Explain miracles and the resurrection evidence. Explain scientists such as John Polkinghorne, James M. Tour and others, looking at the evidence and coming to faith in the One True God, Yahweh. You’re just reading the atheist handbook and it fits your narrative. Too many critical thinking humans agree with me. And as I said in the beginning, He proved Himself to me. He has proved Himself to many others. The evidence that points to the weakness in atheist faith is laid out in Geisler and Tureks’s book, I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist. Many scientists through our history were Christians or Muslims, for a long time it seemed a reasonable conclusion. Of course, now that we have a much deeper, comprehensive understanding of the universe, most scientists are atheists, because there is not sufficient evidence to warrant belief. That's why Christians believe on faith, which is just meant to replace evidence because if someone had a good reason to believe something, they wouldn't need faith

Remember when you were a small child and about to do something wrong, but you felt that little tug at your heart that told you "NO"? That was the spirit trying to guide you... Or when you were older and trying to figure out something difficult but you just couldn't and finally it occurs to you, so as to make you say "oh yeah! Why didn't i think of that before?" - because HE just gave it to you. We say that because it seems so simple when the answer is perfect. That's how we know what comes from our Father, by it's perfection. When we don't listen we say things like "something was telling me" or "i had a gut feeling" but really this is how God communicates with every life form. Remember what Jesus said, "consider the birds of the field, they neither reap nor sow yet our Father feeds them" and HE can cause them to see a worm in the grass from the highest treetops. How much more can HE cause us to see? How much more important are we than the birds? When we get a big flow of information/understanding, we call it an "epiphany" and it can change your whole life. Learn to clear your mind. Learn your types of thoughts. Don't give any time to negative thoughts or thoughts that don't help you. "The Spirit is the true teacher" and as long as you're wrapped up in the world, you'll never hear HIM. ❤️🙏

24:47 🌌 Francis Collins discusses the plausibility of the universe's existence and the application of Occam's razor, leaning towards the idea of a creator.
25:15 🧬 Collins explores the idea of a deist god based on Einstein's marvel at mathematics and the concept of fine-tuning arguments.
25:44 📜 Collins references C.S. Lewis's argument about the moral law as evidence of something beyond the material world.
27:08 🤝 He discusses human uniqueness in following a moral law and explores the universality of this law, raising questions about its origins.
28:43 🧬 Collins examines altruism and moral behavior from an evolutionary perspective but questions whether it fully explains the most profound acts of altruism.
31:06 🌟 Collins contemplates the presence of the moral law within humans as evidence for a God who cares about goodness and morality.
32:02 🛤️ After a journey of exploring evidence, Collins shares his personal conversion story, becoming a Christian, and finding peace and joy in his faith.
39:47 🔬 Collins provides scientific support for evolution through DNA analysis and explains how genes and pseudogenes reveal common ancestry.
44:13 🛑 Collins counters the idea that science can disprove God, highlighting the limitations of science in addressing supernatural concepts.
48:40 🙏 Collins reconciles evolution and faith by proposing that God's plan included evolution as the mechanism for life's diversity.
49:07 🧬 DNA is the language of God, reflecting the concept of "biologos," connecting life with God's creative word.
50:32 🌍 Theistic evolution harmonizes faith and science, suggesting that God's perspective of time differs from human perception.
51:42 🤔 The question of evolution being purely random is considered from the viewpoint of God's presence outside of time.
53:04 🔍 Intelligent Design (ID) claims like the bacterial flagellum are countered by the idea that complex structures evolved through gradual adaptation, not requiring divine intervention.
54:54 ❌ Intelligent Design (ID) is viewed as a "God of the gaps" approach and lacks scientific validity, as science continues to fill gaps in knowledge.
56:04 📜 The interpretation of Genesis in light of evolution involves considering literary, historical, and cultural contexts rather than a strict literal reading.
58:54 🙏 Prayer is a means of developing a relationship with God and gaining insights, promoting listening and reflection.
01:01:12 🕊️ Faith involves an element of doubt and humility, recognizing the limitations of human understanding.
01:06:15 🔬 The scientific evidence for an old universe and Earth contradicts the idea of a recent, mature creation.
01:10:47 🧬 The ongoing evolution of humans is explored, along with the ethical and religious implications of future human enhancement.
01:12:10 🧬 Mitochondrial DNA and nuclear DNA differences: Mitochondria have their own genes, but many mitochondrial proteins are encoded in the nucleus. The arrangement of genes in mitochondria and nucleus might be an ancient event with a common ancestor.
01:13:09 🧬 Evolution and Genesis: There's a tension between evolution and passages like Romans 5 and 1 Corinthians 15 that discuss human death as a result of sin. Different interpretations exist, with possible answers including spiritual death, free will, and the intention of the scriptures.
01:14:59 🧬 Human Death and Adam's Arrival: The interpretation of when human death began in relation to Adam's arrival varies. Some suggest human death began with the arrival of Adam's soul, while others emphasize a distinction between physical and spiritual death.
01:18:12 🎥 "Expelled" Documentary: The film "Expelled" misrepresented the academic treatment of intelligent design supporters and portrayed an inaccurate image of the scientific community. Intelligent design's scientific credibility is not widely accepted.
01:19:35 🙏 Miracles and Faith: Miracles, including events like Jesus' resurrection, are considered possible if one believes in God and that God authored natural laws. They can be seen as instances of God showing love and compassion.
01:22:06 🙏 God's Role in Tragedies: Tragic events like the Holocaust involve human actions driven by free will. God's non-interference is attributed to the existence of free will, which is considered a part of God's plan.
01:24:00 🧬 Genetics of Altruism: Altruism may have genetic components, but hereditary influences on generosity and altruism are minor compared to other factors. Genetic mechanisms don't necessarily diminish the role of God in altruistic behaviors.
01:26:46 🧠 Agnosticism and Belief: Agnosticism is a valid principled position, but it's important to explore the evidence and not use it as a means to avoid confronting spiritual questions.
01:28:24 🌀 Determinism, Free Will, and Quantum Mechanics: The uncertainty principle in quantum mechanics introduces an element of uncertainty that challenges strict determinism. Quantum mechanics allows room for free will to coexist with physical laws.
01:30:46 🧠 Journey Towards Faith: Each individual's faith journey is unique. While personal experiences and evidence can influence one's beliefs, there is no one-size-fits-all approach. The journey from agnosticism to belief is a personal exploration.

