Not a joke, but the baby story reminded me of this, my MIL was born and her father was never around, raised by a single mom. At only 5 weeks old in the south her mom would put her outside in a crib on the porch by herself because that's just what people did with babies. A man walks by and hears a baby making sounds, goes up and sees her and then knocks on the front door. Her mom comes to the door, the man introduces himself and says, "sorry, I just needed to see how gorgeous of a woman you must be to make such an adorable baby" they started dating and he eventually married her, adopted my MIL and they had even more kids together. They were married for many decades until she passed away just a few years ago. My MIL always jokes about how she set her parents up at only 5 weeks old
