  • Many years ago, there was not so many stuff to learn like now days. General electronics used to make a kind of Master in Technology. Today, we need specialization on many fields. Things go faster than people are updating or even training. There is not too much I can help more than help people to get stronger bases to impulse them on easiest way to the knowledge highway.
I will share with you my passion for the electronics and help you with the basic learning. So, let's enjoy together and remember it:
"This is electronics. We do not work. We just enjoy it"

WOW BOB! I'm an old High School Vocational Electronics graduate, circa 1978. I learned on WW2 Government Surplus equipment and components, vacuum tubes. And a year at DeVry. But I ended up getting a degree as a Registered Nurse. I work with heart transplants, and artificial hearts. And SURE, It has been rewarding work..I even saved a life (or two) along the way, and have always enjoyed it. And still? Electronics has always been a tremendous interest! Sure, I hold (literally) all of the FCC Amateur and Commercial licenses, Ship Radar Endorsement, etc, etc... I took all of those tough commercial exams. And those Nursing Courses and exams and state board exams were DEFINITELY no mere walk in the park, either! BUT, it always falls short, my knowledge that is! I have learned something new in my profession of Nursing EVERY day. And yet? Somehow, I got lost on The Journey of Electronics. I feel like Rip Van Winkle, who wakes up to a different World. SO Much different than my Youth! But? Physics is Physics. The Equations are the Equations! You young people have equipment now, so SMALL, so LIGHTWEIGHT, so ECONOMICAL! WITH specifications that we could never have dreamed of, which would have been UNOBTANIUM at ANY Price Point! But even as I LEARN things: The components of today are so much more delicate and unforgiving of mistakes. But THAT being said, we did things in High School with vacuum tube technology that in hindsight, were.potentially downright DEADLY if you made mistakes with them,.and I always tried to be VERY Cautious as far as personal safety. I find that I have to UNLEARN things. I've been accumulating test equipment over the past several years, as the family budget allows. Not so much for repair, but to increase my knowledge base OF ELECTRONICS "in and of itself". which is sorely lacking! Raising six kids isn't easy OR cheap! Now, they are grown. The time went so fast! And soon? I will retire from my profession of Nursing. That chapter of my life will close. Meanwhile, watching CZcamss Willy-Nilly HAS helped SOME. But I welcome the chance at something more orderly and disciplined, to follow a logical progression and build of the knowledge base. MOST IMPORTANTLY we have EXPERTS like Bob who come right onto our living rooms! I've always loved Electronics, I think because it is TRUTH, and I want to REALLY understand it MUCH MORE than I do. COUNT ME IN, and All The Best Bob! 73 DE W8LV BILL
