He didn't just write this song... He played it off the cuff to the backing track. Made it up as he went along. You heard that song being created for the first time ever right there on the spot. He does that on his Facebook live broadcasts all the time. It's amazing how he just ad libs the greatest riffs I've ever heard. I was born in 63, So I grew up listening to all the great's. He, already at his young age, has got them all beat in the talent department. When he played with Santana, Carlos stopped for a moment and his eyes got big because he couldn't believe what was coming out of that child. Was a beautiful thing to watch, a talent like that be amazed by this young man. It's my personal opinion that he out played Carlos that day. But, like I said that's just my opinion. I found this boy shortly after he started and he hasn't stopped amazing me yet. Just when you are sure there is no possible way his talent can increase because he is already at top level... He frigging out does himself. I don't believe there is a ceiling over this boy that restricts his playing. I think he will spend his life out playing himself and will wind up taking music to a level it has never been to before in all of musical history, in all genres. But, that's just my opinion. The young man has limitless talent and all he can do is take all of us fans higher than we have ever been with the greats we grew up with. He is a phenomenal prodigy. He has a bit of every great artist's style inside of him. He takes all those styles, bundles them all together, tosses in some style of his own on top of it all and out comes music that will take you beyond the stars while tears stream down your face. His music is so beautiful, crying is the only way you can release what his music creates inside of you. No one, and I've heard them all, has ever affected my soul with their music such as this young man has. It's truly a wonderful thing to experience. His talent is beyond words and he has an entire lifetime ahead of him that's just going to allow him to get better and better. Is that even possible?!?

I found him several years ago. I agree with you fully. I haven't heard one misplayed note by him myself and I listen to EVERYTHING he puts out. I believe God blessed this young man with a talent above all others!
I'm 60yrs. old. I've heard all the greats in my lifetime. But I have , NEVER HEARD SUCH A TALLENT OF ("ALLTHE GREATS COMBINED")in such a young talent. Hope I live another 60 , so I can follow this young man.🐸

I’ve listened to rock music for over 50 years. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Sabbath and Deep Purple have been the foundation of my musical journey. I thought the chances of hearing anyone who could stand on the stage with these immortals had long gone. I started following Taj about two years ago. He was obviously a prodigious talent back then. I’ve listened to this track about 10 times in the last couple of weeks. I didn’t want to get too excited after hearing it for the first time. If that is a true jam over a backing track as the title suggests. I can now state that this is one of the greatest guitar tracks I have ever heard. WOW! If you read this Taj. You have made a 65 year old rocker feel like a young man again. THANK YOU. There are plenty of good young guitarists, but it’s like their goal is to play as fast and load as they can. Taj doesn’t just play the notes he feels the notes. So rare in someone so young. Each track he plays he’s inviting you to join him in playing the track. Those of us that accept the invite are rewarded with a few minutes of pure bliss. I think people started to take notice when he was 9 on Australia Got Talent (which is great if u haven't seen it).. Hes really improved in the last cpl of years.

My nephew started at 10 and never laid it down. 25 plus yrs later... needless to say he's been around the world 6 times. Touring with mega rockstars Megadeth and Anthrax to name a few. This young man here has been hand picked by God. Such talent...with a soul only the weathered can pull from their souls. This brings tears to my eyes. To be so blessed. I saw a comment from a 82 year old woman the other day, I don't remember which video it was on, but she just loved his playing. I'm 59, so I know she didn't grow up during the Rock n Roll era or with greats like Stevie Ray and Eric Clapton. I was so thrilled that she loved his music just as much as, it sounds like, you and I do. I've noticed he touches the hearts of many different generations. You don't find that in many players in itself. Listening to him for a big part of my day is a great day for me!

I grew up on rock and roll, coming of age in the late sixties and early seventies but got away from it for a long time. I've been reawakened to the power and joy of rock guitar by someone who truly has the Gift.

