- This is a small amusement park located in Iowa and is home to a few large scale roller coasters. I got the chance to spend a couple hours there this past summer, and this is my review!

Adventureland was the Theme Park I went to back during my childhood with my Grandparents. Good times. Nice to see a new Coaster here as well.
Austin Argo They just added another one 👀
Taylor: Adventureland is the only amusement park in Iowa.
Arnold's Park: Am I joke to you?
Lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha
and lost island now haha
Lost Island joined the chat!
This is my hometown parkkkkkk
Mine to
iowa hawkeyes im near Santiago Iowa, but still by Altoona
Go Cyclones. Get rekt
iowa hawkeyes aye me to brother
Oh yeah go cyclones
2:58 That's gotta be the worst skee ball throw I've ever seen lol
Miked don't expect him to throw like an athlete and break the game he's like 70 years old
Oh my god
I have been in there in the past. where the monster is they use to have a log ride which, i do kind of miss. The storm chaser (where silly silo use to be) was kind of a dumb ride. I do miss as a kid the drivable Motel Ts, a moutain themed roller coaster (where the giant sky wheel is now) they did have live dopphin and sky divers which was where that mine ride. where the drangon is there use to be a hunted house (you can still see the outline of the track)
Whoa, Silly Silo's gone? That makes me sad for some reason. I didn't even like it, but it felt like a fixture of the park. The sort of thing where you can bring your out-of-state friends to the park and shove them onto it without telling them what's going to happen.
I feel the same way! So many memories! I also miss the Super Screamer Roller Coaster.
I miss the log ride and silly silo
Unfortunately a lot of Gerstlauer roller coasters have to be closed during high winds. They are more affected by wind due to the small train size.
I know I'm late to reply, but I go to Adventureland every year like 6 times. This is what the website says, "This attraction will not operate when there are wind gusts of 32mph or higher."
If there are 32mph winds, The Monster, Space Shot, and The Storm Chaser close.
Got to ride monster and it was fun
I live in Iowa and it is in Ames iowa
Other than the Smiler which I Rode in the rain
Monster has been running consistently in 2017. I work at the park and I can't recall a day that it hasn't been open, I believe they have a different set of wheels now so they can operate in higher winds.
craZ4thrills If that's true that is awesome because when I went on it in 2016 they had to stop the ride every once in a while because the winds were getting closer to the max range on the morning I was there.
Yeah and hopefully I might be able to ride the monster a lot more this summer cause i have a 2018 season pass
I live in Iowa so I've been to Adventureland a number of times. Outlaw and Dragon have one train. Tornado has two trains but they only run one at a time. Hope that helps.
They use two trains if it’s packed on the tornado
@@TMint-bg7pl Not any more. They used to run two trains years ago but than the Tornado got an upgrade and with the upgrade they were only allowed to run one at a time.
The monster is open and runs a lot now 30 mins wait tho
Averey Knobloch, I’m with hunter and remel right now
LooneyPort dang bro I can’t wait to hang with u guys this summer
I love Adventureland, but there's a lot of nostalgia involved in that - we used to go there every year when I was a kid. The Outlaw is my least favorite roller coaster. It was great the year it opened, but after that? Rough as hell. I can't ride it anymore, it just shakes too much - instant migraine. The Tornado is much better. I haven't been to Adventureland in years tho. I'll have to head over there and give the Monster a try.
Tensai55 outlaw was fine when I went a few days ago. Dragon is the Terrible one. It so rough and has way to much head banging
i live in des moines and everytime I go the monster is always open so he was just unlucky but you need to go here
That sucks that you didn't get on monster because it's easily the best ride there and a good coaster
0:05. Arnold s Park is in Iowa too. It's not quite as big but its actually a nice retro-style amusement park
probably should've clarified and said "larger"
Coaster Studios Iowa state fair?
Iowa State Fair is not a theme park, lol.
Reject Parndiox it's called a fair not amusement park
Where is that at?