That is why they can never and will never see the existence of a God being rational and logical because it is not the answer that they are looking to hear or see.

I am a poetry professor. Joseph Brodsky, a Russian poet, said that language is God. So this lecture fascinates me. Language I assume has a genetic basis which speaks our soul into a physical form. But language, especially poetry, takes us beyond the natural world into spiritual experience. As a mystic, I must agree with Carl Jung, one of the founders of the science of psychology, who said he did not believe that God exists because he knew from his own experiences that God exists. I love this lecture and I encourage curious, open minded people to explore through prayer and meditation and their dreams the existence and the nature and guidance of God. Thank you Professor Collins for helping to bring together science and religion as partners on the path to truth.

If you exist give me power to levitate. I repeated that for long long time while playing with a swing. I still remember the loud voice coming from one of my shoulder. I still remember silence everywhere. And then I heard "if we break your legs then you will be happy?"
You can say anything but that sharp sharp and strong voice, it was not loud but it was definitely not from my brain. It was not like the voice we hear in our brain. 1 thing I noticed is the continued (maybe intended) miss interpretation of Genesis. There are 2 creation stories in Genesis. In fact, there are multiple. I'll mention just 3, the creation of plants, animals, and people. Those are all creation stories that are very different but not at all contradictory because they are creations of different things. I would be a fool to say they were different so we must not be meant to take them seriously.
The same thing is true of Genesis chp 1 & 2. Genesis chp 1 is the creation of the heavens and Earth, 2 is dealing with the creation of the Garden on Earth. It says just that, "and God created a Garden." There He caused plants to grow and formed animals from the ground. God created man outside of the Garden and then placed man in it.
Someone pass that along to Mr Collins, because it would make taking him serious on this issue much easier if he got that right.

