#Metallica #DeathMagnetic - Hudba
One of their best songs. Criminally underrated.
Yes, I'm remembering I used to be obsessed with it. They didn't play it on the concert I went to though and it was Death Magnetic Tour
I still associate this song with Bloodborne.
With this song I knew Metallica (leave me alone, I know it was a little bit too late haha) but my point is that for me also is so good that from there I knew almost all of their songs and albums and have gone to concerts of theirs. Awesome song!
Just discovered this song and instantly fell in love with it
The riff on the whole song is astonishing!
Whoever came up with the concept for this video & produced the film and animated visuals deserves an award. Seriously, it's like a short, classic terror film mixed to Metallica's booming sound. It's a work of art.
I agree, amazing video.
Still makes my hair stand up. Super awesome and terrifying at the same time!!!
it was probably Kirk, he likes that kinda stuff
Literally an amazing and brilliant concept for zombies

Death Magnetic is a seriously underrated album
@@kalinhradskaNah.
Hands down my favorite album but I love all of their music except st.anger
The Hammett "WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" roar right before the second solo at 6:01 has given me chills since 2008. The high point on Death Magnetic IMO.
Goddamnit fuck yes.
for me, the slide at 5:27 as the bomber went down did it.

This has got to be one of their hardest songs, the riffs are just furious and relentless, the solos make me wanna snap someone’s neck and just godamn its so good
I would't say the hardest but it definitely isn't easy throughout the whole song (only rhythm guitar). One of the best songs ever tbh

@@TrickOrRetreat same I always heard Metallica after "...And Justice For All" wasnt good but I had to listen to all the albums and honestly they have stayed to their roots of thrash metal but have a special unfluence in all there albums.
@@SinisterJacob tbh I like their old stuff the most. And I do agree they always been true to their music, and the metal energy their numbers never fail to accomplish. St Anger: Am I a joke to you
It has 26 million views, how is it “underrated”?
@@umi6817 26 million doesnt mean anything. Its hardly noticed by Metallica themselves of how popular it is. As well as not many "fans" like it. Same with St. Anger even though it had millions of views too.
It is frequently played live, it was nominated for an award, and Metallica is one of the most important bands of all time. I really don’t see how it’s underrated.
This song is the definition of metal, it’s heavy, fast, and awesome.🤟

This song literally defines my teenage years. I would listen to this on repeat daily along with the rest of the album. So horribly underrated. My brother, when James paused and took his breath at 7:08….. I still get chills. So so so so damn hard and under appreciated
i never hear anyone else mention that part, so im glad other people appreciate just how damn good something so little as exhaling in a song can be
Kill em All defined the end of my teenage years. Imagine not knowing Puppets was yet to come! What a ride!
The entire video is like a Lovecraft's tale, and I love it.
The song is based on The Hounds Of Tindalos, the name of both a story and creatures created by Frank Belknap Long (who was friends with Lovecraft). The Hounds Of Tindalos hunt down people who use and abuse time travel, essentially acting as the universe's antivirus program.

Old school Metallica meets modern Metallica and the baby is beautiful
Don't see why people didn't like this. Coming back to it 7 years later, it still sounds good to me.
Corranhorn122 "Everything after Justice sucks boo hoo" is why. People hate to see artists experiment. I can't imagine what people said when Da Vinci quite painting and began building helicopters and 8 limbed humans.
hah
Chuck House I'm not a huge Metallica fan but I love this song. What's so experimental about this one that everyone hates?
8bit It's not this song in particular. It's that after Load/Reload (and some go back to the black album) a lot of people feel they "sold out" so even though this album kicks ass (this song in particular) many people will declare it sucks without even listening to it.

This might be one of the greatest heavy metal music videos of all time. The song is so fitting too. This is their second best after One.
I like the song a bunch, but so many song should come between this and One
they are not heavy , they are thrash
+meen ana personaly i consider them Heavy Metal, even though they are technically thrash metal, just because they fit in with other heavy metal bands better than they do with thrash metal. Love it either way
i consider them their own genre
TJ Hooker I mean thrash is pretty much a sub genre of heavy metal in my opinion
I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds this video's visuals totally compelling and fascinating.
The whole idea of an extraterrestrial organism landing in the fires of the Tunguska cataclysm, with the ability to reanimate dead organisms and rebuild tissue... experimented with by the post-WW2 Russians and eventually weaponized to use against the United States during the Cold War, taking over by unleashing the strange regenerative spores to initiate an undead nightmare disaster, then devising a method to kill off the unwanted mutants and conquer the continent... but finding that even their great military might cannot collar the alien organism forever... There's just something about the surreal imagery and feeling of "otherness" arising from the Russian-styled animation and Cyrillic graphics that adds to the drama and "realism".
The way Metallica and their video directors and producers put this together is nothing short of amazing and arresting. It really does feel like an old newsreel found somewhere in a bunker in an alternate Soviet Union on an alternate Earth, where all this actually happened.
(When I glance at the writings of today's wildest conspiracy theorists, I imagine their minds must be full of images like those in this video - just pure off-the-rails crazy-ass science fiction.)
No they didn't. That story was a hoax.

