Famous Historical Playboys Who Were Actually Scumbags

- For centuries, society has cheered on men who rack up the greatest number of “conquests” - conquests of women, that is. In some circles, sleeping with thousands of women is ostensibly a badge of accomplishment. Even several popes have bragged about their illicit encounters. Unsurprisingly, many of the biggest playboys in history are also some of the most infamous figures.

Fun little tidbit, Edward VII had over 50 mistresses. He was so obsessed with sex, that, when he had gained considerable weight, he had a chair specially made so that he could continue to have sex without the risk of crushing the woman.
Funny how he also was owned karmically later on
I think there's a video about that on this channel lol
Every lady's crush lol
Heard about that.
Gross
By his own account, Casanova fathered a child with his own daughter. The man was disgusting.
They call males "great lovers" but women they call nymphomaniacs.
Which was a normal thing back then. Want proof? Well, ask the Habsburg family. They have a 200 year long history of being... very close connected
@@MonkeyDToniProductions Hapsburgs married *cousins*, not their own children.
@@SafetySpooon You get the point though
I'm not clear on the details, but I've heard that Casanova might have lied about that in his book to make it more outlandish. Some accounts say that Casanova *almost* slept with his daughter but fortunately found out who she was and backed out before it was too late.

I’d say a quote from Firefly applies here:
“It's my estimation that every man ever got a statue made of him was one kind of sumbitch or another.”
The hero of Canton, the man they call Jayne! 🎶
Browncoats unite!
That is a perfect saying. I've never thought about it but it's probably true
Nobody is perfect. And nobody is liked by everybody. But I think that George Washington and Abraham Lincoln were pretty decent guys.
You win the internet for citing Firefly. Thank you !
I once read that when Camilla first met Charles way back when they were teen-agers, her first words to him were, "I'm so very happy to meet you. My great-grandmother was your great-grandfather's mistress." I guess the rest is history!
Not teenagers, but young adults.
Anyone, man or woman, who can't be faithful to one partner and abuses said partner, obviously has a personality disorder.
Could you do a video on the history of Louisiana, cajuns, mardi gras, etc. Maybe even the weird history of different states!?
That would be fun! Create a playlist or a separate channel?? 😮😅
Hold up man, you might need to make this a series. There’s a lot of people that you left out of this list
Try "playboys who were not actually scumbags" ..Much harder to find.
I’d love to watch that 😂
Oof. Now that's a challenge.
Not a thing
Lol
That is a lot more difficult, but I assure you that we do exist. 😏🥂
It gives that Levert song Casanova a whole new meaning for me.
I always thought it was a song about him being gae tor Casanova
I'm surprised the other notable lethario, the Marques de Saad, wasn't mentioned.
Uhh isn't he more know for being a child predator than "playboy"?
@@Harleyxjokerforever I'm not entirely sure, but they did coin the term "sadist" because of him. He was a pretty depraved person, whether he dealt with minors or adults.

At what point in history has the word “playboy” not been synonymous with “scumbag” ?
I suppose the magazine? But even then, I am not sure on that front either
You should make a video about Richard Wagner and his antics, and how he was just horrible to his first wife Minna Planner. He did not even go to her funeral.
He was also a raging anti-semite.
@@jordanwaskelis4913
Yes, I've heard of that. One of Wagner's biggest fans was Adolf Hitler, who considered the 19th Century composer the creator of the purest Aryan German music. Hitler even had a friendly exchange with some of Wagner's descendants.
Of course, Wagner was not *known* as a "playboy". He was known as a self-aggrandizing composer.
Damn Fidel...how did you have the energy for all that revolutioning ?
I remember when Prince Charles got caught cheating on Princess Diana with Camilla Parker Bowles.
Most embarrassingly, it was revealed that he had written to her, "I want to be your tampon."
On the tampon thing with Prince Charles - total yuck! Can't stand those people anyway.
Ugh yuck!

Missed opportunity to talk about Porfirio Rubirosa, Dominican playboy and rumored inspiration to the James Bond character.
Lol he was supposed to be a scumbag though. It’s part of his legacy. These men here are kings, politicians, artists. Rubi was just a dude with a huge schlong that preyed on women. It was his life and everyone knew
With his dick resembling the overlong pepper mills…
A couple years back I was in Cuba for a week. Alot of people there thought I was "one of Fidels bastards." Sounds negative but a couple of shopkeepers gave me 20 percent off of their trinkets (yes there was actual price tags on the items) and they were extremely friendly towards me. It was quite nice.

Absolute BS. Many women love them.