Humanity has been duped by these ancient superstitious fables. We've all been duped. And the worse part about it is that those of us who have been duped to a point of no return actually going around duping others in the name of evangelism and religious preaching, etc.
Everyone has their own personal "apologies" for these outrageously absurd myths, and none of those apologies hold any rational water whatsoever.
It's truly unbelievable how we, as humans, have been so totally gullible to these outrageously silly myths. And some people take them extremely seriously and somber, but in fact, these myths are as utterly silly as they can be.
Christianity tries to remove itself from the absurdities of the Old Testament and try to create a new religion based upon a supposedly "loving" God in Jesus. But that really doesn't work. All Christianity ends up doing is using Jesus as fodder to support a God who hates unbelievers again In fact, the story of Jesus is based upon the standard demigod superstition which was actually quite old hat by the time the Jesus fables were created. Jesus is a demigod superstition no matter how much Christian want to deny it.
None of these fables have any merit at all. Yet people, for some strange reason, feel such a desperate need to support these religions to their death. This probably stems in-part from an underlying subconscious belief that if they stand up for this God they will indeed appease the God and be rewarded. And they may even have a feeling that if they fail to support these myths they will somehow be turning their backs on God and becoming a sinful "unbeliever".
These myths are without a doubt one of the most powerful brainwashing schemes ever created by mankind to be sure.

I keep hearing this phrase "over a long period of time." And from what I have read and heard, this specifically means "millions of years." I am puzzled by this because I watched "BBC Documentary 2017 - The Theory of DNA Science" where it traces all humanity to a single man, "Scientific Adam," who lived 60,000 years ago. The other thing that puzzles me is how such complex structures like the eyes, ears, nose, brain, heart, nervous -, respiratory -, digestive -, reproductive -, -systems, etc could have simultaneously and perfectly come together at the right time to form a complete and fully functioning human being. I just cannot imagine this though what my mind sees is some grotesque monstrosity which is disproportionately human and animal, and this is definitely not supported by the fossil records. I'm not against evolution but my question takes its analogy from the Big Bang. Just like in the case of the Big Bang, why not say, God started the process and then created the laws that continue to sustain and drive the process? In this case applied to evolution, God created all things as "complete and complex" ("fearfully and wonderfully made" if you are a Christian, and Gen 1's creation story). Then He put "Laws of Evolution" to help creation adapt and adjust to the changes in the physical environment. Like how Richard Dawkins says, "then things really get off on a run." This would be my humble version of "Theistic Evolution" and sounds more plausible than suggesting that evolution through "small incremental changes over a long period of time" produced the intricate and amazing complexities of life as we know it. That would need yet another step of faith. And here there is no conflict between science and faith once again. Science will continue to discover new laws, whether in physics, chemistry, mathematics, astrology, biology, and even evolution because they have been put in place by a creator God who is intelligent, personal and real. I'm not a scientist, and I may be ignorant of the scientific details, so please take what is helpful and chuck what's not.

    • @galaxyrider9599
      @galaxyrider9599 Před 2 lety

I agree with you! The only way "evolution" seems plausible is when it didn't involve millions of years of natural selection to make new organisms. Whatever forms of life God initially created (and I am inclined to think they were indeed "kinds"), He created them in such a way that they already had all necessary genetic information to adapt to their environment. All this "junk" DNA is probably a huge epigenetic system, that allows an organism to aquire new features quickly, within one-three generations. When environment dictates what genes are turned on. God commanded living things to fill the Earth. That's how all the species appeared, with specific features for their niche. And it didn't take millions of years. For example, it was discovered that chickens have a gene for teeth! Evolutionists think that it proves it's left from dinosaurs! But I think it is actually one of those things that allowed many animals to quickly become carnivores after the Fall.

You're mixing up creationist ideas with science. No evolutionary scientist claims everything came together all at once to produce a fully formed organism. Every thing you named, guts, brains, bones, etc., have evolutionary predecessors. Evolution can only build on what already exists in a species. Yet sometimes epigenetics, or a single switching gene, such as hox genes, can cause large structures for which coding already exists to appear seemingly out of nowhere. But overall, a steady development of features can be traced in both fossils and genomes of every significant structure of plants and animals. Everything started out much simpler, even as far back as single celled life with only one ATP transport mechanism and no mitochondria.

