I have followed First Aid Kit for ten years since I was 61yo. They were a breath of fresh air with a faint perfume of the past. I first saw them on a music magazine cover, I thought I would check out how two girls so young got to be on a cover. I discovered a whole heap of talent, a pile of emotion, and a pool of versatility. It is so pleasing to find them performing at such an event as this.
@@mhart78676 "Rebel Heart", and "a long time ago" are my favs. But Angel is superb. One of my favourite tracks of this year along with brilliant tracks by Interpol (into the night) and Sharon Van Etten.
I was camped opposite the Other Stage during Glasto, I remember these coming on when me and my mates were horrifically hungover and tired. None of us really had any intention to see them, but after hearing them from our chairs we all go up and headed down. Was exactly what we needed at the time, incredible!
Mate, the secret is to stay drunk and that way you can avoid the hangover. Simple. Years ago me and my mate went to Reading, between us we got through 80 odd cans and bottles of beer as well as a bottle of wine. We had a six pack left on Monday morning. Why do I remember it? Because it was Tennents Super (back when the cans were purple) and even in our obscenely inebriated states we could not bring ourselves to drink it. I tried giving them to a tramp when I got back to London and he told me to eff off, he has standards.
@@rodthurley5343 Bit more than that . I was engaged to a Canadian Girl who had lived /studied/worked in Sydney/Newcastle for 16 years . So visited her before she moved to England . Their harmony, the quality of their live singing, and everything about these sisters is just fantastic. My wife and I are in our mid-fifties and former hipsters and seeing this helps us know the future is going to be alright!
We were fortunate enough to see them at the Ryman last year. It was one of the best live concerts I've been to and I was right shocked by that. Almost everyone in that crowd was a rabid fan, knew every word to every song and remained right there with them from beginning to end. What forces they are.
Coincidence. I'm English and just discovered one of their songs looking for Emmylou Harris ... now trawling through their videos as I sit waiting to load up in Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo. I'm hooked ... what a great sound
@@eleanorryan2750 Thanks. I'm a regular here. I work for an Irish company out of Monaghan. I'm down your way at least once a week. I was super overwhelmed at Glastonbury this year. I loved their Paul Simon covers...they are wonderful...especially their cover of AMERICA..they were very young when they recorded it..such pure vocals..
Wow! Blows my mind seeing this because of the size of the crowd. I saw them in … 2009? on their first tour of the US. Saw them at the tiny Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles. Probably 75 people. Then about a week later in Portland Oregon in a slightly larger theater. And now they play places like this! So glad to see they are getting the recognition they deserve. But incredibly glad to have seen them when I did. Small and intimate is the way to go :-)
@@karinasm51820 Yes but they have played at larger theatres several years now. Ill guess it was already in 2014 they played at a crowded Royal Albert Hall.
