What does it mean when breasts become hard after having implants? What exactly is a capsular contracture and what do I do about it? These are questions a number of women ask me during consultations, and I'm here on my daily vlog to provide answers about how we rate the severity of capsular contracture, and what the options are if it happens. I think you'll find this video incredibly informative!

I have to agree with Jessica White. Could you please do a video on your expertise dealing with and avoiding double bubble?
I actually ended up with this condition when I had my BA 15 years ago. My experience was a very difficult one to go through.
When my PS performed the surgery for below the muscle implants, he lowered my creases to center the implants around the nipples. I also have constrictive breast tissue.
After the surgery my old crease line was still visible and my. breasts looked horrible.
Nine months later, the same surgeon went back in, he tried to break up the constrictive tissues with his fingers. The surgery was a failure with absolutely no change.
A year later, I decided to find another surgeon to try to help me
and He agreed to do a revision.
He believed that my creases should be lifted back up and that I should’ve had a lift with my first surgery, instead of lowering the creases.
The recovery of this surgery was worst than the first with excruciating - stabbing pain.
The end result was, disappointing. He offered another surgery free of charge but I declined it.
It actually took nine years for my breasts to start to look good as the creases finally receded enough that its is barely noticeable at all.
I’m wondering now 15 years later if my saline implants need replacement due to their age.
I’m not having any problems, but how long should anyone go before this is required?
Thank you for your great channel, I really enjoy the information you present.

Hi Dr. Youn, I had a mastopexy in late May 2021. My right breast was larger and after this surgery it was still slightly larger but much better)! In mid September 2021 I had implants. The plan was to put a smaller implant in the Right and larger in the left. The decision was made to place 595 cc's in both mainly b/c the Dr. knew I wanted at lease a DD and the 595 is all that would fit in the smaller left - so he made the decision based on knowing I would want to come back and go larger once it was possible. Where I am at right now is the left breast will not drop. It was been 6 weeks(keep in mind the smaller breast initially). Are there reasons for that in your opinion. I am listening to various opinions and would be curious to hear yours. Btw.... I am 5 '9" with medium build.

    • @EssiCrossed
      @EssiCrossed Před 2 lety +3

Hey! I don’t have an exact answer for you but I wanted to chime in and say that I’ve had almost the exact same experience! I’m also 5’9 with a medium build and I had implants put in both breasts and a mastopexy on my right side in early June of 2021. My right implant is 195 cc’s and my left is 295 cc’s, i was practically flat chested on my left before the surgery, nearly zero breast tissue.
At about 6 weeks, the implant on my left had barely fallen at all, and I was also worried. It turns out, in my case, that the area where the implant sits is a little too thin, which then compresses it into a more oval shape. This makes my left one look like it hadn’t fallen until I reached about the 3 month mark. I followed my surgeons instructions very seriously, and now it definitely looks a lot more natural even despite the vertical compression but because of the pocket’s small size, it still looks a bit high.
I would say just follow your surgeons instructions. I had to massage them downwards twice daily and eventually i was instructed to take vitamin E capsules once every day. I wish you luck in your recovery!!

Your only option IF after three times would even be possible that I'm aware of is doing ADM which increases the cost around an additional $5,000-6,000. ADM is a type of skin graft, the particular surgeon mention (pig) animal skin. But reading through it Carrie's risks of it's own. It's just not worth it.