+Andrey Rangel It's the only song wich tells us they can compose like in 89... but... I think the true metallica is dead after "And Justice for all"... They are old, they have not the tooth to have the envy to make better. But... after saying that, I hope... like an old lover of what they did to me : loving metal for ever 20 years ago...
Too many people are too much obsessed with kinda ideological concepts like genre, mainstream, and stuff. I have no problem liking a pop song or disco music sometime.
I prefer the early albums too. But i hate when every metallica song is dismissed with "this is not trash" "this is commercial" "other guys of other bands are better". all of the previous statement can be true, still the song can be enjoyable anf that's what truly matter.

My favorite song off Death Magnetic. It’s literally one of their best songs they have written. It’s a perfect mix of their older and newer heavier sounds. Powerful, Intricate, groovy, catchy. The thrashing that starts at 6:15 is insane (reminds my of Dyer’s Eve). Wish this song got more love in their live shows.
Edit: Also I forgot to mention. This is the song that drummer Matt Sorum once told a story about that I read in a rock magazine. Him and Lars went out partying hard one night during the production of Death Magnetic. But Lars had to go in the next day to record drums for this song haha. He called Matt to tell him that he was hurting from the previous night’s festivities lol. Well... this is the most appropriate moment to rewatch this.
So I guess James Hetfield said this song was about the Hounds Of Tindalos, which are fucking badass and terrifying.
If you are unfamiliar with them, they are essentially transdimensional time travelling immortal creatures that manifest through corners after catching the scent of their prey across time and space (they hunt literally anything). We are talking they travel across entire universes, billions of years, etc only to emerge through smoke in corners (not even kidding, they can manifest out of any angle that is less than 120 degrees). Crazy fucking shit, go read the short story "Hounds of TIndalos" (it's free).

This music video NEEDS to be made into a movie or mini series.
Maybe a whole franchise. My video game idea, a book or short story anthology, a graphic novel, then your six-part mini-series. But the people making it happen would have to 1) stick to the source material, and 2) actually give a damn about making it work. I could see this become all kinds of laughably awful, but it could also be incredibly awesome.
Not everything needs to be made into a movie. Although if Metallica actually starred in the lead roles, I would have no problem with making it into a movie, because then why not?

This album is so fucking underrated, because St. Anger was so terrible, no one gave Death Magnetic the time of day.... and that's sad because it is quite literally the album that should have followed Justice instead of the Black Album. Complete redemption.
*****
Death Magnetic annihilates the Black Album and makes Load and Reload look like a couple of piles of dog shit.

So, if I don't like what you like, I'm an ignorant metal fan? lol. Fuck off. Your description is the very definition of ignorance. The Black Album is straight up boring. I can't even listen to it anymore. Ive been a fan since '87. I bought that album on day one and was disappointed then.
Load and Reload have decent songs but they don't even sound like Metallica albums. My comment was that Death Magnetic fits right in line with the first 4, quality wise AND pacing of the albums. It, logically, should have followed AJFA, and would have been much better for their lineage to us old school fans that want older style Metallica, not what they became after that.
I don't care who you are but if you think the black album is boring you are ignorant man.

It is boring. Especially when compared to the 4 albums that came before it. 3 minute long, one riff per song radio friendly drivel. Exactly what Metallica from '83-'86 was vehemently against.
Black album is one of the most overrated albums ever. It's not as terrible as St. Anger by any means, but it is completely lackluster compared to Metallica's top catalog.
So, you are saying that Death Magnetic is "horrible". lol. That is funny.
Why 'Tallica doesn't play this live is beyond me. Such a cool song.
DoomPowerMetal, Search Nimes 2009....uploaded by shenko3dom this is great live
The Nimes version is way better than the studio IMHO. The whole set is great.
DoomPowerMetal they need to play this, they also need to come to Washington so I can see their new tour of the worldwired tour
They played it when I saw them on that tour. It was awesome! DM was a great album
I played this song a lot while killing zombies on Left 4 Dead. It feels almost like an official song for the Hunters on that game.
It's all a game and people aren't waking up. That's the scary part.
what if the spore gave the guy from One his sight, speech, hearing, arms and legs back

This is one of the best short films I've ever seen, in addition to being their best song since ...And Justice For All
This video idea needs to be made into a movie. Absolutely amazing