I get the BH comparison, yet his playing hasn't connected with me. If BH connects with others like Taj has with me, that's awesome. It’s scary. A Mozart prodigy to a level I’ve never seen NOR would I expect the public has ever seen. Now 45 year's old, born in Memphis TN, now based in Greensboro NC where his wife is from, just 45 miles from where I live in Danville VA. He won Blues Music Awards Best Artist of the Year award in 2019 and 2020. He has 18 albums already. Eric Gales was born to the guitar, just as Taj Farrant was. Taj has had social media to put him out here for us to share ... Only in the last year or two has Eric started to gain notoriety. He's still young. I’ve listened to rock music for over 50 years. Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Hendrix, Sabbath and Deep Purple have been the foundation of my musical journey. I thought the chances of hearing anyone who could stand on the stage with these immortals had long gone. I started following Taj about two years ago. He was obviously a prodigious talent back then. I’ve listened to this track about 10 times in the last couple of weeks. I didn’t want to get too excited after hearing it for the first time. If that is a true jam over a backing track as the title suggests. I can now state that this is one of the greatest guitar tracks I have ever heard. WOW! If you read this Taj. You have made a 65 year old rocker feel like a young man again.

Alexander Mills Hi Alex. I’m pretty sure that none of the greats were this good at 11 yrs old. There are plenty of good young guitarists, but it’s like their goal is to play as fast and load as they can. Taj doesn’t just play the notes he feels the notes. So rare in someone so young. Each track he plays he’s inviting you to join him in playing the track. Those of us that accept the invite are rewarded with a few minutes of pure bliss. You and I are old enough to appreciate just how good Taj is and will always accept his invites. I guess we have both proved that you’re never to old to rock!

My nephew started at 10 and never laid it down. 25 plus yrs later... needless to say he's been around the world 6 times. Touring with mega rockstars Megadeth and Anthrax to name a few. This young man here has been hand picked by God. Such talent...with a soul only the weathered can pull from their souls. This brings tears to my eyes. To be so blessed. I saw a comment from a 82 year old woman the other day, I don't remember which video it was on, but she just loved his playing. I'm 59, so I know she didn't grow up during the Rock n Roll era or with greats like Stevie Ray and Eric Clapton. I was so thrilled that she loved his music just as much as, it sounds like, you and I do. I've noticed he touches the hearts of many different generations. You don't find that in many players in itself. Listening to him for a big part of my day is a great day for me!

You Tube Music-Premium has a loop feature. There's just something about this Taj jam that hits me deep💘, so I sometimes listen to it over and over again.

I could do better, I just can't. Someone needs to get all of these badass kid guitarists, singers and drummers together in a band and bring back good music. Thank god for these young talents, they just might save humanity from drudgery and mediocrity.

It’s scary. A Mozart prodigy to a level I’ve never seen NOR would I expect the public has ever seen. I just hope his father puts in place a serious level of protocols and measures to thwart those who would try to capitalize on this amazing young talent. He’s “still” a kid but his talent has slingshot him into a world very few will ever conceive.

I’m gonna say it. I have not heard a guitarist that has really checked all the boxes for me since SRV. I have to say Taj....you are an open channel. I highly doubt that you will ever hit a ceiling or plateau with your talent. I can see now that you have truly boundless passion. Kudos to your folks and teacher. You are a once in a lifetime talent. I miss SRV so much and hearing you puts a smile on my face. Keep chasing your dream son.....The world is ready and waiting for a genius like you. Absolutely incredible playing!

Plays right-handed guitar "upside-down" with the bass E string on the bottom.
Now 45 year's old, born in Memphis TN, now based in Greensboro NC where his wife is from, just 45 miles from where I live in Danville VA.
He won Blues Music Awards Best Artist of the Year award in 2019 and 2020. He has 18 albums already.
Eric Gales was born to the guitar, just as Taj Farrant was. Taj has had social media to put him out here for us to share ... Only in the last year or two has Eric started to gain notoriety. He's still young. I hope he soon gets the attention he so richly deserves.