It's also worth noting that although this park is small and the rides aren't great, it has a lot of notable history. Outlaw was the second CCI coaster built and was designed by Mike Boodley of GCI, who considers it his prototype for future GCI coasters. Monster is the first Gerstauer Infinity coaster in the US. Storm Chaser is the first Wind Seeker model built outside of a Cedar Fair park. When the Tornado first opened it was ranked in the top 10 coasters in the world and was designed by William Cobb. The Dragon was the first coaster built by Hopkins (not that they were any good at it). There is some more but that's off the top of my head.
Does the sky ride go through the structure of Monster? It really looks like it does, and I think that's impressive. I haven't seen that before.
It does and it's pretty cool. When the log ride was where The Monster is now it was even cooler because you went right over the log ride and the lagoon that was around it.
More tips for Taylor from a Knoebels regular:
- Definitely buy the wristband instead of a ticket book, you'll save a lot that way.
- Ride the haunted mansion. (Cover your ears when you see a jungle around a corner up ahead, because at that point a loud truck horns blows in your face)
- Short list of non-coaster rides that I highly recommend:
- The bumper cars
- Satellite (old style flat ride that is very underrated)
- Carousel (of course)
- Log flume
- The antique car ride (has a fun, relaxing experience that goes next to and through Phoenix's supports)
- Wipeout (small "family" ride without extreme lateral Gs)
Lucas Bradley how much is the the pay one price wristband
Um... I forget at the moment, but I believe it's under $40.
Lucas Bradley that's cool, thanks for info! I really wanna head out this year soccer I don't live too far. My family would be glad to hear that it's not too pricey
This is my home park and I go about once every 5 years and actually got to ride the Monster the last time I went. The monster is great and the Outlaw is fine but the Tornado and Dragon need some work. They are very rough rides now which is a bit sad. But I love Adventureland and its great to see that they are continuing to add new rides and expand the park.
Iowa native here- never had that issue with the Monster and it really is one hell of a ride. Wife and I have done yearly dates out there since we were teenagers, still have a great time. Adventure Bay is worth making the extra time for. Certainly there are bigger and better parks out there, but this one if a home for us, much love.
I LIVE HERE IN ALTOONA, I LOVE THIS PLACE, MY FRIEND WILL OWNS THIS
Jack Krantz
Owns Adventureland
That's unfortunate that you couldn't ride the Monster or Stormchaser, Monster is a great ride and Stormchaser gives great views and they actually keep you up there for a while. And it is unfortunate that you didn't try the barbecue. I love this park to death. I only wish that they would replace Dragon with a Chance Hyper GT-X that wraps around the lake.
0:33 “hunger” games
I agree that it is a charming park. When I went like two years ago everyone was nice and the workers were super nice. It is my home park(kind of,
I live in Nebraska so it's the closest). Also the monster had not gotten built yet. I think that if six flags takes over it it could get loads of more roller coasters and other rides making it even better. I really enjoyed this video!
Honestly, I hate the idea of having Six Flag take over. I love how quaint the park is. It’s Iowa’s staple. I think that having the park be privately own make it better. Sure the rides aren’t out of this world, but it’s not just about Roller Coasters. It’s about the environment. There almost no advertisements in this park. I’ll even go to the point where I say no advertisements beside from their own. It’s a nice park.
Can you do valley fair
I go every year it’s a place that bring me my happiness and somehow doesn’t get tiring
If you are wanting to go it is good to know that last year when I went a lot of rides were closed due to not enough staff but they have made a couple new roller coasters that aren't really scary but they are still fun.
Do you think that Adventureland is the best amusement park in Iowa?
Like- Yes
Comment- no
@Averey Knobloch and it's amazing
@Averey Knobloch Not true. There is Arnold's Park up by Okobiji but it's very tiny.
We go to Adventureland once a year. And The Monster was closed for us too when we went in 2016. My dad was extremely disappointed. But next year he was able to ride it. The last time we went he rode it three times.
Unrelated: I have a distinct memory of the Balloon Ride and SplashDown always being closed when we went. they removed SplashDown, and by some miracle the Balloon Ride got fixed.
Hey! I go almost once a week and the Monster is ALWAYS open!! And they added a new ride called the Phenix which is almost better than the monster and I love it there they have so many more rides and definitely worth going to!!