How could you apply such logic to a Creator that existed before time was created? You are subjecting a timeless being in the confinement of time which is your own prison in which you perpetuated all thought. Who created God? Are you suggesting that there was a linearly timeline in which at one point this Being poped into existence? Are you suggesting that before that point in which this Being poped into existence, there was a timeline that existed infinitely? You are confined by time and hence you think linearly. You subject God to a mind subjected to think in a linear fashion, and to apply logic on the basis of time. God says through the Word, "I AM WHO I AM", "I AM". Hi, Chris. I suppose the first question to ask you in reply is whether your question is sincere or rhetorical. The answer would depend on your reply to that question. You see, if your question is rhetorical, then you suppose yourself to have understood the underlying reality, and are unwilling to consider things which might revise your understanding. This might be analogous to Dr. Collins before he became willing to explore the questions related to ultimate meaning. On the other hand, if your question is sincere, then you suppose yourself not necessarily to be in possession of all the relevant data. This might be analogous to Dr. Collins while he was pursuing the questions which eventually culminated in his act of faith.
On the assumption that your question is sincere, I could give the answer that many, including Augustine, gave. Exactly how or with what duration God formed man out of the same dust of the earth from which he also formed the rest of the animal kingdom, the Bible does not say. It is therefore legitimate to suppose that God formed man from the dust of the earth, rather than from nothing, by forming the earth with such properties that it could give rise to man. What the Bible does say is that man is unique and distinct from the other creatures that God formed from the dust of the earth precisely in that God breathed His own Spirit into man, making man's life qualitatively different from the other creatures that God formed from the dust of the earth.
I hope that helps. God bless you.

      hi Gregory
      my question was not rhetorical
but i thank you for a sincere answer
though i believe it to be incorrect.
      thankfully these issues are not
      Salvation show-stoppers
for either of us but the responses
      may influence others either way
so it is important to keep the dialogue,
as you did, equitable and objective
      according to scripture
God created man in a day,
on the sixth day, to be precise.
on the other hand our scientific
analysis seems to point to earth
      having taken 4.5 billion years
      to form. This should provide
plenty of time for chance to bring
      the correct molecules together
to form the proteins needed for
life and from there make the necessary
      amino acids, etc.
scripture doesn't allude to any of this.
      Exodus 20:11 categorically says that
Abba made heaven and earth in 6 days.
He named the seventh day a rest day.
hmmmm-we want the six days to mean
four billion years or so but let the seventh
      day be a Saturday?
i prefer to believe the bible, especially
now that so much evidence is
proving its accuracy in so many
      other (astounding) ways.
lastly i quote Paul in Romans 3:4-
      "Let God be true
      "and *every* man a liar."
      hmmmm, don't believe ANYTHING
any man tells you if it contradicts
or is not supported by God's Word.