He impregnated her many times, and never took care of the children. She never got any kind of support. Some of the children have shown an artistic inclination in the way of painting.
Oh my goodness I just love this channel. Awesome and interesting vid, as usual ❤️
Lol nice name
It’s almost as if the traits that make you a “playboy” actually make you a horrible person, which is what women have been saying especially with regards to the “pick up artists”
The Playboy docu about the abuse of playmates was so twisted
Twisted to a Blue Pilled narrative
And by abuse we mean "girls who sell themselves for money in a mansion where men go to have sex for money with girls who receive money in exchange for sex".... yeap

Isn't the whole idea that a 'playboy' is a monogamy-breaker, thereby automatically rendering him a moral villain in every circumstance?
@@dae6736 Found the degenerate.
From a religious point of view, certainly. But objectively, most men would consider such a person a winner, a dude that has great seduction skills and someone they wish they could be like. The inner predatory animal is showing up , no matter if they realize it or not. Marriage was invented to tame that predatory animal, mind you. 🤔
Yes traditionally.
But welcome to 2023, where 21 year old prudes with rainbow boyish haircuts are scouring the interwebs to cancel any historical icon of another era so they can earn social media cred and hopefully become beacons of morality while sitting alone in a dark room suffering from mental health issues wondering why they are so lonely.
Zoomers have become ultra conservative prudes and have ushered in a new era of hyper digital moral panic..and the sad thing is they are too busy being stupified by the tiktok "for you" algorithm to even release.
@@ConceptualMadness i blame their parents :)
My generation (b. 1975) were the ones with abandonment issues from our parents, and a lot of my peers went overboard with the 'parental protection', thereby raising a large group of trepidatious ninnies with no life skills. But the morally conservative streak they've embraced has legit surprised me too.
Give 'em time... we were their age once.
We just had WAY more fun doing it. ;)
@@KFCuser That's what i'd normally have thought too, but I've seen enough true crime to know that even people who aren't religious are just possessive af about their romantic partners. IDK if that's more of a Western/American thing but it feels more pervasive than that.

Our family watches White Christmas (1954) every year featuring Bing Crosby, and I remember the day my mom told me that out of context of the movie he was awful to women and hit his wife often. It’s hard to continue to enjoy the film without thinking about how filming could’ve possibly been for the women- Even Danny Kaye.
Great narration !
Surprised Errol Flynn didn't get a mention.
I never will look at Crosby or Sinatra the same way again.
Thank you
Always interesting and informative

The fact that they are playboys shows that they love themselves more than they could ever love any one else. They are narcissists by definition
Are they? Or maybe they're just very good at being attractive? In the end it seems like society wants to hate on slut shaming women, but when a guy sleeps around he must be a monster?🤔Doesn't seem fair to me
In the end most people are out to get the best deal for themselves, every individual is an egotist in their way. Women use men for various things and men use women for various things.
In most cultures throughout time it's been common for men to have multiple partners, it's only generally the Judaeo Christian model that believes in monogamy. These guys just seem to be doing what works for them, people in general only seem to get mad due to insecurity and envy. Women because they can't keep these dudes for themselves, and dudes because they want to be like them (even if both parties won't admit it)
I mean it's completely natural for a man to want to sleep with as many women as possible it's evolution but I agree it's pretty shitty to do if you're married

On predators and preys. Nothing said about the preys, especially on reasons for them becoming preys.
Is that Mr Roper in the picture?
Ian Fleming's dismissal of women is rooted in the same one that Bond's is. The two women he actually genuinely loved he shows in both _Casino Royal_ and _On Her Majesty's Secret Service_ . One was a traitor and spy who set him up. The other was murdered. Fleming's own real life was reflected in the original Bond Novels.
so the two women he loved could not be his, he decided to treat all others poorly? yeah that makes it better
Don't take it too hard, he doesn't care about you so stop being a living stereotype
@@layna-heyhey It's interesting that we consider men sleeping with multiple women as 'treating them poorly' but it's slut shaming to attack women for the same?
I find this double standard a little sad tbh, in the end each of these women made a choice to be with bond, if he didn't stay with them perhaps it reflects as much on them as him?
It seems to me this is really no different to when men complain about women who won't sleep with them. The only difference is that society blames one and defends the other.
@@AeneasGemini Picasso would not allow his wife to divorce him and kept her to him even though he was running around on her made her a horse in his painting.
Casanova was probably passing around some sort of sexually transmitted disease.
Hugh Hefner was being abusive to the women around him and also had a wife on the same property as the Playboy mansion.
A woman having sex with a whole bunch of men is a w**** a man having sex with a whole bunch of women is somehow a stud there is a double standard but it seems to be in favor of men because it's a man driven world.

@@layna-heyhey , the fact you don't get the point shows you are a stereotype. See.. in one case, the woman betrayed everyone for another man.. including a man who also loved her. In the other, she was murdered. In the world of spies (real life) people are fungible and pawns in the first place.

This channel is more valuable than you can imagine, yes, it's funny and informative. Discussing the notorious lives of "famous" people was needed to peel away the veneer of their "nice" personalities (sorry for the quotes, but hey...). I had no idea about the scandals surrounding Hefner. I collect old playboys but I feel bad now....
