I can't believe that "people panicked" - that's ridiculous. Such a great opportunity for the tourists to see one that close. Good work by the helpers from the other boat.
I cant believe those people just backed away scared, while the poor young dolphin panicked. Shame on them. But blessing there was another boat full of earth angels near. Thank you for helping this sweet creature who would have never harmed them. They need to be careful wrapping in towels though, to not block the blow hole. Thank you!

Nice job saving the dolphin, but added a few towels.
Towels are biodegradable. I was more concerned they were throwing the wet towels over the Dolphin's blowhole. That is where they breathe.

We went on a boat ride on the Pacific Ocean a few days ago to go whale watching and we didn’t get to see any whales but we did see several dolphins. Made my day as well as seeing seals and birds in their natural habitat. Glad they helped this dolphin back in.
A dolphin jumped into my boat. What should we do?
a. Start screaming.
b. Take pictures.
c. Stand in the shade.
d. Wait for somebody else to deal with it.

I don't get it either. My first instinct would be to get him back into the water as fast as possible.

After taking a quick pic or two, they should have been searching online for info on safely rescuing beached dolphins. Only need one person to document action while everyone else helps with the rescue. Pics & video are easily shared

There was no need to throw towels over the dolphin's head area. In fact, they might have inhibited it's breathing, but fortunately it was back in the water quickly.

You're 100% correct. How many drooling tourist does it take to create 1 brain cell in order to figure out the dolphin needed assistance to get back in the water? Dear God! But they all had their hands busy with their phones so they could video it and post on their narcissistic social media channels. All common sense gone, only thinking of themselves. Yikes!

Dolphins are just too friendly for their own good sometimes; thank heavens those humans knew what to do and got him right back into the water. It was just a calf that got a bit overexcited.

It took them a long time it seems to react and put the dolphin 🐬 back into the sea. But at least two persons thought it was more important to film than to help. I hate mobile phones 📵 more and more when I see people behaving that way.

What if the dolphin had flopped around harder if they came near and injured itself? They came back! That's the important part. And thankfully, someone thought of wet towels... That one was just a calf; I’ve seen full grown bottlenose dolphins in the wild and they’re huge. Probably why it ended up on their boat; got a little overexcited like a typical youngster.

Just wanted a boat ride!! 😄 The way they all just froze was funnier than the dolphin jumping in the boat!! Thankfully those people in the other boat came to save the little guy!! Even seeing just two people couldn't lift him they were like oh don't know about this!! 😮 But they did help put this magnificent creature back in the ocean to return to his family!! ❤🐬 Bet his mom had a few things to say to junior!! 😄🐬 Those people won't forget this boat ride for sure!! 💕🐬

They should have used their life jackets to lift the dolphin.
Since dolphin skin is slippery,
to make sure he didn't fall into the boat and hurt itself.
Fortunately, everything went well, thanks to the people on the other boat.
The shape of the life jacket is perfect for this type of handling.
Cushioned support under the dolphin, cushioned barriers on either side,
with straps between each part to adjust the whole to the size of the animal and The straps are also used to have a good grip for means of transportation.
That way, the dolphin can be moved quickly and safely for itself and its rescuers.

These boats dont peacefully watch the dolphins, they chase them every time they come up for a breath, they harass them. It's really sad.
I unfortunately went on a boating tour like this thinking it was some peaceful dolphin watching, it was quite upsetting.

Just don’t cover the blow hole on the dolphin, the calf could’ve drowned or suffocated. Dolphin looked heavy, great teamwork!

Those witless cowards jumped up and ran away! Thank you to those who rescued the dolphin. Poor creature must've panicked on realising it was amongst cowards. Dolphins are amongst the most beautiful and gentle creatures on this planet.
It is probably nice to empathise with the way people in generally can react when they are startled and scared. Since the dolphin seemed to be startled and scared as well given the erratic movements, besides being utterly strong, an injury would be highly likely, so making way for the dolphin to move seems like a smart idea at that moment. When the dolphin stopped moving in that erratic way, people started to jump into action and rescuing mode, which went rather well, right?🐬😌

I saw a horrible video this week of some stupid teenage girls standing on one side of a fence forcibly trying to get three bear cubs out of a tree so they could take selfies with them. Drove me mad. They dropped one of them. He ran away, had hypothermia, and was wet and scared as hell. And all the while there were people standing there doing nothing or filming. A part of me hoped the mama bear would appear, but then I thought: people probably would have shot her, because of the "dangerous situation she created", leaving the cubs orphaned.

Those who were pure tourists were probably best to stay away. Lack of knowledge can lead to bad decisions. For instance, my extended family from Iowa would be clueless at first. Best to wait for instructions,... then jump in to use farm boy muscles.
Come to the Mississippi and fish beneath the locks and dams,..., you can learn how to deal with hefty 100+ pound catfish... without being impaled by their venom spikes.

I think it’s more on the “flapping” part, that can really do some damage while a dolphin is panicking. A person might slip and fall on the dolphin too so it was honestly a good idea to give the dolphin some space to calm before picking up