@@chrisneeds6125 Hi, Chris. Thank you for your reply. Truly it is wonderful to dwell on the riches of God' grace for us as we consider Sacred Scripture, so I thank you also for recalling those wonderful verses.
This is going to be a fairly long comment, as I make my way through your reply. I start by laying a bit of groundwork.
We learn from metaphysics that everything can be considered from at least four perspectives. The first is material; what it's made of. The second is formal; what about it determines what it is. The third is efficient; by what process it came to be what it is. The fourth is final; the end or purpose or objective for which the other three were invoked. The world [cosmos, universe, visible creation] was made for man, so that he could thank God for the wonder of his own being, for the wonder of creation which also intimates the glory of God, and so be led to appreciate more fully the God who is author of all good.
My perspective diverges from yours in several important ways. We know in several ways that Genesis 1-2 not just is not but cannot be intended to be understood as a consecutive sequence of six 24-hour periods. To indicate only a few of the several ways:
-We now know with astonishing detail and precision that what establishes the 24 hour cycle that we call a day is a complex interaction involving the rotation of the earth on its axis, the angle of inclination of the axis of the earth to the plane of its orbit about the Sun, the orbit of the earth about the Sun, the orbit of the Moon about the earth, the revolution of the Solar System in the Milky Way Galaxy, and the progression of the Galaxy through space. Without all of those being in place and operative, we don't have an evening and a morning, a [nother] day. Yet three days pass, yielding light, condensed water, and soil, before God makes stars, the Sun, the Moon, days, months, and years.
-Genesis 1:1-2:4 relate in poem form a liturgical process in which God sevens Himself, covenants Himself, to His creation. There is much to ponder here, and dwell on, but this is neither a diary segment nor a newspaper report.
-Genesis 2:5-4:26 tells the story of the beginning of the covenant people. This includes the story of origins in 2:5-2:25. In this story we encounter something reminiscent of a barren wasteland, then man, then plants, then animals, then woman.
-These have very different structures and purposes from the liturgical glory immediately preceding. Whether you read Genesis 1-4 as a single simple chronological report or as two distinct creation narratives, you are hard put to find a coherent understanding which receives the details as historically precise. On the other hand, if you receive them as very different approaches to putting an exclamation point on the sole transcendent self-existent being creating the universe in order to provide for man entering in love as fully as possible into His own boundless life of goodness, truth, and beauty, then questions of historical chronology become insignificant, irrelevant, distracting, and an indication of a deficient understanding of the author's purpose.
Returning to your comments, I wouldn't expect God to allude to amino acids, for at least two reasons. In the first place, I wouldn't expect God to allude to amino acids in the same way that I wouldn't expect an elementary school second grade teacher to allude either to second-order multivariate differential equations or to amino acids: it would mean nothing to the children and actually distract from the lesson. In the second place, Sacred Scripture is about our relationship with God, both here and hereafter. Whether one is intensely interested or completely indifferent to technical details about the visible creation, what is of the essence is the character of that relationship. That is where God keeps the focus.
Exodus 20:11 is situated in the very core of God making a covenant with the people of Israel, of God sevening Himself. It is not only not surprising, it is to have been expected that He would refer back to his whole purpose in creating the universe: to seven Himself. Man correspondingly actively participates in sevening himself in the very structure of his organizing his ongoing pattern of life.
Since it is God both who revealed Himself in His creation of the world as a reflection of His own nature and who revealed Himself in inspired Scripture, and God is truth, and truth is one, there can be no contradiction between what God has revealed in creation and what God has revealed in Sacred Scripture. Therefore it is necessary to attend with care in studying all that God has done, in order to understand rightly what it is that God has revealed. If there is an apparent difficulty in reconciling what seem to be the conclusions of the various disciplines, then there is a set of strategies for confronting the difficulty. In the first place, I am to call my own understanding into doubt: either I have not rightly understood what the findings of science are, or I have not rightly understood what the findings of theological studies are, or I have not rightly understood how they relate to each other. In most cases of such (rare) apparent difficulty, this is enough to clear up the difficulty. If I'm able to get past the question of my misunderstanding the results in each field and of their relationship, then I carry it back one layer: those who have developed the conclusions giving rise to the apparent difficulty have not rightly understood one or other or both matters, or have not rightly understood their relationship. Finally, if I'm able to get past those questions, then I simply wait patiently for those developments which will resolve the difficulty and which God has reserved for a future age to clarify.
I appreciate the perspective you're expressing in discussing Romans 3:4. The heart is perverse, and desperately deceitful, so it is appropriate to exercise care and caution. The first target of this distrust is of course always the self, who can be led astray by specious arguments even of its own devising without even realizing it, and is the only heart that can actually tempt the self, but to a lesser extent it is appropriate similarly to exercise care in dealing with others. With specific reference to Romans 3:1-8, however, I would say that Paul is arguing for courage and trust. The structure of the sentence in verse 4 is in the subjunctive, and is saying that, no matter what, we can have confidence in God who is always true and faithful, even if there be some (cf. v. 3) who in themselves or at significant moments are untrustworthy, since God will use even that to advance His glory and our good and the good of all who receive it. Thus in the midst of our fears and actual injuries we can step forward in doing good with confidence both that God will supply our shortfall and that He will care for us as we follow Him. In such confidence theologians and biblical scholars developed profound insights into special revelation, and found ways to communicate such insights. In such confidence scientists discovered and developed the wonders that human minds have wrought, some of which have provided motives of credibility (what some people by analogy and exaggeration call proofs--not exaggeration in your case, Chris; you refer to correspondence of particular details) of the gospel.
      God bless you, Chris.