I went here the very first time I visited Iowa, back in the mid 90's. Cute park, I'm British.
i accually know the people that own adventureland thier son goes to my school
Adventureland is basically my house. I love it so much
I live in Iowa in Polk county in fact and I makeIt a point to go every year. If you return here and the monster is open it is a really sick ride. You would enjoy it through and through.
#HomePark!!! Love this place
Skimad123!!! Me too!!!!
Nathan andrews my top 5 are:
1, Monster
2,The Outlaw
3,The Tornado
4, The Dragon
Skimad123!!! Number 5??
Theme Park Geek yeah, I relized that after I posted it. 😐
You can edit the comment but I'm totally fine because everyone makes dumb mistakes like that XD
0:05 Forgot about Arnolds Park in Okoboji, IA.
And yes, Iowa food is pretty darn cheap.
The monster is open a very good portion of the time, actually. Though we are a relatively windy state, in part due to our lack of trees, everytime I've been there since it's opened it's been open. It is one of if not the longest expected wait in line because it is the best coaster in the park, but the longest I ever waited was maybe 30 minutes. Most of the time it's a 10-15 minutes wait. If you want an accurate view of the park and the rides ask the people there. Believe me, most of them will be from Iowa and probably go there 3-5 times a season.
Looks like a Really Nice place!
I went there last monday and omg the monster is awesome but the drop is terrifying! Uiu go staright up and then straight back down
As a European I´m shocked by how expensive parking at these US Theme- / Amusement Parks is when 10$ is considered Cheap. Here in Europe the 10€ (currently around 10$) that Efteling is charging for Parking is already considered to be on the higher end of what the parks will charge you.
Anyway, this Park seems to be really nice.
Soonjai everything is expensive in the US parks
Really quite unfortunate you didn't get to ride The Monster. I made the trip up for my birthday and got to ride it a bunch of times. That first drop is free fall heaven and the layout from there is absolute glee.
This is the same as BPB. When I went to BPB the Big one and ice blast were closed due to winds and I think the same goes for CP.
nice. the circus is a bonus
"Wind Seeker type ride" lol it is in fact a Mondial Wind Seeker, just a smaller model than the ones at Cedar Fair parks. Too bad you couldn't ride Monster, it is a fantastic ride and near the top of my list of favorites, and I visit Cedar Point every year! It's usually no more than a 5 minute wait as well.
I love that place and I hope I see u there
Adventureland is one of my home parks, with Six Flags Great America being the other one. I live like halfway between Adventureland and Great America, and since both aren't exactly close to me, I don't make it to either that often. Adventureland was my first amusement park. Either Dragon, Tornado, Underground, or Outlaw were my first coasters, and the Space Shot was my first drop tower. However, since I've been going to Great America over the past couple years, I haven't really gone to Adventureland in a few years. The log flume here that they had where Monster currently stands was one of my favorite rides. I am thinking of doing a trip in 2017 to ride Monster, and since it didn't exist last time I went, to ride Storm Chaser, which would be my first Wind Seeker. I also hope to go to Great America in 2017 to ride The Joker.
It's not the only park in Iowa any more! When are you coming to Lost Island in Waterloo? It's small but growing, and the theming is very nice (and so is the staff).
I love Adventureland I’ve been have since 2008 I come every summer
Would Worlds of Fun to Valleyfair be a good route to squeeze Adventureland in between
My favorite ride at Adventureland is the Tilt-A-Whirl
I love Adventureland. Ive been going there since I was a kid. I admit its not a huge park but I still think its fun. I rode the Dragon once but it hurt my neck so I never went back on it. Im kinda glad to see it go. I love the Tornado though, I dont think its mediocre. I suppose its different being a coaster enthusiast versus a coaster fan that grew up on the Tornado and Outlaw, but i still think theyre great rides.
I went on the monster when i was there the other day and IT WAS THE BEST RIDE EVER also i waited in line forever on the monster but even longer for the under ground and worlds of fun is my home park
I only live 4 hours from there. I'll have to spend a weekend there sometime soon.
My hometown park. Just went the other day😂
“An independent park…”
That aged well. Parques Reunidos/Palace Entertainment is now in charge of the park as of 2022.
I just went to Adventureland today. It will always be my favorite park.
Paw Printz going in a week with my best friend :)
PLEASE! come to Denver and check out Elitch Gardens and do a review!!
