    My favorite seonagi setup: take a standard overhand lapel grip. When your opponent grips under, throw your lapel hand elbow hard to left like a feint. Your forearm resting on the crease of their elbow gives a ton of leverage to throw the Uke off way balance to their right and to break the grip (it’s really uncomfortable pressure on the uke’s elbow and shoulder.
    Action-reaction. Uke will naturally recover by yanking the left elbow/arm back into position. That opens up the entire arm to be scooped. Come in hard with feet and hips, scoop the arm and unleash hell.
    Set it up with a 2 on 1 dominant hand grip that forces Uke into a left hand fight.

    Thanks for the video. I'm a Seoi Nage player and i would say the same things about setting up someone for an Uchi Mata.😅😅😅 That's why Ebinuma is so impressive in my point of view. Keep on throwing 🥋🥋🥋

    Awesome footage and commentaries! There were a lot of powerful, 'Holy Shinto!' throws in this match. What do they put in the Wheatabix over there? 😅.

    That one sode was funny. Like they never lifted over the back, just spun the opponent around them and pulled the hand so they did the swirl in front of them. I wonder about Deguchi's uchimata from the knees, are you still allowed to ippon when one person is on the ground if it wasn't your initiation?

    • @JudoHighlights2015
      @JudoHighlights2015  Před 3 měsíci +1

      You have to have 3? 4 limbs on the ground for newaza

    Try ippon seoi nage from lapel grip (hidari kata seoi variant), makes it easier i.m.o.

    Lean back as you enter into drop seoi if the opponent has 2 grips. Allow your legs to go under him before your upper body does - his hands can only control your upper body. This way you slip “under” his defensive grips.

    If I may, being Italian, I would like to correct you for the pronounciation of Esposito (because you are probably going to say his name more in the future...):
    the accent is on the first "o": Espòsito, not on the "i", Esposìto; this is a common mistake because - I guess - it looks like a spanish word, but in italian it sounds completely different.
    Sorry for being pedantic, but I just would like to be helpful.

    I've watched and really enjoy these highlights; however, it's quite annoying when names and countries of judokas are not introduced. I had to pause and replay many times, and even that, still could not make out who and who in some cases.

    • @JudoHighlights2015

      Yeah I’ve thought about this a bunch. On the one hand I want to say who it is. But on the other hand if people don’t know it’s easier to just say white or blue. Any advice is much appreciated