Real science says nothing does nothing. Real science says if there was something there already it must fit with the evidence of what we know. We know the 1LT says there's a conservation of energy. It can change forms and neither can be created or destroyed. Creation cannot happen by natural means. The 2LT has various aspects, one being the universe is winding down, entropy. Usable energy is becoming less usable, so at one point usable energy was at its max. This all points to a supernatural creation, by a supernatural creator at a certain point in which matter, space and time were created. When I read how it can happen otherwise, ALL the fools resort to science-fiction. Once a supernatural creation is accepted, then the next step is finding proof of what supernatural power did it. We KNOW these laws. We have NO doubts about them. We also KNOW that the laws of nature can't come about without a Lawgiver, God.
So if you want to pretend to be smart, please give me the laugh by giving your science how creation really happened by natural means. Also, throw in how we got the laws of nature, naturally.

At the most crucial part of his talk, 41 minutes and 30 seconds in to it up until 44 minutes and 15 seconds into it, when he shows us the linear chart of the human, the cow, and the mouse, he points out that the gene in the middle of the human is defective, it's downgrading, it's pseudo, he told us how this is evidence that all three species came from the same ancestor and that firmly proves that evolution is true. Well if it is true, he did a very poor job of giving the evidence as to why one should conclude that this proves what he says it does. From my intelligent yet lay mind, it stands to reason that this would go the other direction towards concluding that we do not come from the same ancestor because one of the species has a pseudo defective Gene. Not a consistent match. Other than that the rest of his presentation was excellent and easy to understand. I'm a Christian who does not have a problem with theistic evolution. But I have yet to see any evidence presented that it is true. Even if macro evolution is true it does not eliminate the need or existence of God because you still have to explain where the first life came from, where did this extremely fine tuned universe come from, and where did this extremely fine-tuned and complex information filled body and Spirit come from?

Thank you for saving me so much time. Such a weak theory, I agree. For me, besides prayers answered and such, what always convinces me is that history keeps matching to biblical records. Although I believe certain parts of the bible were changed by cults to make Jesus's story a child sacrifice and one of reincarnation, instead of a God being coming down and telling us that we live after death in a place full of life and love. Why they made a God who fought child sacrifice into one that sacrificed his own child, I think I know. It was two fold, one, it made God a hypocrite, two, it enabled the sun cult to equate the phoenix sun to the God son, who goes into great darkness for three months or three days, then comes back to full power. Maybe the Q like being, (Star Trek person of great power) did come down fully grown but did let himself get crucified to show that death was not the final destination. Idk. But the cults did place Jesus's birthday the days after the sun starts getting brighter again, the sun's rebirth at winter solstice. Maybe the cult did this so that they could convince people that their false religion was the founding of Christianity, which I don't believe it was. You would think there were no cults in power back then that could pull off such a thing, but the cult of Mithras was very much powerful and very much like the freemasons of today who are helping people turn the USA and Australia into communist prison countries.

For whom, for what, and why given time beloved? nor to some will say can time be removed. Sincere conversations availeth much indeed. In due time...intent WILL MAKE ALL THINGS NEW. Beloved God rather not wants sacrifice but repentance as a CHILDS. LAUGHTERS of our innocents youngs sons and daughters and all my beloved is SOOTHING to hear and food unto God indeed. Is like making true HAVEN FOR ALL THE INNOCENTS YOUNGS SONS AND DAUGHTERS UPON ALL DRY GROUNDS NOR THE WORLD. UNFORTUNATELY MANY HAVE DIFFERENT INTENT BELOVED. YOU MAY KNOW THEM BY THEIR FRUITS BELOVED. HOW ELSE CAN YOU AND I KNOW A TREE? REMEMBER GOD MADE TREES TO PRODUCE FRUITS. IS LIKE WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM THE TREE BELOVED?