If you ever need to know anything about the wait times ask me, I go there alot
They're adding one this year, they added this in 2016..it's 2019, so I mean they're stepping up their game, they have to replace the rides at some point bc all those rides can break down eventually lol, u make it sound so bad🤣I live in cedar rapids, Iowa so I would know know
I think its awsome!!!!! I go every year
Taylor , have you heard of coaster media? That channel has so many memes. Great vid btw!
I’m 10 to 15 minutes away and my family always goes there every year
im going today! i really hope Monster is open!
KittyKat 409600 have fun. It's awesome
yesterday there was like more than 10,000 people there it was so crazy all lines were too long and now monster is always open but pheonix is like so popular
That’s sucks that I couldn’t ride the monster it was so fun I live in Iowa so it’s only 3hrs away from where I live and I enjoyed everything and i was sad to go home the storm chaser was also one of there really fun rides it was very cool u definently missed out
Maybe one day you can ride Lightning Rod. But until then, I’ll be here marathoning Fury and Afterburn.
Looks like a great park! You should try out Long Island’s Adventureland
They do open a new ride at least every couple of years.
Adventureland seems like a fine park, but the only thing I'd visit for is Monster. It looks like a great infinity and making a night!
This is my park. I don’t go often for money reason and well I live about 2 hours away so it’s a tiny bit of a drive. I do love the Monsters and Outlaw, but I hate the Dragon. It bang my head up so much! And fun fact, during early production of the park apparently Disney was involed with the park which is way Main Street in AdventureLand is so similar to Main Street USA.
I live in Pella 1 hr away also it is a great park
Love the place but if you go on the monster it left a small bump on my neck but overall the place is great 👍
I’m going today🥳😇😁
Hey, this park is just around an hour away from where I live!
I live close to here and come there every summer
IMO i think they should`ve added a launched coaster because those get rollbacks so its really not a problem if it does get a rollback.
Taylor, do you plan on doing a Kings Island 5 year plan this year?
The Dragon was just torn down this year and will be replaced which I am super excited about. It was probably the worst coaster in the park. Splash Over was also torn down. The Phoenix is also a fun ride that opened in 2019. It's a spinning coaster by Maurer.
My childhood was usually divided between Six Flags Great America and Adventureland so I have a lot of nostalgia for this park. Monster is easily the best thing in the park now. I would recommend Outlaw, Tornado, Sidewinder, and Space Shot. I love a lot of the classic staple rides they have like Scrambler and Falling Star too.
You should go that park now
I was just there they got rid of the splash over and are getting a new roller coaster and took out the little kid dragons
I miss the log ride
Arnolds park is also in Iowa
Do a review of Silver Bullet at KBF :D
4:23 fav flat ride of all time
Worlds Of Fun And Six Flags St. Louis Are My Home parks
All of their woodies have buzz bars
Outlaw ☆
Tornado ☆
So yep :-)
i really wanted to go on the stormchaser
Gacha girl4life that's a good one
Go to Valleyfair
This is the Amusement park I visit every summer it’s really fun i’ve gone ever since I was 3 and i’m 11 and it’s really fun I love but the only time i didn’t enjoy my day there was when a man around 20-30 was really mean to my family but luckily he was fired from the park anyways the park is really fun I’d rate the Monster from 1-10 an 8 and the dragon from 1-10 a 20 and all the other rides about a 7 BUT GUYS THE PARK IS DEFINITELY WORTH IT!!!!!!!
this place is the best my hometown park
I'm going to Busch gardens Williamsburg in may which coasters should I ride
All the coasters and Curse of DarKastle
I work there in the rides department!
I was at Adventureland yesterday............
I’m already in Iowa (:
and we are going again dis summer
I go their every summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i go there to visit my aunt and its lit
OMG!
All the roller coasters (including the underground) only have 1 train besides the Monster.
I'm pretty sure someone should have told you to wear a helmet for when you went on the Dragon. you're gonna damn well need it.
I rode monster this year
When will the SFGAM review likely be out?
Probably April. This was the last park review for a while cause after this week, the rest of March's videos will be footage based from parks I go to once they start opening up
