Re Tax free thresholds on 2 jobs. Quite a few people (including myself in the past) work 2 or more low paid jobs, meaning that they still don’t earn enough to pay any tax, yet have tax taken out from the wage of the second job (which does get returned at tax time- but people need it when they earn it, plus they have to complete a tax return just to get their income back).
I also got audited for receiving a large tax return- because the ATO told me I couldn’t claim more than one tax free threshold !!!
