Watching this again in 2023, and I still completely adore the staging and the song. The lights going crazy with the music, the moment where they turn everything completely off, loved it, still love it, will continue to love it.

I wish in Eurovision the voting would be more like a rank. I feel like this song was at least top 5 or top 10 for many, but of course a lot of people who vote just focus on all their 20 votes on their number 1, because thats what really matters with the televotes. You just lose your money if you vote 20 indificual different performances once.

I feel like it has something to do with this being well-liked by the public BUT it wasn't the number 1 song for the majority. Of course this is just personal experience, but many people I talked to and myself included thought this was a great song and a great performance (I loved the lights) but nobody said this is THE SONG. Usually in the Eurovision it is much more beneficial to just use your 20 votes for your favourite performance, otherwise you really just lose your money and votes.
Even if they don't win, it's necessary to recognize that this is a great presentation.

Even though being 1st in order of 25 songs, it's one of the best if not the best opening song an ESC ever had. Definitely deserved more than what they got but it is what it is. TheIr song will be on my playlist for a long time as well and I'm looking forward to their music in the future!

THEY DESERVER FAR BETTER THAN 23D PLACE
I remember loving this as a first song
This is a difficult song to nail live. Her first notes are held, but she has to switch like a knife, without dragging the note to match the rhythm and create that pumping effect. She does a really good job with that. Furthermore, the electro-sound has many sounds really harmonically rich, like that tasteful basspluck, the high background arp with chorus effect - and that makes it difficult to create space for the main vocal - especially when she has a deep (but beautiful) voice. You can hear the problem in the line "where are you now, when I miss you" - because that "you" is gobbled up by the background music when singing live. Anyway, I doubt now that the voting is over, that it will come out on top - but it is a very well crafted and ambitious electro-pop-song, it is just that some styles are more challenging to pull off in the Eurovision setting.
Very good musical comment. I absolutely agree. Very hard song to reach the “studio quality” live with electro harmonies, but she did great. Proud.
I was thinking that too. Perhaps it is extra hard to carry that EDM sound over into a big stage performance and balancing vocals with it etc.

Pia Maria had also problems with her vocals. Their song was an EDM too and they didn't qualified. Last year, people were afraid that cyprus would make it live as well.
Domi took too much risk not recalling that eurovision is a live vocal competition and everything else would be recorded
Well this performance proved that the high note was playback and she just sang much lower in a lower volume