Wow ! Always have said this . Science has only proven God is real that science shows us how God made it all work not by chance but by design 🙏💕

I found this information extremely troubling. I am not questioning the scientific information, what is most concerning is the Pandora's Box that is opened when you consider a God that set everything in motion billions of years ago and allowed "life" to develop via a pre-coded genetic plan that would eventually evolve into "humans" by the processes of mutations, and adaptations to the particular environments in which the life forms were existing in. "How are we supposed to reconcile this with the Creation of Adam"? I have been taught that adaptation and mutations occur within all life forms but that the changes are within a certain species. That is to say that fish don't become lizards, alligators don't become dogs and muskrats don't become monkeys. I have also been taught that the skeletal/fossil record does not currently have any transitional skeletal remains to substantiate this theory. I do concede that I may be wrong with this view point if evidence has been found. What happened in the Garden of Eden?; who was the serpent that tempted Eve?, how does Genesis 6 fit into this bio-logos theory? What is the reason for Gods Intervention at this specific point in time? I am not opposed to an old earth theory but I am having trouble reconciling Mr. Collins evidences although I do concede that you can not argue the evidence that he presented, we have to understand God while also considering the evidence that science is giving to us while being extremely careful not to explain what we don't understand just to have an explanation. How bout this for example: At some point, the ancient astronaut theorists begin to look more right than not when you consider a theory that God allowed evolution to happen over millennia. What I am getting at here is that if the flood is caused to rid the planet of a changed genetic encoding that was possibly due to something that happened in the garden of Eden, what now is to say that aliens didn't descend from the sky and make those changes to the DNA code? "If we are to listen to the DNA evidence concerning evolution then why not have a change to that DNA code that is outside of the code written by God which caused humanity to be separated from HIs creation"?? If aliens are involved, I am not sure what I believe anymore. Watching this video may have been more damaging to my faith than anything that I have ever considered. If we have evolved as Mr. Collins says we have, then I would also submit that we are not done evolving? I wonder if the encoding of the DNA can help us to see into the future; can we predict what we will become next??? Although Mr. Collins presented some extremely good information, I think there are still gaps that he can not account for. Oh and I do not buy into the ancient astronaut theory, I am only bringing that up as a way to show where the mind can go if you follow supposed evidences.

Trust God theses people are trying to prepare you to accept things that are not in line with God's word. Remember he said if it were possible even the very elect would be deceived don't be deceived.

The incredible complexity of the human eye is enough to prove design. There’s no way it happened by chance I don’t care how long you give it.

@Mel Dummar If you want to find an atheist just go to any CZcams video that supports God. I find that funny.. Oh…and one that supports the Christian God particularly for some reason.

"Complexity" is NOT indicative of design, is simplicity that designers aspire to achieve, we attribute "design" by contrasting it with nature. Frequently, believers in irreducible complexity cite the eye as an example of something too complex to have evolved. They frequently introduce the argument with a question of the type, "What use is half an eye?". However if the question is recast as "Given a choice, would you prefer to be completely blind or have 50% of your present vision?", then it becomes clear that the question is badly formed, especially when keeping in mind that many species manage to survive with significantly less-advanced eyes. Examples include the polychaete worms, which can distinguish between light and dark; the simple eye-cup of the flatworms, for finding the direction of a light source; jellyfish and scallops, with simple eyes for detecting movement;the famous compound eyes of the insects, which can make out simple shapes, and ultimately the sophisticated single-lens eyes of the molluscs and vertebrates.
      (1)
Light-sensitive proteins could evolve through a random mutation and re-use pre-existing cascade structures to signal other proteins and activate the cell. Natural selection would prefer organisms which do something useful with this mutation, such as improving the feeding pattern (i.e., during the day food may be more abundant, so conserving energy during the night would be advantageous).
      (2)
If one cell is evolutionary advantageous, then several cells may be more advantageous due to redundancy and due to the higher probability of successfully perceiving light.
      (3)
A flat patch of cells can be slightly improved by the curving of some of the outer cells creating a small depressed area, which allows some amount of sense of where the light is coming from.
      (4)
Said depression can depress further until there is only a small slit of light coming in. This allows a more complex "picture" to be seen, rather than the more binary "light yes/no" of the flat patch and the "light on this side yes/no" of the depressed patch.
      (5)
Said depression may be covered by a membrane that would magnify the light coming in, which has obvious benefits.
      (6)
Muscles to move the "half eye" around would allow greater field of vision and more accurate determination of the source of the light.
      (7)
Detecting basic colors is more useful than detecting no colors (e.g., "is that the toxic blue flower or the edible yellow flower?").
      (8)
The ability to control the size of the slit (even a little bit) and its magnifier is useful to refocus and get just a little better vision at certain distances.
And with that, the hypothetical eye would be reasonably similar to the eye possessed by most mammals today.
