This is really disgraceful from my perspective of view. Also, Russian Orthodoxy is the most influential one, yet even Greece orthodox christian doesn't admit the authority of Constantinople Patriarch. So I think it's totally fine to be baptized by Russian orthodoxy church.

How can so many Chinese know about this and about Byzantium? I really like it, but can someone explain how so many Chinese know about this? I really like it again to say clearly.
innosanto Because of some paradox games such as Europa universalis,lol. Chinese people treat Roman-Byzantine empire as an ancient power like theirs. So many Chinese feel pity that Byzantine can't survive to modern period.
Another reason is that China and Rome have a similar history, both were superpowers and both suffered aggression after decline, so the Chinese naturally have a special affection for Rome
It's a meme in China that people say they are "Spiritual Romans" and basically love everything about Roman Empire. Particularly when it comes to the topic about the Fall of Constantinople, we often say "精罗落泪"(Tears shed of the Spiritual Romans). Though such meme do comes with real emotions about history (there's a reason none of us tears for the Turks). China and Roman Empire sort of shares the same pattern of history. While Constantinople fell in 1453, our Ming Empire fell in 1644 and also led to catastrophic results. We really do understand the same grief with the Greeks.
They are taught in school I think, they're very strict but they learn everything, not like us "westerners" who don't learn about China and Asia in general
if i remember corretly in XVI-XVII century Chinese officials wrote to Portugese a letter in latin, because Roman Empire was last country from Europe that had connections with China before.
